The dynamic duo in the first bout was robbed. Yeah, everybody knows what a Chandler's wobble is. Meanwhile, Pa was reaching into the pockets of kid in the red with the specs. "It's B." "But this is real money..." ...that we don't win anyway, the yutz you're making out of us for THE pop album of that period! Why don't you tell us where the pollen comes from later on? 🙄
Big time. Not too willing to confer with his son who was intelligently expressing concern over going with a lifeline's guess of only 50-50. Because he was a science teacher, the father wouldn't even consider an alternative.
I bet the first dad "Rob", keeps the family in stitches ! I think the last time he smiled, was during a proctologist visit, back in the mid 70's. He has the jovial personality of a spit cup.
12:03 I rediscovered this show last year when I was recovering in the hospital from my stomach surgery. I actually watched a few episodes whenever it was on in the morning.
It took me a minute to figure out if it was before releasing Oops but then I was like "how the hell they could know the album title if it hasn't been officially released?" xD so yeah, B
I like how Regis keep teasing him about his girlfriend. 😆 I know the feeling! I was 10 in 2000 and this girl in my class phoned me telling me she likes me a lot and wanted us to hold hands and hug when I saw her tomorrow. Don’t know how she got my number but my younger cousin picked up the other phone and heard our conversation. Then I got teased about my “girlfriend” from my family for months. My dad was proud. 😄 Ahh the early late 90’s and early 2000s, the years when getting teased and calling people gay was a norm and we just accepted it.
Indeed, for the $64,000 question, Bob Marley had to be among one of the two removed using 50:50, since he was long dead by then. (Bob Marley died in 1981, and Arthur didn't premiere until 1996.)
It seems that every time a contestant uses the 50-50 option, the computer leaves behind the two possible answers that a contestant mentioned earlier on. If I was on that show, I would never think out loud like that because it’s so obvious that when you choose 50-50 after thinking out loud and narrowing it down to two choices, they leave the two responses on the screen that you were leaning towards. This happens all the time if you watch enough clips!
It doesn't work that way, the computer always leaves the "best" or most logical wrong answer. For instance, the pistil is the female sex organ of a plant, the stamen is male so obviously pistil and stamen will remain.
@@doubledthread56 It wasn't random at this point in the show's run, but it also wasn't a reaction to the player's comments. Years later on the syndicated version they started actually randomizing them, but before that the two answers that would be eliminated in a 50:50 (or in other words, the one wrong answer that will stay) were chosen in advance when the question was written. The reason it often seems like it's reacting to the contestant is that they typically chose to leave the most logical-sounding wrong answer up (especially at the higher difficulties where you'd actually be using lifelines), and a player who's talking it out will often be on the right track and be able to eliminate the most obviously wrong answers, so if they're going down the same logic path that the writers planned, the 50:50 won't be helpful.
Wow that dad should've listened to his son......it's STAMEN! Not only did he completely WASTE all 3 lifelines, but he also lost because he didn't listen to his son..
Haha, Peyton cracks me up, don't think they ever did this in the UK. Mind you, they didn't do a 100 year old woman winning a mototbike like they did on 'The Price Is Right' which I watched on TV in Vegas - brilliant!
What has been amazing me for the past 13 years I've been watching Millionaire is the fact when Regis does the Fastest Finger, the two computers in the middle are aligned with each other. I wonder where that thing is now....
I don't understand the second contestants. They weren't even half way thru and they used ALL their lifelines! And 2 on one question!! Damn. I mean, the son is ADORABLE, but still.
I know! He should've had more trust in his kid he seemed really confident on the Britney Spears question. But he just got outright trolled on the plant question LOL
What was the father thinking going on the $125,000 question. The teacher said he was 50% sure but didn't say what was the other 50%. 50% isn't very confident at all. The kid knew he wasn't that confident but the dad was stubborn. He was also a gambler I guess but I don't think it was smart.
0:26 From ABC studios in New York, is the America’s quiz show to win up to $1 million. Is time for thanksgiving edition of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. And now here’s your host the star of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, Regis Philbin.
I was really sure that Stamen was correct. I did it in science at school, I can't believe the dad decided to chose answer B! I'd never forgive him for losing $15,000!!
I completely agree. After Rob stated that he was going to go for Frisbee, Regis seemed to try to back them out of it like you said. "Nonono! I don't wanna talk you in on it" and "He should know but he wasn't sure"
Only one person got the first question correct as the question was poorly worded and unclear. The Flintstones (1960) was based on the original The Honeymooners (1955) but the time periods the shows portrayed were reversed.
its clear most of the questions are kid aimed questions like frisby school skipping bugs life and many more... man i wish i could have been on this episode im an adult but i knew all the kids answers and the ones a kid wouldnt know
* seeing the thumbnail include a kid and a Jared from Subway reference *
Well that didn't age well lol
Thumbs up if you thought the kid in the thumbnail was some genius contestant lol.
I thought he was a little person
@@dianad6090 / well he looks about 7 , so I'd say you're right!
I honestly thought that child was from both Stuart little and the vampire 🧛♀️ kid

Ha well the question in the thumbnail wasn't exactly one for a genius
That second duo did exactly what Michael Shutterly did on his Champions run. Answered pistil when it was stamen.
That first dad looks like he's about as much fun as a tax audit!
Big time. Not too willing to confer with his son who was intelligently expressing concern over going with a lifeline's guess of only 50-50. Because he was a science teacher, the father wouldn't even consider an alternative.
maybe cause he got audited by the first millionaire
@tori
I'm four years older and I still haven't a clue.
@@richarddarlington1139 Lol I like your grand return
It's like he was doing a boring Bruce Willis impression and then the wind blew and he got stuck that way.
That mother Lisa at the end was so loving. Wish I could meet a woman like that. Seems so pure and authentic.
She was a dime for sure. But she didn't know what city the Declaration of Independence was signed smh
She's adorable
Hahaha, "Michael do you really love this girl?!" Gotta love Regis!

1st pair was cool.
The dad was taking it cool. The kid was funny too. :P
🤣

The science teacher 😂😂🤦🏻♂️
“Can we do a 50/50, please” said the accountant, merrily
- B!
- Are you a Britney Spears fan?
- No xD
Peyton was a savage on those questions!
So weird watching these kids who are likely in their 30s by now
anything else wiierd
one does't start a sentence with "SO"it just doesn't work
Nope
he did it tho
As a science major, I remembered Stamen as the male part of the flower (where the pollen is). The pollen is semen. Stamen = Semen = Pollen.
I remember this episode I was 24yrs old at the time, time sure does fly fast
..wow
A science teacher didn’t know the Chandler Wobble... he’s fired!
I took astronomy and got pretty into it even sold 7mil worth of telescope equipment in 5 years, and only knew of it as precessionary wobble
Public schools at work
Lmfao dad...Even in 2017, I still knew that Britney Spears answer.
It took me a minute to figure out if it was before releasing Oops but then I was like "how the hell they could know the album title if it hasn't been officially released?" xD so yeah, B
Who's gonna give his name to the wobbling effect of a fucking frisbee? What kind of scientific discovery would that be? Of course it's Earth.
Actually, if the answer was frisbee, it would probably be only one of the objects that displayed this effect.

The syndicated shows have a significantly smaller budget than the primetime shows on abc. That's why the questions are much tougher now.
The Chandler Wobble Question was most likely a toughie, I presumably would have gone with either Earth or Soap Bubble on that one.
lol why would a soap bubble have a wobble?
Why did the second family not walk away on the last one
