Finished watching the whole part 1, YT suggested me a "part 2" and I watched 10hrs of the part 2 for ATM8 thinking it was AMT9. Finally I can end my suffering

For anyone doing this, when you get to Botania, there is a bunch of ways to fill the apothecary automatically. The aimplest is probably the infinite water bucket from evilcraft in a modular router with an activator module. Saves a lot of time when initially crafting things cause you can just throw a stack of seeds on top and craft as fast as it can fill the apothecary

I died a bit on the inside when you removed the latex from the dissolution chamber recipes... The inclusion of fluids in refined storages autocrafting is one of its best features! All you need to make it work is fluid external storage, which is piss easy.
I mean… you realize he set up one crafter to only do recipes to the one hooked up to always have latex. It’s just a simpler way to go.
@@scottchristofersen2367 It really isn't. His way involves moving liquids seperately and using multiple crafters. The better way can do with a single crafter. It also makes it impossible to craft stuff you don't have enough latex for.

About ATM nerfing everything you do... It really is frustrating, and I'm sorry you have to deal with the pressure of being the catalyst for these changes. I hope the ATM team eventually realizes that ultimately ATM is supposed to be a simple kitchen sink pack with an endgame twist, not a soft-expert modpack with careful balancing and competitive integrity. Their half-assed measures aren't making a positive impact for anyone. For example, who cares if ethylene is overpowered when those who are bored of it could simply elect to ignore it and go a different power generation route?
That's it for that ramble... I really wanted to follow in your footsteps and run this pack as well, but after learning about your feelings on the matter I think I'll follow suit in moving on and finding my fix elsewhere. Unfortunately there aren't really that many well-maintained alternatives in the kitchen sink space, most of the stuff that is talked about is generally ATM, FTB and Expert Style modpacks.
In botania ,just put a funnel from create and it always Drop 1 Block of coal each time

I dont understand the fission reactor logic adapters, if any of the ones on the bottom turn on itll turn the reactor on not off and if the reactor is already on it doesnt turn it off it just stays on. Dont you want to invert the signal of the top one so it turns off when any on the bottom turn on?
Quick tip for botania, you can actually auto fill a petal apothecary with water but only with a water bucket in a dispenser directly on top of the petal apothecary pointing downwards into it. Not ideal if you want to manually insert the petals, however perfectly fine for full automation.
You used to be able to just shove it in a 3x3 of water, but that was changed. I'd probably use Modular Routers for this, or maybe the eternal water block might work?
@@AlfredGGMC That sounds a lot more convenient, I’m curious why they changed it. And modular routers may work, I don’t know about the eternal water block though. As stilly as it sounds I’ve actually never used it lol. But it sounds like it’s just a 1x1 of water that doesn’t get used when you pull from it? If that’s the case then it wouldn’t fill the petal apothecary because you need something dispensing water into it, unfortunately a water source on top won’t do.
@@kcscustom9759 I'm a bit late to the conversation, but I've been using the eternal water blocks as direct input to my fission and fusion reactors and it does seem to output water into wherever water would go into. Used it on quite a few other machines/multiblock machines as well, haven't started on botania yet but I'll give it a shot.
@@defaultsplace1348 Hmm. I’ve played around with botania a bit but I haven’t started on any automation outside of fuel and I haven’t had time to test anything new since my original comment. Let us know what you find I’m curious. I think last time I was playing around with automation ideas I was thinking of trying an infinite water bucket from a dispenser pointed down into the top of the apothecary. So in theory a system to insert infinite water bucket, activate dispenser, remove infinite water bucket, then insert item, activate dispenser, insert item, activate dispenser, etc. for all items needed, then Insert seed & activate dispenser, to finish the craft. I have no idea if this will work I haven’t had time to try it but I mean I think it sounds do-able? Unless I’m completely overlooking something lol.
How would you do the fusion reactor in ATM 9 no frills? Blue Skies isn't in that version of the pack. I heard of people using create to pump an infinite source of DT Fuel if you are taking from a 10000 block volume, but this is configurable and disabled by default. Do you just have to make enough Tritium to the point where you cover the deficit you have at night? (i.e when you aren't generating tritium?)
I use tablet of sunrise to skip night time in overworld to keep uptime

How come when you built the fission reactor, you didn’t use the beyond?
Does the beyond have perma-day? If so, I didn't know that!
im 4 hours into finding the foreman key, hundreds of iron keys used and not a single spatial distortion, and you find it llike that lol, im very close to giving up on doing the atm star. this was the first modpack that i has kept my interest long enough to attempt full completion lol
That's actually insane that you haven't found a spatial distortion. I've done it a few times in practice and it worked each time
had the same issue. was searching for 5 hours probably. what did it for me was creating a new entrance. had a spatial distortion in the 6th room i opened
I'm having the same issue as well. With maxed out luck armor too, though idk if that matters. I'm pretty close to giving up as well
I had the same issue in ATM7. I went through 27 stacks of keys, and still nothing. The hellforged parts weren’t needed to make the star. But I was trying to complete all the quests. I hate that mod for so many reasons.
I would like a mod that let's your current character and items use a dimensional door to visit a different save file or use both or more places all at once. A connection between worlds where everything in one world per player can be shared across all of them. Say you had 8 or more people playing on different worlds if you wanted to travel between world you would need a dimensional portal and use a key-tag with players name on it.

