I really love the game and I think it's a great. The dice force you to adapt your strategy and using Conan could be decisive many time. Great Review btw.
Could you please tell me the size of the cards? Is it the Eu-Mini(44mm * 68mm) or US-Mini(41mm * 63mm) size? Thanks! I'm trying to get some sleves before my Kickstarter Box arrives. :)
I think this game seriously needs house rules, i dont' understand why authors didn't make a new edition but only an expansion. I played it dozens of times when it was out, so many years have passed and i still remeber the mixed feelings i had about the game mechanics. Firstly, the game is uselessly long, it takes an unreasonable amount of time to finally crown conan, so many player simply do not want to replay it. But this is the weakest of problems, it could be solved by playing 3 quest cards for era (once i tried to use only two card, but the first appeared to be way too short with just them). Moreover, if i recall correctly, there is no guarantee that conan will be moved in a round (in the case nobody rolls the proper symbol to move conan), so some era will be simply longer and exhausting with virtually no limits (here the game may benefit from a rule that set a timer for conan to reach the destination). Another drawback is the fact that you are essentialy bringing war to the table, conquering neutral regions in the first two era. BUT the political borders are punishing some factions: for example Stygia is the only one remaining more isolated, while hyperborea will surely clash with aquileia. The first two player that engage each other in combat are going to lose the game, since fighting makes only lose soldiers and territories (they become neutral so extra effort is required to gain or regain them), while the "Krom counts the deads" prize is a very small reward...if Krom would be really counting the deads, the rule should be "both player get points for each of the opponent's soldier slained", not just one miserable point for having won the combat; in this way direct engagement with soldiers would be encouraged and the player doing war campaigns against the tablefor the whole game would not be advantaged.
Do you think there's too much luck in the game? Some people seems to have complaints with the randomness of the cards, dices, adventures token and bidding in this game. What is your opinion on the issue? Keep up the good work!
I want to buy this game.. but is this a good one game???... I saw other reviews and they say this game sucks!!!... is that true???... the game looks ok... but I want to know if this game is a good one???... looks like Risk game... any suggestion???... thanks.
i think i need to buy this game; based simply on the fact that during your review, you said the words: "women, treasure, or monsters" in succession.

It's a good game and one that was overlooked just because it said Conan.
