- With some winter sun, we see a selection of ready to run GCR locomotives at work. First up is an 8K back dated from the Bachmann model with original chimney and safety valve on coal empties. Then a Bachmann 9J 'Pom-Pom' on a passenger train formed of Hattons genesis 4 wheelers. Following this a Sonic Models 9N tank engine over takes the 8K with a train of Hattons Genesis 6 wheel coaches.
Finally we see a Bachmann 11F on a train of brass kit built Robinson matchboard stock over take the 9J which is waiting in the loop.
All models seen are fitted with Loksound V5 sound decoders.
Oh wow, lovely thanks for sharing❤❤❤
So many 6 wheelers! Beautiful! Even without scenery it's still magical.
Just found my favourite layout running session .For 13yrs ive been collecting anything GC in model form and apart from the, i believe the Barnums (I am sure they will be inRTR one day there so unique ) i have the same collection .I am building a man cave down the garden where i plan to build my layout Carrington ,one day when missis and daughter dont need funds it will be up and running on youtube ,but heh i am older and have patience ,thanks once again for this its inspired me and cant wait to get something similar running.
This video tells me that I really need to find a GCR loco at some point. Bachmann have the best offerings, but from what I can tell getting them in pre-grouping condition is hard. Sonic Models’ 9N looks great, and I’ll probably try and get some of Rapido’s evolution coaches in the GCR colours. I’d love for someone to make a model of the “Sir Sam Fay” 4-6-0s at some point.
Lovely
This footage is awesome, and i say that partly because i have a permanent wildlife spotting tent on the old Great Central trackbed at Arkwright Town in Derbyshire, just south of LD & ECR Bridge 13. Even have a road & rail map showing the two rival railway companies routes crossing over prior to the Great Central buying out the struggling east-west coast intended route and prior to Duckmanton Junction linking the two lines, this map,if authentic and not a later reprint, would date from around 1900,literally in the first decade of The Great Central running London Marylebone to Sheffield Victoria ❤😊
