It’s actually possible to survive a Terror Fiend’s instant kill attack without a shield. The maximum HP possible in the game is 424, with level 50 vampire and max food buffs. If three miis use sacrifice on another Mii, then it seems to negate 1/3 of the damage for all of the protecting miis, lowering the damage taken to 333. So in theory, it’s possible to survive a terror fiend hit with a level 50 vampire with at least 9+ HP food buff. Edit: Pin Me

@@MeiCake yeah. Although there have been yogurt couple times where it didn't work, I've found that it works against fiends, dark lord replicas (as long as they aren't a boss), or a monster that kills one of your friends.
And this, this is why my team is the worst, everytime we're fighting those DEMONS that do flippin 999 DMG, They're like: I'LL PROTECC U! and then they all die. WHY MII'S, WHY!?
I had everyone at level 23 for Darkest (save one at 22), save your HP sprinkles for the last phase and spread out your shields on the second hand by also using the safe spot (and, of course, don't be ashamed to hyper your cat/warrior). If you need a nice grind, go left towards the floating island that's off the path - the last battle on the "Snurp hunt!" branch there has a chance to be Rare or even Very Rare Snurps. (Hyper sprinkles on your AoE miis like pop star, flower, or thief are great for this, as you do 3 damage instead of 1; having a vampire is also great here because their curse ignores the snurps' high defense) As for the first Dark Lord, I don't remember what level I was... try to get to like 15 maybe?
Fun fact, if someone on your party has more than 333 hp and all 3 go on sacrifice, that is the only way that someone can survive an direct attack from a terror fiend.

Ohhh I had this happen to me in the DS version. Put my friends as characters and myself, they all protected me, bawled my eyes out even though its just a game ;w; I got really emotionally invested. Also had it where I died, and all 3 friends looked over to my corpse before instantly destroying the enemy in unison. Might upload the clip as I recorded it.
This happened to me once... There were also 2 Terror Fiends...And guess what? I WAS TRAINING SOME UNDER-LEVELLED TEAMMATES , AND WHAT'S MORE, THE TERROR FIENDS GOT 2 GOES *EACH*
I have never seen anything this unlucky before, The only thing that I have seen come close is my Mii's coming back with mp candy 4 times in a row(3ds version)
@@adamnakamura8003 Oh it's just the Popstar's revive, It has a chance to bring back your whole party to one health. Clerics are generally better at healing, and while I think popstars are quite versatile I would not recommend having one on your party unless it's the hero (because the popstar AI is the worst).
@@adamnakamura8003 And in terms of insta-kill abilities, both Imp and Chef get the same at higher levels (Though the Imp's is far less reliable with a 20% success rate). And as an added bonus despite receiving bonuses from the magic stat, all of the Vampire's attacks count as physical so they are amazing at clearing out fiends. Not to mention they can get back up by themselves!
@Cosmo's Corner Oops! I forgot that was a pop star ability. I have almost all of the classes and I still find a good use for every one of them. Heck, a female Popstar (named Saiya) was a part of the same party that killed the final boss. The use of Love Song helped my party do the best damage and, even if it ain’t a guarantee like Giga Resurrection, it’s great to have a revive on standby in the form of Angelic Voice, especially since it’s an AOE REVIVE!! That is something I’d kill for in any RPG!
A similar thing happened to me in the Crater world. I was trying to beat the pro route in that one level. Than, two party members decided to halfsies a one hit kill on me, so they took it 499/500. Good deal, they were my strongest party members.

I really wish they'd updated the game a little bit to split the Magic stat into Magic Attack and Magic Defense. If just because mages would be more useful during a Fiend encounter. The reason they do 999 damage with that attack is because their Magic stat is probably 999 or something. And since that stat pulls double duty in determining magical attack AND defense, it's why stuff like the horse Snort (and Mage spells) do a mesely 1 damage. Doesn't help mages in tanking that attack either since even their Magic stat can't go high enough to make a difference. Weirdly, a Cleric can still affect them with Righteous Anger despite their Magic stat. So that's neat!
this has happened to me too. Except it was my popstar. Who only did Angelic Voice or whatever when another party member dies. So I revive my cleric and then the terror fiend immediately kills my cleric again. Thankfully Angelic Voice finally worked and revived my warrior who killed the terror fiend

Damage also can get reduced if a mii is in a good mood or if they have mage or elf barriers
