People 200 years from now will be listening to, and analyzing this man's catalog. How neat to have lived at the time he was creating these masterpieces.
Solo horn is Jay Wadenpfuhl. Probably one of John Williams' most difficult horn solos to play under pressure. Jay's performance is nothing less than stellar! RIP Jay.
you prolly dont give a shit but does any of you know of a method to get back into an instagram account..? I was stupid lost the login password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me.
@Lyle Israel I really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and Im trying it out atm. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
The layering of the brass parts in this piece always blows me away. The solos by the trumpet and french horn convey the elements of mourning, majesty and malevolence. A breathlessly beautiful piece of music. Williams is a master at his craft.
The score is an incredible gift for us composers learning the stirring, sweeping, hymnal scoring with strong melodic theming, something that is disturbingly getting lost in today's films, more and more. The suite is 46 pages, and worth every penny.
Two years on from that post, and you get no argument, from me. He is the greatest living composer of ANY kind of music. Here's to February 8, 2022! Here's to being 90 years old!
@ 8:39 When John Williams just looks up at Wadenpuhl and just gives the OK to do his thing is actually epic in it's own right. When you have EVERY confidence in your musicians. And Jay played absolutely PHENOMENAL here!!!!
I get chills when I listen to John Williams’ masterpieces. Having sat next to Tim and near Jay, I can tell you their artistry matches that of the Maestro. I will miss Jay. He was such a beautiful soul and a magnificent French hornist. The Boston Pops is part of my past, but will be a part of me wherever I go. Tim, who no longer is performing and lives in Pasadena, is still a friend and we get together every now and then. This music is simply beyond sublime!
I am passionate about the Kennedy assassination. I have seen the film JFK so many times that I know the dialogues by heart. That movie owes a lot to this powerful and brilliant soundtrack.
why doesn't this have more views? These cues from JFK are John Williams classics and thank goodness it was recorded because it is rare to see it done like this.
As an ex pro, I can tell you this horn solo is quite difficult, especially with all the loud playing ahead of it. You can let the assistant play a bunch of the loud stuff, but still..it’s definitely scary to know it’s all you by yourself..there’s no where to hide!
Tim Morrison on the trumpet solo... you'll know him from such masterpieces as Summon the Heroes, Saving Private Ryan, Appallo 13 and Empire of the Sun.
This soundtrack is one of Williams best..the somber tones of the trumpet dissolving into the whimsical flute/clarinet section. Then straight to the underworld with discord only to periodically come out into a triumphant leitmotif..great.
It is the way he goes for it and hangs on to the note at the end. It is a fantastic, bravura, dangerous live performance of the highest standard and you can see how much he has put into it with the sigh he makes he takes it away from his mouth at the end. I have not heard him before but this is special playing.
Tim Morrison is a god on trumpet to me. He just milks everything and has plenty of power when he wants it. Of all Williams movie scores this one means the most to me as I was 13 when JFK was assassinated. John Williams isn't just a great composer, listen to his scores. This one if perfect for the character of JFK, now "With Malice Towards None" from Lincoln is just as appropriate for all time.
Brian, I was nearly 7 and had moved from Boston to Dallas just months ago in the summer. JFK was my Senator and some years later, I found out he was a distant cousin.
Song is both beautiful & haunting. It’s giving me the feeling of what could of been if it weren’t for tragedy… who really knows for sure perhaps if Kennedy was able to finish his presidency Vietnam could have escalated even more & could have led to WW3 sooner like Stephen King writes about in his book. Doubt it but who knows…
JFK from the Director of Nixon, W and Born on the Fourth of July and from Warner Bros. Pictures the studio who gave us Dirty Harry, Batman, Lean on Me and Superman Starring Kevin Costner, Kevin Bacon, Tommy Lee Jones, Wayne Knight, Vincent D'onofrio and Sissy Spacek
The screeching quick rubs on violins represent the three shots on the motorcade. Three shots, as per the Warren Report. If you believe and trust in it?
He probably had this thing memorized. The trumpet can be your best friend or your worst enemy. For a split second there, the physics of the instrument worked against him. It's called being human. Trust me, he knows how it goes.
This is quite different from the prologue of the actual soundtrack which I’m sure he was far more familiar with at the time. Tim is an absolute treasure and these solos written for him by JW will inspire young trumpet players for many generations.
This is Friday November 22, 2024 and the pain of JFK’s brutal murder still hurts those of us who remember. For the love of God release the files and let us know who killed the President. John William holds a special place in the heart of Bostonians.
People 200 years from now will be listening to, and analyzing this man's catalog. How neat to have lived at the time he was creating these masterpieces.
The late president Kennedy Will always be alive in your hearts.🙏🏻🙏🏻😥
Solo horn is Jay Wadenpfuhl. Probably one of John Williams' most difficult horn solos to play under pressure. Jay's performance is nothing less than stellar! RIP Jay.
Jay was my best friend. The only thing better than his horn playing was his sense of humor. Priceless.
The solo trumpet was Tim Morrison.
you prolly dont give a shit but does any of you know of a method to get back into an instagram account..?

