I would say just flip a coin. There is no wrong choice.
Just got a 23 .crv... love it... i had two previous accords
Nothing says passion like a flip of a coin
I got the ‘23 Sport Touring Hybrid about a month ago. Let’s face it, you have the two biggest segment leaders here. Like Ben said you can’t go wrong with either vehicle it’s just a matter of preference. I drove a lot of vehicles and found the CRV HB to be the most refined drive out of all the many SUV’s in this segment I tested. Does it bother me that Honda could not find the space for a spare tire on a total brand new redesigned CRV .... YUP. Despite that I bought it anyway. I can’t remember the last time I used a spare in any car I’ve owned. There ... I just jinx’s myself. 😊
But there is a correct choice, Toyota every time
I don't know.. our last CRV shit the bed before it hit 200,000 miles. We just put our deposit down on the 23 RAV4.
I respect your dedication. Making video in rain, huge respect
I’ve had my ‘23 CRV EX-L for over 3 months and I love it. It’s very spacious and driving it is so smooth. It also looks so nice. I just love it overall. Worth it.
Just bought a 23 too... love it
Does crv has blind spot detector
@fijijames3167 I test drove the touring model at the dealership yesterday and they do have a blind spot indicator on the rear view mirror
@@fijijames3167 yes it does!
@@rosemarieexbby but in the website in the features it doesn't shows and also i went to the showroom and they never had in the sport version.
Great comparison review!!!!
I am Toyota guy .. but this crv looks better overall and has more room and it a little cheaper also
Exactly, for me the I prefer the slightly bigger size of the crv, tbh, overall design, but I just can’t my mind off my 4Runner, prices just crazy, even now still smh,
Toyota rav4 is my choice and will be buying one very soon
Insane cars Ben !! ❤❤
I like the exterior of the Toyota but the interior better on the Honda.
I’m not too concerned about interior or exterior. I’m concerned about all the mechanicals. There is where Toyota is clearly superior.
one thing to keep in mind that the multimedia system is better in the toyota with the digital cluster etc...
You didn’t answer the question. Which one is better in your opinion.
RAV4 wait time is crazy with over a year to 18 months in Canada at some dealerships and inflated charges on accessories, CRV comes with turbo which can be concern in long term as turbos aren’t reliable enough. Only option one can think over is Mazda or Subaru to an extent while retaining reliability with automatic transmission rather than CVT in Mazda but only con is lower resale for Mazda compared to Toyota
The EX-L is the top trim if you don't want a hybrid :) seriously considering one of these in the next few weeks. Difficult decision, great video on the differences!
What did you end up choosing
US News ranks the CRV 10th out of 14. The Mazda CX5 is number one
Thumbs up and a comment for enduring ::: thunder and lightning & the show must go on
This is too tough of a decision 🤔. I think both of these SUV’s are the best in their own ways this year
I just bought the Honda sport CRV hybrid Three days ago. I drove on the highway and it was quite quiet and ride pretty smooth, The car I traded in was a Honda Accord and it drove like a tractor it was noisy and I could feel every little bump. I was tired on the day that I actually Purchased the car as I had to drive a long way to find A CRV that wasn't prepaid So I did not ask a lot of questions but I had done quite a bit of research online, read comment sections of UA-cam videos comparing the Ralph 4 and the Hyundai Santa Fe and the Toyota venza. I do not like the fact that you don't have button for the trunk to open or close it, Towing capacity is only a 1000 pounds that really limits anything you could possibly want to tow. The back seat does fold down for cargo but doesnt go flat, forget being able to sleep in it if you camping unless you get some sort of customized matress or something.. i do love the larger size cabin and windows and its does have sun roof. A lot of people are talking about all of the pros and cons of engines and batteries and I'm not sure any of it or all of it is true....not sure what the B drive is for or how to use.it😮..trade in for my accord was excellent for a 6 year old car!! After 6 years essentially paid 7k to drive for 6 years.. ($100)/ mo!
A fewyears back we shopped the full class of these SUVs, Mazda, Toyota, Hyundai/Kia, Honda, all of them and they are all so very closely matched. We had some really good history with Honda and, while at that time, the previous gen CR-V, to me wasn't as good looking, it was much much better to drive, in both my wife and my opinions. We went Cr-V, and we're now on our 2nd one which is a '22 Hybrid EX-L (still previous Gen) but the new gen wasn't available yet and was afew thousand more $$$.
