Excellent line up of budget offerings, some real classics. Have you ever had a Real Steel H6 Plus ? That replaced the RAT-1 for me back in the day. I have never even held a Kershaw Iridium, it gets rave reviews, I need to check it out. I was surprised that you didn't list any Kizers? And you can't go wrong with a Vosteed either, my favorite Vosteed I think remains the Labrador.

I really would've loved to check out some Kizers. I hear nothing but great things about them! I just never go around to picking one up or being sent one in to review given this was my first year on youtube and being a small channel and all. But they are on my radar for next year for sure!
The Kershaw Iridium is no exaggeration, a really good offering! I can't agree more with you, Vosteed has made a killer first impression on me this year. I gotta check out the Labrador sometime.

Ruike p801 has one TERRIBLE flaw and that is the steel toughness difference between the blade (great) and lock bar (poor). I carried p801 as a daily for a whole year and it wasn't madly fidgeted or anything, yet still the 14C28 literally ate through the lock bar's soft stainless steel, rendering the whole knife useless. The bar now stops at 95% lockup and the blade still has terrible play, but up-down and left-right. I just put the knife into my EDC Reliquary drawer for expired gear and moved on to rotating knives, but it's a damn shame it got broken because the knife's blade is awesome - easy to sharpen and cuts well.
Hi there friend! Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Much appreciated. I think despite the shortcomings you described, that’s still not bad at all for a $35 knife. I think it’s pretty cool you carried it for one year straight, talk about some commitment.
Thanks, it was not so much a dedication, but rather:
- 33.3% budget limitations
- 33.3% color-coordination OCD thing
- 33.3% false assumption that I don't need more knives in my life :D
And yeah, for the price it's a good knife, as a part of a rotation - it is awesome, especially with the blade that would obliterate any box (I shredded a THICK dishwasher box with it without breaking a sweat), but if someone can afford only one "beater" and expects longevity, I wouldn't necessarily recommend p801.
If you like Sachse and wharncliffe blades you gotta try the Watauga. It's a great and cool looking knife, the fastest I have, it almost feels alive. It sold the concept of button locks to me in 2 seconds flat. The other recommendable knife I'm sure you will enjoy is Civivi Amirite. One hefty chonk of a knife, but with ergos that blew me away. It is perfectly balanced and becomes an extension of my hand immediately after picking up.
To me the best EDC knife under 100 is definitely the Civivi Qubit, though. Cool and non threatening looker sporting a freakishly sharp blade with perfect geometry. Effortless action, great ergos and super-lightweight and perfectly sized, and made of great steel. Once I fine tuned mine, it's a real gem.
