You are always so great at these videos Lauren! Super talented, fabulous quality stock and stunning fabrics. Thanks for you and your all your hard work 😊
I love your creativity and the end result is such a testament to your skills. I need to create the time and space to challenge myself and up my skills. Thank you for all the insights and pattern suggestions.
Interesting vlog Lauren and a beautifully made coat. I think hand stitching parts of garments is often the way to go for a very neat finish. I agree about keeping the legs warm, always my aim and jackets/ coats are often too short. 😊
Love your coat! I may have to make a vest with that lining now. For the pockets (I've made quite a few quilted jackets) I always bind them. Raw edges or not I still bind them. I like the look and it prevents the lining poking through.
I wonder if you will mention the Cozy jacket by Pattern Scout. I have some of your quilted denim bought a few year back but I've always been intimidated by it. I don't know whether the elastic channel will be too bulky etc. But I see that binding all seams is the way to go, brilliant tips as always❤👍🏼
I fell in love with your version of the Tamarak when you showed it to us last year and ironically, this morning I just purchased the Papercut Pattern Emmi Jacket. All of a sudden it's cold and wet and miserable in upstate NY and all the coats look so warm, snuggly and inviting. Thanks Lauren for walking us through your hacks. Now I just have to decide on which version to make!
I love your Jacket Lauren. I remember when the Tamarack pattern was released as I was looking for a pattern for fabric I had, and I didn’t like that pattern at all and I made the cosi Jacket by pattern scout instead. However I absolutely love your version.
I recently saw a jacket from Maison Fauve called the Dandelion. I love the Thelma fabric and really want to use it to make a weekend jacket but I am worried the Thelma fabric might be too bulky/detailed for this pattern. Do you have any advise? Before I came across this pattern I was planning to purchase a bomber/baseball style jacket and use the Thelma.
Hello, ah yeh that is a lovely pattern. I think the thelma might have a bit too much puff to be honest for it but a bamber style jacket would work nicely. It would just be getting a matching/contrast ribbing for the cuffs, hemband and neckband as Mind the maker don't have a colour match in that type of fabric. :)
Hi. I'm a little tiny channel who loves watching you. I am learning to make my own clothes😊.
Have a great week!

I love your coat! It is truly a work of a master craftsman. I believe the Iford jacket pockets are available as a free add on.

I loved this, so inspiring x
Love your coat! I wonder if you trimmed the seams or one of them before you bound by hand?

@@LaurenGuthrieGhani Thank you, I just love the navy blue diamond and have never worked with a quilted fabric.
Would that fabric work for the Joy Jacket? I’ve got the pattern with the kit and so trying to be good PS still need to make up the kit!!
I'm not sure it would to be honest, it wouldn't be my first choice of pattern for that fabric, sorry :)