If you get a new RAV4, I suggest not pre-buying sight unseen. I have a few fitment issues inside. Nothing major just disappointing. I also just saw a hybrid model at the dealer that was sold and had a really ugly stitch on passenger seat in a very visible spot. My driver seat has an imperfect stitch but it's a tiny spot. The steering feels vague. Drives great and I'm getting 32 mpg using rec90 fuel. I upgraded my speakers which makes a huge difference. I got it in Blueprint which I absolutely love. Overall I'm very happy just check out the interior trim and stitching.
toyotas will always win my heart
1.reliability
2.resell value
3.drives so smooth
4.cheap on maintence
5.amazing on gas
👌🏻👌🏻
a black kid raised in an asian household
Funny. I own the Honda and all of those things you listed I can say the same lmfao.
Honda’s has those qualities too!
Thats exactly the same as the Honda lol
I just got my 2023 CRV Exl. I love it! It is much quieter than the RAV4 and the fit and finish is much better. I had a 2019 CRV before this one and it is way better driving with breaks and smoothness on the 2023. It is a very solid suv.
Honda is trash
Both are great, but I would like no turbo engine for long-term ownership.
Mine is turbo crv purchased in 2018 and no engine issues.
The Interior vent trim design comparison between the two is very good to know, but you forgot to mention the Honda engine is the size of a lawn mower strung out to make enough power by adding a turbo with a snowmobile CVT belt drive transmission. The Toyota has a naturally aspirated engine with a normal automotive type transmission.
The RAV-4 looks like a storm trooper.
The previous crv looked like a stormtrooper in white 😂
I like the Toyota odometer changing mode looks real cool. I can't decide with one I like both of them honestly.
Both look great and I think it comes down to personal preference. I like the utilitarian design style of the Rav4. I have a 2023 Rav4 XSE Hybrid and have been loving it.
me too. It's a huge step up from my prior CRV.
yess i have the same and i love it so much! the crv does look really nice as well
plus the hybrid technology is amazing in the RAV4
But the Honda doesnt have 360° camera? No ventilated seats.
The RAV4 does
@@SuperC888yeah tbh the 360 camera is clutch.
I would take Toyota RAV4 over the Honda CRV anytime! I just got a 2021 Rav4 3 weeks ago I’m loving it n it does very well 😮
The new CR-V was completely redesigned while the RAV4 did not and just looks the same.
I like both and are comparing them both for purchase.
Unfortunately for Toyota their allocation model and markups are putting them second on the list.
And nice to see that his review proves it with similar features but lower price for the Honda.
It is like comparing stanford with harvard both are awesome vehicles.
There's a reason why Toyota's have such a high resale value!
Great comparison video 🚗👍🏻🚙👍🏻.
I will go with RAV4 Hybrid ✅
If I were to get a regular petrol version, Id go for the CRV, however I believe the hybrid system is better in the RAV4 and for that Id go with the RAV4.
turbos have more parts, break more, over heat, leak oil and need to be tuned more often. I would go with the Toyota for longer life.
Toyota used turbo also lol
@@ericdarmawan9504the rav4 does not use turbo
I have the 22 crv and fixing to trade it in for the 23 model. Can’t wait…!!!
2024 are out now, .. fyi
You buy the CRV if you prefer sport luxury. You buy the rav4 if you prefer standard.
Okay you're wrong at the end. You said apart from ventilated seats and 360 camera the mid line crv is same as top of the line RAV4. Here is what the Rav4 limited you showed has extra: heated rear seats, foot/kick activated lift gate, smart key on all doors, digital rearview mirror, windshield wiper deicer, rain sensing wipers, larger 10.5 inch infotainment system screen, fully digital 12 inch gauge cluster, premium 11 speaker JBL audio, 360 camera, cooled seats, etc. I think the extra money for RAV4 is well worth it if someone cares for these features and some of these features crv doesn't even offer.
I prefer Honda but when i saw the reflector lights instead of projector and without fog light ...
I love hondas i have a 23 accord but i still pick that 2.5L for the long run much better then 1.5 keep that in mind
Why do people do comparisons but leaves off the conclusion! Which one they would personally purchase?
