- Sounds of the seascape at Portland Head Lighthouse in Portland, Maine. Took a roadtrip up from Boston to do some photography at a few lighthouses along the ocean coast. I only had a weekend, so I didn't get to explore as much as I wanted. Here are some nature sounds to balance out the many city sounds from recent uploads. Ocean sounds can be used for sleep, study, and more. These waves are not looped and recorded on location during sunset. I wanted to record into the night, but the park closed earlier than expected. I love this with the lighthouse in the landscape. I find it very difficult for some reason to find ASMR, or real videos like this, with a lighthouse theme. Lighthouses are a symbol of hope and protection for me.
I left my heart in Maine long ago! I wish I had this on a DVD! I would play it over and over when I feel overwhelmed with life!

I just vacationed in Portland, ME & visited the Portland Head Lighthouse, it was beautiful & relaxing. Sat on the rocks looking out at the ocean & just relaxed. It was on my bucket list.

I live in Maine and miss the ocean. Lived on Orr's Island for a couple years and loved it. I wish this was longer. I do loop it but would love 3 or 4 hours. I use nature as a sleep aid and migraine reliever. Thanks so very much for bringing the ocean in Maine to my now noisy apartment.
You’re welcome! I recorded until the park closed. Toward the end you can hear a man yelling in the distance to end my recording.

Your work is highly appreciated, I listen to it while I am at home focusing on college. I've actually been to this lighthouse, and many others as I don't live very far from them... As someone who used to live on one of the near by islands, I can say for sure there’s something distinctive about the Maine ocean sound. That and hearing the lighthouse periodically on a foggy day.
The only view that would make me happier would be of Hope Island from my grandmother's house on Cliff Island. This makes me very nostalgic and a little sad

@@darkdemondevil Neither.. I don't know how old you are, but I was conceived in that house and I am 63 now. Our house was almost directly across from the clubhouse on Hope Island. If you've ever taken Casco Bay Lines to get to Cliff, you know how the ferry rounds Hope Island approaching Cliff Islands Landing? Our house was practically the first one you saw as you rounded Hope. The house there now was actually built on the footprint of our house after the new owners tore it down and put their own house on it. The only thing they kept was our beautiful stone fireplace which was the center of our house. Everybody that had loved that house the most seems to have died in 1995 and 1996, my grandmother, my uncle and my mother. After her mother, sister and husband died my aunt couldn't bear to go there anymore so she sold it to fund her remaining years in Portland. I've been back a couple of times, but of course it's no longer my Island. With age comes wisdom they say, and I have since discovered that the real magic of the place was being surrounded by the people I loved and who loved me ( sorry I'm sure you didn't want to hear all that, but whenever I go down this particular Memory Lane it always leads me here. Thanks for listening).
Ruth Presti No, thank you very much for the history! So if it’s from one of the houses you can see directly after you round the tip of Hope it must have been a house closer to the square. And the fireplace was a decent hint. I’m thinking it is the place that is currently across the the store. I am 27 myself, lived out there for 11 years so I know some of the history out there but that little bit about the square is new to me.

Reminds me of my childhood. I would always go up to Lake Superior in North Minnesota, there was a lighthouse that looked exactly like the one in that picture maybe a mile or two away from our cabin along the shoreline.

Man I love what you do, and one day I hope to be able to travel and record my adventures in such a beautiful way. Had the opportunity to visit this same lighthouse back in August and it was a very misty and foggy day. VERY cool New England atmosphere with all the fog, but it looks very beautiful like this as well.
I go here weekly after classes. It's the perfect place to get away from everything and relieve stress.

@@rominaromina Yeah I saw that but didn't see anything specific about the microphone or if he used a separate audio recorder. It just doesn't sound like a built in mic on a camera. I've gotten some decent audio captures and have improved but still think there's room for improvement.

The only little thing I'd point though, is that the stereo sounds a bit too "right-left"...Like if there was no sound at all coming from the center...I think it'd make it perfect if the sounds were 360° (I am very sorry if I sound rude by the way ;w;)
