Man this is absolutely fantastic - the filming, the narration, the original music... that map/route overlay for each day was a really neat touch too. I checked out your channel to see if you had more and I saw your other two hiking videos, but I was shocked that this is essentially your first "real" video like this. It's so good. If you ever make another I'd definitely watch. Quite a coincidence that this pops up on my feed less than 2 weeks before I take off on a hiking trip of my own that I've been planning on filming & making my first video out of. I've already got lots of ideas for how I want to compose it, but yours is on another level lol nice work man
Hi Logan! Thanks for the thoughtful comment. Most of the planning for this video came after the fact. I just made sure to get shots of the surrounding environment whenever I took a film photo to kind of put the viewer in that place a little better. I’d also recommend writing the voice over first, then editing to match that.
So beautiful! Film and photos were gorgeous. I did the WT with Sierra Club last year--later than you, in September. You really added on the extras! I had never heard of anyone adding Glacier Basin and Burroughs to the itinerary, plus that 19-mile day and Spray Park! Very impressive--like adding a whole other journey to the Wonderland!
Thank you Peter for those thoughts. Yeah I think Glacier Basin really should be marked as a detour much like Spray Park. While it does add some mileage on, it is such a cool experience!
Dude. Incredible video! Awesome job with the composition, commentary, and cinematography. Love the details of the map and the route you guys took. Did you use an iPhone for all the b roll / video clips?
Hello! Thanks so much for the feedback. I used an iPhone 13 for all video clips (some iPhone photos). I shot with HDR turned off I believe and messed with the exposure and colors using a LUT called “Sedona” to give it a more saturated look that warmed the footage up a bit.
Great job story telling and awesome pics!
I have to say - that bear grass really sticks out to me as well! I'm glad it made it into a few pix with the mountain in the background
Beautiful video! 🙌
this doesn't have a million views?! beautiful work A++ video
Haha thanks! Really appreciate you taking the time to watch it

I have done Glacier Basin as both a day hike and a backpack trip--I really like it there too.

How many miles did it end up being with the side mission? Did you like going counter clockwise ?
Strava said like 120 miles but I think that was really far off. Realistically with the detours and little side hikes I think 105 is a good guess.
@ awesome Ty !
@ beautiful video!