Choosed rav4 , planning to keep vehicle for more than 10 years , still dont trust cvts and turbo engines
I bought a new 2021 RAV4 and after a couple years driving it, I’d say it’s nearly the perfect automobile. Only complaints is the very annoying auto off/start feature, which unfortunately is now universal. And the minor delay in the infotainment system, which I believe has been addressed in newer Rav4s. I’m curious as to what Toyota will change in the next generation coming in a year or two. The RAV4 will be hard to improve.
I have a 2014 crv, my problems include the VTC actuator that keeps the starter engaged, causing a grinding. Been replaced under warranty 3 times. Still have this problem. Rear hatch switch will not open in winter been replaced 1 time. It did better at first but came right back. DON'T BUY A CRV UNLESS IT'S BELOW 32 DEGREES FAH. FOR THE BEST TESTING.
What about a hybrid comparison
please fix the audio with the wind noise.
Would this be the same comparison for older models of both ?
Hmm, so which Hybrid version to get? RAV4 hybrid or CR-V Sport Hybrid?
I think the CR-V Hybrid feels better to drive, more space, and higher quality materials. The RAV4 is also more expensive.
I really don't like Toyota's current styling choices but mechanically its superior to Honda's over the long term.
Have a 2021 crv switching to 2024 rav4
No more turbo or cvt for me.
I want long-term reliability.
I don't think the cvt will last as long.
Turbos make a lot of heat.
Goes from CRV gauges power up to door trim...
Iam driving my 2018 crv with cvt engine having 175000 kms. i love my car daily. No engine issue. so smooth like a new one.
I loved the CR-V so much. Gas in the oil dipstick? Didn’t love. Didn’t buy it. Honda has an oil dilution problem. Some people buy a CR V and go hundreds of thousands with no gas in oil. Others get gas in oil, and a lot of gas. The way this is best avoided is driving 30min-1hour each time you start the car. If you do many short 5-25min trips, without driving on the interstate every day for 30 minutes at least, then you will most likely have oil that stinks of gas every 3000 miles. I love my 2003 Civic, but this issue in all of the 1.5L engines was too much.
The crv turbo and cvt are a deal breaker. I have a Subaru ascent with that type of power train and I hate it. I wish I stuck with naturally aspirated v6 and a geared tranny.
both great suv I like rav4
Can you do 2023 Lexus rc f vs 2023 lexus is 500
No 23 RC f
The RAV4 design comes across as comically aggressive for a crossover to me. But they're everywhere so buyers must love that angry face.
People buy a car for more than just style, if you want style in a small SUV get a Mazda.
@@sethtenrecdid you see the trunk space review comparing Mazda to these? It’s laughable.
Yeah bro everybody is tough look at my Big angry grill and angry headlights get out of My Way I Am a Dangerous person
I have a 2022 Honda CRV all-wheel drive hybrid that gets 37.4 mpg that I love. Next time I will get the Toyota RAV4 that is as much like the Honda as possible.....just to try it out. I got the impression that the RAV4 would get even better MPG.
I went with the crv. Got the hybrid sport for 32600 after some talking 2023 model. The honda dealership where i am at didnt up the msrp. The toyta dealership didnt want to sell a rev 4 less than 41k and said honda was stuipd to not go over msrp. Werid but like the crv.
That 2.5 Motor will outlast that 1.5 by a mile.
Which one has a quiter cabin on canadian highways?
Honda, just bought one 4 days ago , very smooth and hybrid is quiet
Are these leather?
I liked everything on the rav 4 better. I just wish they didnt have electronic parking brake.
Most cars now have electronic parking brakes😮
Which feels bigger in drivers position?
Honda by long shot
it is crazy how they are cheaper than a used one.
I really like the CRV but I like to keep my cars for a good fifteen years and that turbo is just something extra that's going to break!
CRV has 1500 turbo engine. I am sure this not going to last too long as Toyota 2500 no turbo. Also 238,155 CRV sold in 2022 vs 366,741 Rav-4. Is there any further questions?
