Brilliant! Thanks to my BIG BROTHER @JL Jupiter. You are appreciated man. Had a blast capturing foodie moments with you man. Good stuff Sensei Jupiter!
That street y’all was walking down looked totally different 20 years ago…I should know cus I was there 🥹 RIP Lackawanna Plaza (I still owe money to Mountainside Hospital, I went to Junior High skool down the street, I lived the apartments around the corner with my ex and my dad that passed 4 years ago, I worked at Gibraltar for 3 years that business isn’t there anymore) 😭😭😭 omg I’m not crying 😂 my parents ate at Cornbread in Union NJ almost every Sunday before he died…thanks for everything JLP;
@@hiphoppreacher4real before my time lol but I was there for Shop Rite, Subway sandwich place, the nightclub in the corner (my brother met his wife and mother of his 2 kids in that club lmao) my ex went on a date there, I almost had a membership at the gym around the corner, I attended MHS let me stop lol memories
The plate looks delicious a lot of flavor and texture is there so you may have a great meal.there’s a lot of heart made meal with love and understanding so you can enjoy your meal.
My husband and I was just there. We had the white fish, Mac & cheese, cornbread, lemonade and sweet tea. The food was really good. My fish was a little salty but everything else was on point. That cornbread was EVERYTHING!! We purchased 2 extra pieces to go. Comparing the cornbread to Sweet Tea’s I would say this one tastes better. Sweet Tea’s gives you a much larger portion but this one tastes better to me. I just wish the piece was not so small.
So glad to see y'all there. I follow both you and Matt. I was going to go to the Maplewood location but now I think I'll try Montclair for my bday. Thanks
It’s good to know that the Mac smacks! 😅 I’m a Mac and cheese connoisseur. If the Mac ain’t smacking I will let a person know for sure! 💯😅 a lot of people think they can make Mac and cheese good and really can’t 🤷🏾♀️
Awesome collaboration! Thanks for supporting Matt. I have been rocking with you and Matt. This was an unexpected enjoyment. Hopefully you guys will do more collaborations.
So I just left cornbread I have to say I had the best meal ever. This place did not disappoint and will be coming back for sure. They take cash or card. No card tips bring your cash to tip the staff. It’s worth it.
Wow !! That tray of food looked amazing !! I've only had cornbread once and it was from Marie Callendar. But i still really liked it, but the one must be better at a restaurant with it in the name. I still have to try proper Soul food though, it's not a thing over here in the Netherlands. Have a good one !! ❤
Tell JL Jupiter to bring you to Chicago for some uncle Remus chicken on Madison street and central ave. On Chicagos westside. And go to Windy City gyros up north for a gyro. Don’t forget the Italian beef’s dipped with hot peppers.
LC I am a Matt subscriber, but remember coming across your channel several times. I think I've seen a video of you and your wife. I enjoyed that video, it just take time for me to subscribe to channels. As a matter of fact , I just came across you and the guy that does a lot of traveling that has over 10M subscribers. I enjoy his channel when it pops up on laptop. I enjoyed both you and Matt collaboration together.
Yep, went to school southern central VA and recently lived in SW VA and both are very much proudly the South not to mention Richmond was the original capital of the confederacy.
Hi JL! I'm really loving the collabos you've done with Matt DV (I watched the Hot Dog collabo this morning when it premiered)! I enjoyed listening to the backstory about how you two came to know each other, and that you're his inspiration because your food tasting and reviewing videos are great to watch and the proof is they make hungry, or hangry if I haven't eaten beforehand. You both can sing, but, keep your UA-cam passions for us hungry subscribers, okay? LOL! Side Note: When I get to catch Matt's live stream, he started giving me unsolicited shoutouts (even when I wasn't in the chat!) because I kept noticing that he'd always forget napkins, so I would try to remind him all the time to get 'kims to the point where he'd just say my name whenever he remembered to get some 'kims. I think the psychology worked. *beams* I'm looking forward to seeing more of these collabos because I live / eat vicariously through these vids. On Matt's Cornbread vid chat, he thought that you being mic-ed to his vid would've been a good idea, and on this vid, the same thing but in reverse. Y'all don't need two turntables and a microphone, all y'all need are just two more mics (wireless maybe?). I think I remember Matt being in Florida, and you were there, too, but too far away to meet up with him. Anyways, I'd love to see you guys chow down on lots of seafood is what I'm getting at! I'm wishing that into existence. LOL! Peace
Not sure if it was an off day when I had it, but it wasn't as good as I thought. I had the turkey wings. The portions was amazing. They gave 3 nice size wings. I was just upset that they could've been cooked a little longer. The sides were decent. I definitely want to try them again. As stated sometimes it's just an off day.
I enjoyed your video as usual 😊. I like that you, share the stage with others. My daughter is a content creator and has her own channel- Shunnette Nicole 😅
Your collab with Mark was awesome… that’s ageism my how I found you… which is crazy cause I live right here and watch food stuff all of the time. So I love that you’re gonna collab with smaller channels… pay it forward type stuff.
I want to try this spot for sure and some other ones that you suggested downtown Montclair, NJ. I almost went to college at Montclair State University. I’m wondering if this spot is near the college.
JL Man you lost some cool points. Putting sugar on your grits... You been living up North to long lol Grits cooked right shouldn't need salt. Black pepper cheese of choice maybe some butter...
Aww man I wish I could have that right now. All you have to tell me is that the mac n cheese is hittin, and I'm there. mac and yams is probably the only thing I'd want anyway
This is a Caribbean restaurant that makes black American soul food, it’s not a black owned restaurant… Y’all should know the difference but seems like a cool restaurant
15:59 I’m from 757 VA and I consider it the gateway to the south bc you better believe the confederate flag is up and around I believe that’s how you know you’re in the south
U gotta twin with dreads on "Kountry Wayne" skits Look at the skit called "Frank gets the call from Sophia", the guy who is always brushing his dreads in the yellow shorts looks just like you. It's crazy!
Brilliant! Thanks to my BIG BROTHER @JL Jupiter. You are appreciated man.
Had a blast capturing foodie moments with you man. Good stuff Sensei Jupiter!
Glad y'all finally linked up
😂Y'all are in my neighborhood!🙌🏽💖 I agree! Sweet Tea's has better cornbread! Especially with that strawberry butter! Oh my goodness!😋 I'm hungry now!😂

I worked at the Burger King inside Lackawanna back in the mid 80s. Good times.

Never been to Jamaica but I can 100% confirm KFC is wayyyy better in Trinidad than here AINEC. The batter has a nicely subtle spicy kick to it.
Best fried chicken in NJ, IMO and without a doubt the BEST cornbread I've ever had. So glad you're in my town!
Yeah ok. Good thing it's just an option
He should have went to Jeffersons on maple Ave best fish and grits and fried chicken in the fourth ward

Great episode and collab. Shout out to Matt DV, Cornbread and Montclair 🔥 definitely foodie strip right there

I'm hesitant. You gave sweet T's such high praise and their food is absolute trash. You may not know what GOOD soul food really is.
I just subscribed, just watched that shrimp and oxtail burger video. Mmm!

It’s the same for Africans. Soul food is a Black American 🇺🇸 style of cooking. We are NOT Africans‼️
