  • We've been asked so many times why we have chosen not to show our kids faces online. In this episode, we discuss it. There's more to talk about, so we'll probably revisit this topic. But for now, we give the main reason we don't show our children online.

    So glad y’all are back!!!
I have noticed some of my friends on social media aren’t posting their kids faces anymore. More so as the children get older and maybe don’t want their parents to show pictures. Because let’s face it, stuff that we as parents or grandparents find cute and adorable, may not be so for the child.
My own adult children don’t post many pictures of my grandkids anymore so I have adopted that as well and don’t post their pictures either and have decided if I want to, I will ask my grandchildren (the older two) if it’s ok and I’ll ask the parents if it’s ok to post the baby. I do miss showing off my grandkids but feel like this is the right thing to do. 😊
thank y’all for sharing your perspective.

I think it is a blessing & a beautiful thing that u get to make ur own decisions for u & ur family. I was raised Catholic & even though I don't believe in certain things I do believe God thinks that we all should be able to make our decisions for our family NO MATTER WHAT IT IS & WE SHOULD ALL BE ACCEPTING TO OTHER PEOPLE'S DECISIONS. Unfortunately, we live in a society that PICKS & CHOOSES what individual families/mother's can choose for their family. They will be adults soon enough and can make those choices for themselves, but in the meantime, it is imperative that we protect and nurture who they are as children. You can never go wrong when erring on the side of caution and restraint.

I post my kids but limited it to milestones, achievements, or small fun things. As they are now older and able to express themselves more, I always ask their permission and make sure they are comfortable with the post and picture. Sometimes they want me to share something they did or achieved, but they don't want themselves pictured, so we post about it in a way to celebrate them without a picture of them. We are careful to make sure if other children happen to be in a post even in the background that they are covered or cropped out. Edited to add if my children come back after a post and change their mind and want it taken down, we do it without question or complaint. We also ask our family to respect these same rules in regards to our children.
I love how you both have truly thought, discussed, and come to what you feel is right for your family and girls. ❤

@rootelation486 Oh, I know the internet is sadly forever. It's something we have had a serious talk with our kids about as well. I normally only post images without them on the day the actual event or milestone happened. If they want to be in the photos, I wait 2 to 5 days to post in order to keep certain info private. Instead of saying last Thursday, yesterday, or the date, I make it vague. I'll say things like a week or so ago, not too long ago, or a bit ago. I also try not to have background markers or landmarks in photos as well. ❤️❤️❤️

Good move too much happening on the net. Many good minded people want to see your kids growing up like they did with you. Buts it's the people that are not good minded people that are scary.

I highly commend you guys for keeping your children of social media. I’m a 2000 baby, and I would also never give my children unlimited acess to social media as all my friends were once groomed online or by men met online, and it’s just awful

Hey guys! I would love to hear you all talk about marriage and some things that have major marriage, stronger, some things that you all have had to work through with regard to your marriage, and just a little bit about what your expectations were versus the realities of marriage. I just don’t know that many Christians talk candidly about that. Thank you.

we only got to see your first daughter on tv never your 2nd kid. but i understand why you don't show them. but what i hate is you show them but you cover there faces with a emote yet if someone wanted to do something to your kid they don't need there face to know what they look like to find and do. cause they see there body and there hair. but i hope you stil film your kids doing fun stuff for just you all to enjoy and not miss out on having. you all take care and do what you think is right for you all. :) thanks for telling us why you choice to do so after being on tv for a while.

Smart move J&J. Human trafficking is still happening. By not showing your children, it helps to protect them. Why do so many advertise their children?

What about all the child porn her own brother downloaded? Do you think those children willingly engaged in it? Her brother consumed this stuff and someone made it for him to easily find and download. So the Duggars’ kids and grandkids are NOT all perfectly fine!

Curious, as I’m sure other fans are… in light of recently released photos of your eldest sister that seem rather staged… How was your engagement promoted through the media? And, what if anything, did you guys receive for it? Was there any sort of financial benefit? Obviously, someone prospered off your televised engagement and wedding. When offers came in… did they come to you guys or someone else? Where did the money go?