A fitting theme to a wonderful president brings me to tears always RIP president Kennedy

What this man has contributed to movies...is immeasurable.
John Williams is probably the greatest living composer.
Yes indeed he is. He is a music writing machine.. nothing less.
Two years on from that post, and you get no argument, from me.

Agreed. Tims playing always evokes emotion too
Happy 90th, John Williams.
I get chills!!! Omg just start crying just because
I am passionate about the Kennedy assassination. I have seen the film JFK so many times that I know the dialogues by heart. That movie owes a lot to this powerful and brilliant soundtrack.
i know the Mr X dialogue (Donald Sutherland) by heart
We lost our country. It's never been the same or should I say we got status quo instead of change.
Me too
Me Too
should have been 8 years of JFK then 8 of RFK. No Watergate. 40,000 boys that died in Southeast asia would have lived.
It's like Williams write and play the perfect feeling and emotion of JFK's events....
Beautiful, it captures the honor, the hope, optimism, and heroism of that man, but also the deep sadness and tragedy of that horrific day.
Goose bumps. All over. John Williams masterpiece.
For John
John Williams the greatest of all time
why doesn't this have more views? These cues from JFK are John Williams classics and thank goodness it was recorded because it is rare to see it done like this.
Remember who is in control of ALL our media.
Oh my God every time I listen to this gives me goosebumps down my spine
His music is literally a poem to the ears
It makes me feel so much better that neither the trumpet or horn solos were flawless, but damn, they were so incredible though!
As an ex pro, I can tell you this horn solo is quite difficult, especially with all the loud playing ahead of it. You can let the assistant play a bunch of the loud stuff, but still..it’s definitely scary to know it’s all you by yourself..there’s no where to hide!

One of the best soundtrack ever written.
John Williams is the Beethoven of this era.
Im many ways he even out does him
Uh, no to one and hell, no to the second.
Hans Zimmer is more of The Beethoven of this Era
John Williams is The Mozart of this Era
That trumpet solo at the start i can't begin to imagine how difficult that must be
Only John Williams could write such an emotive, beautiful yet sharp piece of music. John Williams... You da man!
ティムさんのTpソロ、ジェイさんのHrソロ。まだ脳裏に焼きついています。このメンバーのBoston Popsが私にとっての最高のオーケストラ🎶
How talented is this man ?
@warrcc c Wrong. He's very very very very very VERY Talented.
UA-cam: Yes
Why 10 dislikes . I don’t understand to the people , this is a masterpiece of the genius John Williams
Great job for Jay Wadenpfuhl!!!
Thank you guy 🙏👍🙏
R.I.P. 🌺
rip

Magistral, esta melodía me saca las lágrimas, como llora esa trompeta. Gracias, gracias John Williams

In memory of best presidend
Oh, my god! This is so beautiful and excellent conducting by the maestro.
6:52-7:18
Love that!!! So impactful and raucous!
Almost sounds like "Rite of Spring".
Definitely inspired by that
Gorgeous trumpet and horn playing from Tim Morrison and Jay Wadenpfuhl. Thank you for another excellent quality upload :-)
You're welcome! It is always nice to hear a hornist play in tune and beautifully. I can't say the same of my local orchestra...
archive.boston.com/bostonglobe/obituaries/articles/2010/06/24/jay_wadenpfuhl_60_was_longtime_bso_horn_player/
Sublime. The suspense at 7:00 is excellent, really makes a statement. Music should never be wall paper it must say something here it certainly does!
Masterpiece.

John williams james horner hans zimmer and of course my fellow countryman Ennio morricone are the best ever composers who ever grace the cinema....
Gives me goosebumps!
it gives me the need to go back in time and watch this film on theaters :V
hard but beautiful trumpet solo, well played!
Amazing!
R.I.P John Fitzgerald Kennedy!!!
JFK from the Director of Nixon, W and Born on the Fourth of July and from Warner Bros. Pictures the studio who gave us Dirty Harry, Batman, Lean on Me and Superman

in loving memory john williams he was a great composer
Was? He's still quite alive, just past his 90th birthday.
@@rothbd oh wow.
I was born 6 days after the assassination.
Holy shit... wow
Bang!.... birds fly off.......
ok
the excerpt at 4:06 sounds like pines of rome
The screeching quick rubs on violins represent the three shots on the motorcade.
Three shots, as per the Warren Report. If you believe and trust in it?
Wow. John Williams. Are there any superlatives left ?
on kyllä hyvä video
1:24 nice save, those key changes jump out at you

Yeah sometimes JW pieces have some odd key changes thats one !

Ooooooh
What key is Arlington in?
J.F.K Jr really resembled his father
OMG……. A Triumph
Am I the only one who thinks that he's playing with, or perhaps quoting, the folk tune Shannadoah here?
I'd that the theme from the movie nixon at the end?
What happened at 1:23!!!
Sounds like a mistake but I'm not qualified to say for sure.
Close to a modern day Mozart.
great theme, horrid movie.
Great theme, great movie
