Lancer transmissions are tiny lol My 02 diamante AWD was having serious problems so thought it do an atf change, ran and shifted well after it was done till it cooled down and It became worse then before the next day While it was kind of drivable, it was having trouble going into first or reverse, once it would move, second gear would lock up completely while cold and up shifting to 3rd does nothing but slipping, kind of like it was going into neutral and would go into limp mode after a while of not finding a gear Going off the workshop manual, I've come to the conclusion it was the valve body so I'm currently in the process of stripping and cleaning it, thank you for the videos, they've been most informative
Your video is help full but you seem to forget those of us watching are not experienced and searching for help. But you fast forward parts that should not have been. I bounce back and forth between the service manual and your video from an un clear manual to a fast forwarded video. Whe you took apart the trans you removed the upper brake piston then some clutch plates n disks but how many and the order you n the manual are not clear. Then you removed wat you called a pressure plate which the manual calls a activator plate and one brake disks and the manual doesn’t show one disk bringing removed. When you Assemble that part you skipped over it like you had a problem with it I never shared it and then getting down to the clutches in steals you must ride over those two in fast forward. That leaves me n I’m sure lots of people wondering wat to do. Please if you can , tell me the order and how many clutches n steels from that point starting with the lil wave spring. Been working in my trans for a week now trying to figure it out. Thanks
Hey Matt thanks for the effort to make a video guide for the Hyundai KIA Mitsubishi transmission. Q What repair manual are you following it looks great ?
Probably about 5 or so years only. And I don't even work on these things every day. There are a lot more experienced people than I am. I do have an intense interest in them however and put forth a lot of effort to learn everything I can about them.
I know that others already asked, but could you please tell the thickness of the needed special tool MB991631? It seems that it can easily be laser cut out of sheet metal.
@@smallenginevidz7754 You describe really big problem. I know several people who's unable to perform good repair because of this tool - there is simply no place to take it. And if you repair the transmission by yourself (no working on it as professional service), then it is impractical to deliver it from USA because it is easier and cheaper to replace the entire transmission :( And interestingly, no one writes anywhere about its thickness in order to make something similar by himself. There is no accurate information anywhere on the Internet. Thank you for the information. I very grateful to you!

Transmission on car, the rear cover on mine will not allow the reinstall of the rear cover. Now, I had a gear slipping before the removal of the cover. I'm not a transmission guy, but it sounds like I've had a snap ring or two bust, allowing the plates and whatnot to spring outboard, inhibiting the reinstallation of the rear cover. This sucks. Now, it sounds like I have to drop it out and rebuild it. I'm totally open to comments.
After going through the entire transmission and double checking the diagrams in the manual, I concluded that the washer was a completely foreign washer that must have fallen in accidentally during the last time it was rebuilt.
Посмотрел все твои видео.👍
Respect.

part 5 please I want to know where the accumulator is placed and its specific colors
Does the transmission kit comes with a manual and what company you purchased it from or are there websites to buy manuals on different transmissions
How thick are those special tools? they don't look like they'd be too hard to build
Can you please tell me in this particular transmission where is filter located. I need replace oil and filter on my car. Thanks Alex .

Q What repair manual are you following it looks great ?
I believe I just typed "F4A42 transmission rebuild manual pdf" in google and it popped right up. I printed it out.
Thanks Mat, got it.

Yup that's it!
How many years to you need to be around transmissions in order to be this knowledgeable about making this kind of repair?
Depends on many factors, so it is hard to answer that question!

It looks like this is the main secret of the transmission) did you manage to find out the thickness of the tool?
I had to import the tool MB991631 from an american seller and pay a lot for the shipping only to find out that it is exactly 2 mm thick.

Is this tool totally necessary to reassemble the clutches?
I have steels and 2 step steels and then 3 different thicknesses of other plates. Which one is which?
Is this an auto transmission?
Yep relatively easy tranny too

Do you know it this torque converter is limited to 245Nm?
question i saw you take out 2 wave rings and only put 1 back in is the new wave ring thicker
+martiniiiw Where did you see me do that? What time in the video?
What became of the bent washer you found at the beginning?
After going through the entire transmission and double checking the diagrams in the manual, I concluded that the washer was a completely foreign washer that must have fallen in accidentally during the last time it was rebuilt.
goooooood man
when installing the piston has damaged the rubber seal on the oil inlet in the piston as the seal is replaced?
+Андрей Климов If you damage the seal while installing you need to replace it.
+MattsMotorz it can be replaced without removing the hydraulic unit?
It depends which one it is. All but one of them can be replaced with the valvebody on if I remember correctly.
+MattsMotorz did not understand the difficulties of translation :) ) thank you anyway !
+MattsMotorz Another question is whether the seal fit of hyundai numbered 4567539501na automatic transmission f4a42 mitsubishi carisma?
Shouldn't all of the parts been covered with ATF during assembly? that is what most manuals say
Olá boa tarde
