Such a horrible crime. I can't imagine the mindset of an individual who would furiously beat a woman ultimately killing her. Sadly, justice never prevailed for this poor soul. I can only hope that the her soul rests in forever peace, and his in forever hell. Thanks Oddie for another true crime story.👍🏽
Mmm... I could never agree with condemning anyone to rotting in hell, I researched that, and wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. Cause without God 's grace or being raised right, we could've easily ended up like this guy. I pray her soul is saved and that she suffers no more. I pray that he was also saved, but if he was, he's most likely suffering for a long time in Purgatory. Purgatory is as painful as hell, but the difference is that the souls there have consolation that someday it will end, unlike hell.

Ah yes, the old Kate and Tilly saga... I remember learning much more detail about them. That was after I spent a couple weeks watching dozens of hours of documentarys about the underground gangs of Australia. I have a friend who lives there and in her younger years, she was a waitress at a bar that was often frequented by these people. Of course I can't think of one single name right now, but these were bad dudes. They ran drugs, money laundering through their casinos, had many police officers on their payroll, the works... It was fascinating to learn about. I wish my memory worked better. Haha!!
Anyway, this is a tragic story. It's unfortunately way too common these days to see similar stories with similar endings here in the US. My mom is fortunate to have survived a few of these types of relationships. I could write a whole book just on this.

I became a fan of your videos for the artistry of your film-making. The stories are great, but I for one adore the music, the visual effects, the atmosphere created, the pauses to let the meaning of the story sink in. I was never interested in making videos until I saw yours, and saw the possibilities in story telling. Many of these stories are available on other channels without Oddie's artistry, but only new Oddie videos get me excited to watch and hear the story.
I may be in the minority, but I miss your "historicals" that tell stories that are poignant and strange rather than brutal and gory. I know the gory ones have their place, but the videos I return to again and again are your older videos. Regardless, love you Oddie. Merry Christmas!

It was a nice way of remembering the people not just an 'event' like a 'news story' would be cut and dry.
I bought my nice Oddie Christmas cup and can't wait to get it. That too helps our Oddie to continue to make videos here.
Anyway I hope anyone reading this might at least consider checking out Oddie's Paytreon and maybe consider surrporting one heck of an artist at what he does.

Although it is more work I want to provide more content. Actually these new format ones become longer in length as time goes on.

The inflection and emphasis placed on the word rent and how my brain took it as "Can you believe this bull?" "Sheese!!!"

I think people who commit a murder and claim temporary insanity (if the insanity is PROVEN, without a shadow of doubt), should at minimum be charged and convicted for manslaughter and do time!! IF TI cannot be proven beyond a shadow of doubt and it is a "well it could have happened", "it is a possibility", etc., then the jury should be given the options of the following options if there is supporting evidence it could have been the worst, plus any I did not mention:
1st degree murder
2nd degree murder
manslaughter
negligent homicide
attempted 1st degree and/or 2nd degree murder if applicable
and whatever else fits...and they should charge the lesser charges as well, basically throwing the book at them with charges, like assault and battery, reckless endangerment and whatever else they could be guilty of, so if the jury is uncertain about the larger charge, they can still do some time for their crime for at least some justice, and if jury does find guilty of the larger charges, find the guilty for the lesser charges, so the horribleness of the guilty party's actions are plain to see and they get as much time added on as is possible!!!!!
No, he was faking insanity. I dont believe in temporary insanity. He was just enraged and chose to kill her. Bad guy deserved to be hung for murder.

Such a tragic story. I am glad that Katherine's niece was able to get some measure of justice after that fiasco of a trial though. I had no idea about this, but apparently Australia has quite a history of true crime and also historical features, so definitely it seems you have an untapped resource at your disposal, Oddie! This format was still in the developmental stage when I created this particular video - as time went by I improved on it.
Afterwards the images were no longer covered up and I managed to fit the text in at the side. The length of the videos also increased.

I've been in love with your material for a few years now... I'll never forget the night I came across the videos about the french tax officer locking himself in his cellar and the turn-of-the-century New York architect that womanized the model and provoked her jealous boyfriend to kill her... I love your take on these tales and I believe it always came down to the ambience of the pictures/music/animations... etc.

I love how you use music, sound, and effects so well. It adds an amazing layer to the story and never feels “cheap” or over-sensationalized.
And l adore how much respect you give to the victims. It would be easy to just focus on the more lurid aspects, but you make sure we remember these were still people.

This was a sad, and all too common story…unfortunately, it is not uncommon in the world of today. It seems there is still an aura of shame that surrounds the victims of domestic violence and leaves it under reported. This poor woman was dealt a hard hand in life, and he was right there to take advantage of her misfortune. Thanks for sharing it with us Oddie, in your always masterful way. I see they were lacking in a very in-depth character investigation at the time, I will never understand a female that does not drop an abusive relationship at the first sign, thousands of deaths would be staved for common sense. Thank you for another one, Oddie...
There are many resons a person stays with an abussive relationship, the abuser brainwashes their victims, controls the money, isolates the person from my family members, maybe there is a child or children involved. " IF' you leave mr I'll kill you or I'll kill your child or children and so forth.
The 'controller' won't let them have a cell phone or computer or whatever is going on, it isn't always so easy to 'pick up and go' when you're beaten mentally esp. = plus mybe beaten in physical ways the control does to hide their actions as
much as possible.
I really enjoyed that video....as much as one can enjoy a video with those details!! Please do some more it would be really interesting!!! :)
