Hey Matt aside from the fact that the Clutch and Clutch XL are water based, how does this compare with them? Does it hold as well, and does it provide that same texture?
I’d say the hold level is similar to regular Clutch, and yeah same great texture. My favorite thing about Fuertes is how soft and conditioned my hair feels with it in too.
How about Fire and Brimstone to comparison?
Thanks for the video. Your skin looks great , poreless and bright but not oily. Can you recommend matt finish Spf moisturiser for oily skin?
Thanks! I’ve just been using the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream moisturizer, and when I want spf I put on some CC Cream by It Cosmetics. It’s also got an anti-aging serum and 50spf in it so it’s pretty awesome!

Dear Mat, i have just try Lab Series Pro Ls All In One Face Hydrating Gel. It is really good for very hot days. It is very light and it has matt finish. If you have a chance, you should try.

Sure, this should work on thin hair! Just be sure to use a small amount as a little goes a long way. And yes Apothecary 87 is on my to-do list - should hopefully be arriving in the mail soon!

Hey Matt. I just ordered this a few days ago, but in the mean time I’ve read a lot of reviews saying that this product can get kind of oily. I’ve used Cavalier clay in the past and that was way too greasy for me. Is this similar in terms of oiliness?
Hey Brad! I actually experience the same thing with Cavalier - for me it gets very oily by the end of the day. I don’t have that problem with Fuertes, as long as you don’t use too much. It is an oil-based clay, so a little bit goes a long way. Just use tiny scoops and you’ll be golden - usually I find that just one finger tip sized scoop is plenty for me, and it stays matte. It can get oily though if you go in with way too much product.

I am curious, have you ever thought about doing a mass review of store bought/ cvs style hair products. Like Old Spice, Axe, etc. Like Alpha.m did? I prefer your videos and would love to know your thoughts about all those products.

I Just received my fuertes clay today after seeing this review. You are absolutely right about every thing you said in this video. Excellent clay, and thanks for the recommendation. One thing I noticed is, this is very similar to Patrick M3, although they have different composition, the look and feel very alike. Would you mind doing like a comparison between these 2?

Hey love your reviews! I’m undecided whether to buy clutch Xl, clutch or Stickmore clay.
I want something with great pliable hold but easy to wash out and has nourishing indredients also. Can you help me out? (Btw I have regularly thick wavy hair which lacks volume sometimes)
Maybe try the Fuertes clay? use it as a pre styler and blow-dry it and it will add hold, add a little afterwards and you will be set for a few days :)

As a person with thick, wavy, sometimes heavy hair myself, I can say that I think this clay will work great for you. Just be sure to start with a small amount - a little goes a long way.

All of them are great imo. I prefer regular Clutch over XL. Stickmore is awesome too, a bit harder to wash out but really great hold and texture. It’s hard to pick a favorite cause I like all of them lol
Running out of my moroccanoil texture clay, your review makes me want to try this one out! It really seems like a great product. Baxter of California was, at least for me, too heavy and greasy but this stuff seems really awesome man! The ingredients in it are the best too
Yeah man I like the Fuertes clay wayyy more than the Moroccanoil personally. I think you’ll like it!
TDM Style you think this is good for medium / thin hair? Not too heavy?
For sure! It’s def not heavy. Just use a tiny amount - a little goes a long way and if you use too much it can get a little greasy.
TDM Style I just ordered it on their website. I hope it'll be at least as good for texture and hold as the moroccanoil texture clay that I'm using at the moment. Even though, I am cocktailing that with a bit of the hanz de fuko heavymade, for extra hold, and a tad bit smoothness.
Either way, looking at the ingredient list, fuertes has both, bentonite and kaolin clay in it.. So it should give plenty of texture.
Excited to try it out. Love the natural ingredients, and, even though moroccanoil is water based, I wash my hair with a light shampoo almost every night, so I don't mind that this is oil based.

How does it compare to Morris Motley Strong Matte Styling Balm? Thanks
I’ve only used the regular MM styling balm, which is 1000% different than this. The MM stuff is water-based for starters. You can’t really compare the two. Fuertes styling balm would be more comparable to MM than the clay.
@@TDMStyle thank you for your fast replying. I don’t know because I thought the Strong Matte Styling Balm is consodered as Clay Wax. How do you actually rank this Fuertes Clay over other oil-based clay such as 18.21 Wax, Kevin Murphy Rough Rider, Bluuman Cavalier Clay…?
How does this compare to cavalier clay? Need very strong hold for thick wavy hair to control
Imo Fuertes completely blows Cavalier away. This is much lighter in the hair, doesn’t get heavy or greasy later in the day, and is much easier to apply. I have thick wavy hair myself so you can see in the demo how well it performed. 🙌🏻
TDM Style does it have a stronger hold than cavalier? As i am looking for a good alternative, love your reviews btw

Ahmad Jabal hey there! Fuertes here. I have received emails from people from Florida and California where as you know it’s hot and sometimes very humid. They said it withstands the heat and humid very well. As far as thin hair it should work fine, use very little as you don’t want to make it too heavy. I recommend you use it as a pre styler so when you blow dry it it will add volume. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to reach to me.

Those are vastly different products so it depends on what you want for hold etc.

You would probably have better luck with his Styling Balm - the clay might be a bit too oily for fine hair.

They are quite different. Clutch is water-based while this is not, and while they do both provide good hold and a matte finish, they style very differently. I like both!

How does Fuertes compare to Clutch for texture ? Thanks :)
Tough to say, but are great on the texture front. For me Clutch has a bit more hold and stickiness, while Fuertes feels more soft.

TDM Style hmm... Ok I found clutch to dry up a little for me.. not the case with this one?? Figure it probably doesn't dry up due to the oil base.
True, being water-based Clutch does go through more of a shift as it dries. This one the finish lifts a bit to look more matte than at first, but def doesn’t dry up. Stays super soft and pliable all day.

Wow!!! So funny, I just formulated a styling clay that I would say is a hybrid between Furetes and Mailroom Barber Clay Pomade. Took me over 42 test batches to get it right!!😂
Damn you are ruining my bank account, the urge to order these products is too damn high after these great reviews.
Do you coctail products? I've been using blumaans hybrid to coctail with some of the harder-to-apply products and it works really well - tho it is a pricey product for the sole purpose of coctailing.
Haha I know that feel man. I cocktail once in a while, but more often I just test out different combos of pre and post stylers rather than mixing two products together in one go.

Hmm, I’ve gotten a few requests for some P&P products but tbh I’m not really into the brand since their stuff is all white label. Not saying they’re bad or anything, it just doesn’t feel fair to review them when their products are the exact same as several other brands.
