@@lalie9995 lmfao I don't, I'm at Disney now and I'm quite hungry 🤣 I would literally rather starve than beholden to the dining plan. Nice comeback though
The dining plan isn't worth it at the moment. I had an 8 night stay that would have been $3771.20 using the regular dining plan for 5 people. Combining all our gifts, Genie+ Lightning Lane purchases, and meals with tips including Rose & Crown Fireworks package and Space 220 (dining plan not accepted for either) we spent around $3300.
I remember the original dining plan in early 2000’s. We saved so much money and that’s why they didn’t keep it that way for very long. One 7day trip we saved over $1,000 on food by paying for the dining plan
Most folks criticize the DDP. I would be interested in a AllEars video showing how to maximize the DDP. Carefully using snack credits for breakfast & enjoying a cocktail with dinne, never wasting table service credits on Signature Dining, one can make the most of the DDP.
We don't stick to an eating schedule, prefer flexibility, and wife and I occasionally do intermittent fasting, sharing meals or just doing at most two meals a day; SO the DDP just does not make sense for us.
Imo if you need to be beautiful minding every meal on vacation, it's not a deal. You're better off paying cash or buying discounted Disney gift cards from Sam's club.
Thank you! I’ve tried to tell people that if you manage it well it can pay for itself and be more than worth it! It’s far more convenient than just waiting until you get home to see how much you spent.
I feel like that is misleading. You may have spent more than you would have if you had paid as you went, but if you ate at all then you likely did not waste $500. I think if you strategies as you recomended, you could save money, but that would devalue the plan for me. I like the plan bc it makes the trip feel more inclusive. I can eat whatever I want without worrying about the cost. If I was paying out of pocket, I probably would play it safe and be less likely to try new things or order less expensive options then what I would get on the plan. Not everyone will save, I suspect most will not, but I think it still might be a good choice for some.
I told my mom the dining plan was back as an incentive to stay in the parks where my sisters want to stay. I hope she didn’t take my advice when she booked.
no it's not worth it. In fact I wouldn't eat anything in the park. There is not one single food there that I actually enjoyed. Everything there is so crazy overpriced that it's hard to enjoy anything.
At what point is it worth deciding to not bother and just enjoy your holiday without trying to make it pay for itself
When you have enough money to do that

I'd rather just pay out of pocket that try to worry about credits and hitting my value
Does dole whip qualify as a snack?
Can't imagine eating quick service when all the restaurants are so much more amazing
Thank you this helps my family plan our trip we are all so excited to go
I’m mad that you can’t trade in meal credits for snack credits anymore.

They didn’t have the meal plan when I went two years ago.
Omg I am leaving tomorrow!! I really wish I could have met you guys!! I will be at HS later tonight!

Disney Gift Cards from Target are also a good deal.
