Bike or no bike, massively entertaining and always worth the watch. Hope you’re doing okay Daz and like most of us, trying to enjoy the summer as best we can. 😎👍
Hi Steve, I enjoy filming, what ever the subject. It's trying to tell the story that can be the tricky part. I have a day off today so me and Mike will probably head out towards Bolton Abbey . Nice day for it...
@@MrDazP1adv3ntures oh it’s got me hooked, wishing my weekdays away to just get out in the highlands at the weekend. Nice wee spot you found there, pity you didn’t have your sniping gear.
Long time since i seen one of your videos buddy av been busy since moving bk to Manchester from Doncaster got plenty of catching up to do on your videos cracking first video to watch in ages plenty of shiny stuff .
All the best with your move to sunny Manchester. I've had a few trips out to the rivers this year and really enjoyed the peace and quiet that you get with gold panning. If only the river Irwell had gold in it 👍🙂
I moved bk about 3 years ago buddy we used to talk on your channel my old youtube name was Aaron Kelly until i changed it when i launched my own youtube food review channel you will remember me as Aaron buddy@@MrDazP1adv3ntures
It's a funny old place up there. I have met people with show cases full of nuggets but I guess you need to be a local and keep clearing the same spot until it's just bedrock.
Bet the fish love the stirred up sediment and bugs! Tennesee here,USA,not many places to even fish streams like we did as kids, landowners even call troopers for kids fishing off bridges in land we waded streams to fish in growing up in 100 degrees to cool off, nothing built near then, now fences block everybody, cameras, etc! Huge Lakes still open but not as fun as kids like to explore, lol!
There are some nice looking fish in this river but it has been heavily polluted over the centuries from mining. Mind you with it being Scotland, there's plenty of bugs like you say .
I admire your enthusiasm Andy. I know that there are so many prospectors out there, who find much bigger pieces but all I can do Is to try my best and keep on searching..
@MrDazP1adv3ntures I don't want to say to much on comment daz you on Facebook matey but just a little bit what I want to ask is about Scotland and the equipment I have daz. will explain more at some point thanks for your reply 👍 keep the hard work up daz.
Really interested in taking our little boy out panning in the lake district. We live in the lakes. Just wondering if there are any permits or rules we need to follow. Permission? Otherwise can we just go have a go with a pan. I know of a few good locations eastern and central lakes, in the volcanic groups and quartz zones.
Where ever possible I would seek permission but that can be easier said than done. Personally, I'd go for a picnic and find a lovely quiet spot where nobody will bother you and you are out of site and out of mind. You may see the odd sign stipulating no fishing, but never no panning - unless you are in certain parts of Wales.
Thank you for the advice 😊 I was thinking something like that might be the best approach. Just come across your channel, probably going to watch a few episodes. Thanks
Hi Chris I did not way the gold, in fact I tend to leave it in the snuffer bottle in my back pack and then realise what I have done when I go out on my next trip. It wouldn't have been much though as all I need is just enough visible gold in the pan to make a video.
Hi Bobby, Unfortunately I never got the opportunity on this trip as I just went panning every day and put all of my finds into a separate snuffer bottle after taking the final pan pics. In fact I need to empty it out now ready for my next visit to a river.
I dare say large nuggets have been found here over the centuries. I doubt it though that I would find such a piece by sifting through the river gravels as I did on this session. You need to be sniping or using specialist detectors to find big gold nowadays. Or you need to be shifting tonnes of rocks to get to bedrock where the gold can become lodged in crevices

There are nuggets in the UK and most places have been exploited by the Romans and the old timers before our modern era old timers. I think that some of the better pieces are found with metal detectors over here and the locations are never really shared. This area can still produce descent pickers and nuggets, but you have to keep working the sections and going back to them time and time again, leaving no stone unturned. I have sniped a few times and the pieces do get better 👍
Great hobby in nice weather but how much an hour are you making with the gold you find? Seems a hell of an effort for not alot of gold. Hope you get a huge nugget sometime 😂
Hi Puffball, it's one of them hobbies where the reward is the sense of adventure it gives you. Even on good days, I dare say you could find a handsome amount of gold that would have some potential value. I just love filming my time spent at the river and telling the story 🙂👍
@MrDazP1adv3ntures I met a guy panning on the hills at Loch Rannoch said he got enough gold for a wedding ring pretty cool story didn't say how many years he had been at it 😄
@Puffball-ll1ly These are proper stories my friend, most people will try to find enough gold to make a wedding band with and I find this such a romantic way of making your own ring. Every gram of gold was earned from blood, sweat and tears and will mean so much more to the people who chose this method of declaring a true union with a partner.👍👍👍👍
Hi Jbss, it's such a grey area. The land owner may not own the river. The river owner may not own the land. Neither may own the mineral rights. It's a good job that I always put the gold back to keep the hobby sustainable 👍

Thanks Chambochambers. I didn't start sluicing until about 2:30pm on this session so all in all it was a fair pan for the amount of work I put in.
As always, another great production from Daz......nothing more exciting than anticipation on what's below your feet.
Yes that's right, you just never know what kind of day you will have, but with the sun shining and blue skies, it makes for a good one either way 👍

There's quite a fair bit of consistent small gold on this spot with odd bigger piece.
I'll settle for that 👍
You found some beautiful spots there 👍
I stumbled upon it Steve and thought it was worth a prospect
Short travelled gold ftom the look of it. Nice work.
There was a lot of wire gold in the pan and even the tiny pieces looked course with the lens on full macro.
Nice work and gold from Skotland keep on ❤ 🇩🇰

Sure thing James. The water was exceptionally clear on this day.
