We all think this season has been beyond our wildest dreams...whats gonna happen next season and the season after?
Its mind boggling tbh.....but we have also got to be very positive if and when we hit an odd bump in the road cos it will happen.
What a time to be a Villa fan and feel all those negative feelings drift away that has built up season upon season....
Bang on this mate, we all need to stick with them through thick and thin, no good moaning if we hit a 4 or 5 game losing streak.
It’s worth keeping our expectations for next season reasonable. It’s likely that Newcastle will improve their lineup over the summer and Spurs will have plenty of money to spend. Surely Man U and Chelsea can’t be as bad as they have been for large stretches of this season, can they?
That said, it is utterly brilliant that we can look forwards with genuine optimism to what we might be able to achieve.

@GorgeDawes I fully agree about expectations, but since Emery came in we have been 4th best team in the league even with all our injuries. Utd and Chelsea won't improve that much over the next 2 seasons I don't reckon, even if they do we are more than capable of turning them both over. I just can't see how things get any worse for us tbh. It's time to start believing

Well, this is wonderful news to (almost) wake up to-- I''m more than a few hours behind you folks in the Pacific Time Zone out west in the US. I'm a Liverpool fan and have spent the past couple of months feelings more than a bit glum (but not devastated ) as my thoughts drift to something along the lines of, 'what will life be like after Klopp retires?" Balanced against that has been the good feelings I"ve experienced watching Aston Villa's amazing journey guided by the masterful Unai Emery. Emery deserves Manager of the Year, Watkins deserves Player of the Year, and Villa deserves (and will get) that top 4 slot. And why wouldn't Emery lead Villa to European silverware this year? I don't think it's disloyal for me to find joy watching Villa's return to the elite level. I've been overdosing on Villa podcasts and videos all season, along with my regular views of Liverpool media, and I can't say enough positive things about Villa fans and all of the folks who pour out their hearts and souls for your historic and glorious team. Finally, my apologies for not subscribing to your channel earlier--I rectified that a few moments ago--thank you for the great news. Up the Villa!

Those bigger clubs once spent a long time in our shadow, some of them until recently.
The city of Birmingham has a bigger population than the cities of Liverpool and Manchester combined, we are the only giant in the midlands.
Unai Emery is at a club with almost limitless potential, I hope he's good enough to make the footballing world wake up to that fact. Maybe then Archibald Leitch's vision of a 110,000 capacity stadium will finally be realised.

Huge praise goes to them again because they’re the ones who put all this in place, and were humble enough, and driven enough to offer the keys to Unai, and all involved are obviously working together to create something special. 👏🏼
I'm 46 and have been supporting the villa for well over 30 years now. Unfortunately, almost that entire period has seen failure, underachievement, disappointment, unfulfilled potential and a host of missed opportunities and false dawns.
Finally, it feels like there is a regime in place that will finally prompt our great club into fullfilling its virtually limitless potential.
I really hope we grab this opportunity as it may not come around again. Certainly not any time soon. If we do then this could be just the start of it.

That's fantastic!!! There was probably an option open in Unai's original 4•5 year contract for a 1 year extension that's been triggered by the club i would imagine,now with so many big jobs becoming available at other clubs our owners probably wanted to make it clear to the outside world that Aston Villa fc/Unai Emery are a partnership for the long term which is great for both parties. As a Villa fan i couldn't be more happy that what we have in place now will not change moving forward,as we're doing something special.... up the mighty Villa!!!! 😁💜💙⚽👍

i assume the talks in the summer will be money related to whether we got champions league and the trophy. this extension is probably just been done quickly to shut people up, as behind the scenes they wont want any distractions in the media about unai being poached etc.

I think the timing is more about keeping players and fans focused rather than keeping Emery onside. I think it is a statement also to any club who thinks they can cherry pick our squad… the players know they are going into Europe with Emery
This is a smart move from a PR point of view and great news for fans. If only they could conduct matters around the club crest and season ticket prices as well as they deal with on the field matters
I know every Supporter has there own opinion regarding whats best for the club including myself but there is one thing everyone can agree on .. this deal extension between club and manager Unai Emery is just music to everyones ears and guarantees the best future for our amazing club.. l am truly over the moon with knowing Unai is not going anywhere ... Not to put a dampener on things but The Times are reporting this as Villa exercising an option to extend Unai's contract by a year - if so this could be a defensive move by the club to shut down chatter about Bayern etc. rather than Unai "committing his future to Aston Villa". That said, and if this is the case, I'm sure there will have been discussions before the option was exercised (i.e. not a good move to do this unless Unai was happy with it) and it's a good opportunity to get it out there that a longer term deal will be discussed at season end. Up the Villa!