Rav 4 is alot cheaper option, honda engines and Toyota engines have both stood the test of time having vehicles over a million kilometers for both companies, the previous generation rav 4 was hated for looking too feminine, they changed it to look more rugged while the crv goes for a more reserved on road suv (rav 4 sucks off road anywayslol)
Which one drives better. Which one is smaller. Which one has a longer warranty. Which one has better paint. Which one has better tires
@teeduck that's not the main appeal to each crown of each car, it's the design language, price, and usability
For me the non turbo and non CVT makes the rav4 the clear choice winner
Thanks for your great review.
The CR-V is over price.
A small engine 1.5 L
Can't wait to see the sixth generation of Toyota RAV4
that one is gonna come out like in late 2025 with deliveries in 2026 imo tho
The rav4 is also overpriced. It’s a basic suv built with cheap materials.
There is a wait time for 12-14 months here in Texas… what happens if a new gen comes out before that? I doubt Toyota will still make the previous gen…
They don’t make a PHEV CR-V so it was R4Prime for me
Can I use crv to tow a trailer with atv?
Heard the towing max capacity is only 1000 lbs...
I have had many Honda’s over my lifetime. My 1st in 1977 was a loaded Honda - $4,500 cash !
That said, I now have a 2027 RAV4 Hybrid Limited… would never change, I LOVE this vehicle !
Apparently could probably get about $35,000 for resale ?? (72,000 km), if I want a new one have to get on wait list for a year 😳
Thanks for this !
Hi Marty McFly, hows the future there in 2027? Worth still keeping my bitcoins?
2027?
Which one has a better driving view?
Honda , big windows, great ride smooth and hybrid is quiet
I'm generally gun-shy over turbo engines, so i would personally choose the Toyota.
I would go with the CR-V if it didn't have a CVT. So the RAV4 it is.
Honda has oil dilution problem which is a major issue.
I dislike the analog display on the 2024 Honda CRV. I prefer the 2019 digital display instead.
The outside vibe of the Rav4 is, "Shoulda got the Highlander"
I would get the Toyota, no cvt transmission & no turbos. Should be more reliable. Which is my #1 priority.
Crv honda all the way..quality
That’s a lot of money for an appliance.
Honda & Toyota❤
No the vent does not go all the way across but good job otherwise ❤
Weach is more economic.
2.4 Naturally aspirated engine with 8sp torque converter transmission will easily take you over 300k. A 1.5 liter turbo with CVT your looking to dump is before 140k. Toyota wins in the long game. If your leasing then the Honda wouldn't be a bad choice either.
Pretty disappointed with the new 23 CR-V. Looked at one which was a Sport Hybrid. For almost 36k, you get no blind spots, cloth seats and tiny little screen.
No blind spots, cloth seats tiny screen are all good things.
@@teeduck definitely
@@metaltrader747 I’ve always thought those huge dash screens were a nuisance. Plus leather seats crack get slippery over time. But , to each their own
@@teeduckhe meant no blind spot monitoring.
@@teeduckyour right but there easier to maintain
Rav4 more rugged look ✌️
Yeah, the way a car “looks” is really important. 😂😂😂
@@sethtenrec100% it’s important… go drive a pt cruiser bud
@@philipmcauley I drive a 2001 Sienna. Try this quotation: “ The unhappiest people in this world, are those who care the most about what other people think.”

@@sethtenrec lmao I don’t care what others think I care what I think.
@@philipmcauley right …..
Rav 4 👍
No cvt transmission for me!
RAV4. 🎉
The CRV has a CVT. It is not acceptable. If both cars lost the tranny at about the same milage, say 120k, the Rav 4 would cost 3k to 4k to repair and the CRV would cost 7.5k to 8.5 k to repair. All transmissions fail. Do not drink the CVT flavored Koolaid.
I have a 2015 crv with cvt and 290,000 km. No transmission issues yet.
CRV ❤
I would get the Honda
CRV 37510 vs Rav4 37680 - Rv4 is a higher trim by $170?? this guys sounds very bias favoring the Honda tbh, but good info regardless. Worst thing about the Rav4 is the end of life Style for me.
Its a ez choice for me toyota dont even have a single car in inventory
Rav4 wins
No CRV. The push button is the killer
i dont know why Rav4 looks win to me,
The Honda dealership in my area has always had mark ups above msrp even before the ccp plandemic
crv love mi
TOYOTA 😎👍🏻
Please improve your audio quality. It was hard understanding you time to time
I like crv