It didn't make much sense to me to upload the full unedited files, as it would just be a much lower quality version of the full speedrun I uploaded.

How do you increase how many chunks you can load?
You can do it with commands (/ftbchunks admin) or you can do it in the ftbessentials file in your server configs.

ive done the exact same warden sucking thing but the soul chamber isnt speeding up the drill anymore
it did for like 5 mins and then didnt so i disconnected everything and did it again but it ran out of souls when i left it

Why even go to the Everbright? Even if you could fly there, finding the portal took so much time. I mean, you're already inside the ATM mining dimension which is fullbright as well and has no mob spawns, and it's superflat. Just fly 1000 blocks in one direction and build the fission reactor there. - Edit: ah, it's because Everbright also has infinite daytime while mining dimension has a day/night cycle. But then you could still just place the Solar Neutron Activators in the Everbright and do the other stuff where you can fly.
There is still a night time in the mining dim. It doesn't show it, but the cycle still happens and the machines shut down.
it's so sad witch hats are no longer apotheosis enhanced. No easy infinite godforged pearls upon reaching the other anymore.

when you open your storage, you dont get an fps spike why?
That might be more of a bug in the future versions, but I normally only get that huge fps lag when I first open the world.
He keeps very little in the actual storage too. It’s best to have most things in drawers or chest like external storage for several reasons.
Really wish you made these into episodes I have time to watch 30 your minute bangers but I just don’t have the time to watch these
UA-cam remembers where you stopped just watch it and then stop and continue next time. That is what I am doing anyway
Honestly really enjoy this modpack with a few issues. Definitely prefer Storage Drawers over Functional Storage and Ad Astra is so boring.
I actually really like Functional Storage personally! What makes you enjoy Storage Drawers more?
@AlfredGGMC More familiar with it. It's not that Functional Storage is bad by any means. I've just used storage drawers so much especially with Gregtech stuff from playing packs like Nomifactory.
That and I guess the input from the controllers. If you have an locked slot with an item in it and an unlocked slot empty, in Functional Storage, if you were to add the same item that is in the locked drawer to the controller it will instead put it in the unlocked drawer. Makes it annoying have to manually lock and insert items into every single drawer and making sure there is never an empty unlocked drawer.
Honestly it doesn't even have to be a locked and unlocked drawer It does the same with 2 unlocked drawers. I had an unlocked drawer with cobblestone in it, and I piped a bunch more cobblestone in through the controller and it put it into an entirely different drawer.
Never really had that issue with Storage drawers.
@AlfredGGMC enough grumbling about minor things from me though. Love the speedrun videos. Definitely some ideas and stuff I'm going to integrate into my own playthrough too.

It's funny how everything gets nerfed after my speedruns come out... same thing happened after my ATM8 one. It's really driving me to not do speedruns for ATM anymore.

@@gonnerkat8753 You can't speed up certain machines anymore like the drills themselves or the stasis chamber, nor can you speed up Productive Bees or Phytogenic Insolators. Also, it went from 4x speed down to 2x speed overall.

Speed runs just aren’t my thing. Watching in case there’s any tid bits of info but they are basically a bunch of ass slapped together to make a lot of items. Anyone can do that. I’m more for clean, compact, efficient automations.

i have never seen such a disorganized speed runner in my life. Your storage is full take the storage drawers off the system and see whats filling your shit up.
Yeah, fully agreed. The only reason this is a WR is that nobody else is running this. There are so many improvements to be had, from macro to micro stuff. Lots of incredible ideas as well though (not sure I would've figured out that you could just split a Fortune 5 off a vengeance pickaxe). But I have lots of good ideas of my own that I want to try. I kinda want to do an ATM star run myself now because, even though I'm not really a speedrunner at all, I feel like I could do better than this. Only problem is that I have an 8 year old GPU, I'm not sure how well recording would work for me.
@@astralfields nah i agree good job for him, but it was very well not though out, Id like to see him try it again when he actually practices and has routing down. Knowing exactly how many drawers you need and upgrades you need from the start, knowing which spawners you need, the whole wood essence fiasco, just lots of small improvements and major practice.
As much as I hate to say it, I didn't plan to do this speedrun so sloppy. I originally planned on practicing with a series first, then optimizing and doing it better. However, with all of the targeted nerfing being done by the devs and the drama that happened, I intentionally decided to do a sloppy speedrun and just get away from ATM packs. I did plan out for several weeks, and I was also sick while doing it, but overall, currently the ATM packs hurt to play because of everything that happened. Hope I can do better with a different pack!
@@AlfredGGMC No disrespect meant - even if sloppy, a run like this still requires stamina and a ton of prep work :) I'm not sure if I will actually make a serious attempt myself, but if I did, I would still be copying a lot of what you worked out, with some targeted "route" changes.
For example, I'd test using Magmators for power since they're buffed in ATM9 and infinite lava is easy and cheap to come by (spirited tier makes 8k FE/t), and they're easily scalable, so I'd be able to replace the Mek bio power and the tiny reactor with just Magmators. And a few other things like that.

I think a better way of saying what i was trying to say is, good job and thank you for putting in time to do something like this. I was not made aware of any targeted nerfs nor any drama, so i do appologize for my ignornace on this. I hope my single comment doesnt discourage you from doing the things you enjoy. Again i do appologize for comming off so heavy handed.
