Hex Ezcan Gen 2 - How to Install
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 лип 2024
- The Hex EzCan Gen 2 is the latest derivation (Gen II) of the amazing original Hex EzCan accessory manager. It allows you to easily add auxiliary accessories such as extra lights, horns, brake lights, in fact any accessory you wish, direct to your bike via the Can Bus system - meaning they can be controlled by your bikes existing switch gear, and easily programmed by the intuitive software.
I'm going to be using the Hex EzCan to connect up the Innovv K2 bike camera system (vid coming soon), so this is just a quick install vid for the Hex EzCan system itself.

Thanks Bruce, your how to vids give confidence to work on new bikes without fear of voiding the warranty. Looking forward to your K2 vid as have that sitting in a box waiting to install.
Cheers Skeels, aye the K2 was surprisingly easy to install to be honest. I’d been putting it off for almost a year as I was 💩 myself about doing it 😂😬🤦♂️👍
That's a neat trick with the cable tie to route through the frame! Never thought of that. Cheers Bruce!
My pleasure Al, my mate Moulie showed me this a few years ago, been a life saver at times 👍
I 999ooooBrighton have to 9000 this as
Still using my original Hex EZ can. Great bit of kit 👍 All the best Bruce.
Cheers Scott 👍
I don’t own a GS, but I still watched and liked this, as I find your videos soothing after a long day at work.
Ha Ha thanks Peter! 😉👍
Thank you for posting. Looking forward to seeing what you will be adding to your ezcan. So far, I added Denali lights and a very nice airhorn. :) The airhorn is a very tight fit, but worth it. When used, folks do notice you/hard to miss.
Well done Bruce....you're going great!!
Thanks bud👍
Great informative video as usual 👍👍
You are right, tour vids do take forever to edit... great can fitment vid too. Cheers... top channel.
Thanks bud 👍
Nice work mate, making it look very easy indeed!! Looking forward to more accessory videos! Still playing with Calimoto here in Australia, just need a few more trips under the belt before I purchase!
Nice one Brett, glad you’re enjoying Calimoto too 👍
Computer caveman here. You lost me at plugging in to your computer and downloading software etc🤣.
Watching UA-cam and writing an email is about my limit on my tiny little tablet that relies on free wifi🙄. Mind you, it'd be my limit even if I had the latest computer /laptop. Absolutely no idea. I'm afraid I'm a plug and socket, on/off button man. Still, you made the actual installation look very easy👍. Cheers.
Honestly Hobo, if I can do this, ANYONE can 😉😂👍
@@teapotone👍😁
Love the bike, would own one if I didn’t live in what’s called a town house. (Row of 4 houses) ours is one of the middle ones, which leaves me with a entryway wide enough just for the tuono. Only mm either side before there dragging the walls. Enjoying the series.👍
Good job & nice video mate .
Cheers Kevin👍
Good skills Bruce. Fitted a radiator guard to my duke last week. Five minute job took quite a bit longer. 😂. Lost two litres of body fluid and quite a few blue words. 👍
Ha Ha, it’s even worse when you’re filming it all too - takes about 5x longer and about 6,000,000X more stressful 😂
teapotone: Plus the Hottest day of the year and your in a matt black Teeshirt, need some white or light grey😂🤣
I'm going where you went, this Friday Bruce. Missed you by a few weeks. Look forward to your vids. 👍
Have a great time Mike, say hello to Joy and Martin from me please bud 👍
I sure will Bruce. 👍
Well explained, nice view of the product 😉, all together a good video. Well done sir. 👍👍👍👍👍 😄 5 thumb rating.😄
Top man, cheers Murt 👍
Nice 1 Bruce
Cheers 👍
Mate.. do a video of the VW bus..
Get Mrs Teapotone to do a spin off with the VW. 😃
The mad Leprechaun they both should do it!
👍TP one , really interesting video love it dude keep it up 👌R1 Greg 🖐️😉😁
Cheers Greg 👍
Hot wirin !! 😉! Awesome 👍 cheers 😎
Not something I will fit to my bike, mainly due to cost but can see the benefits of it. Decent vid Bruce. Cheers
Thanks man, should make fitting toys to the bike much more straight forward 👍
@@teapotone Yeah, Definitely worth while if you have a range of accessories to connect up. I've only got my heated grips and hardwire kit for phone.
Mate, gutted for you after weve just found out Croatia and Austria are now on the Q list 😳😫😫
Yep, crap news eh, almost like the UK Government are trying to force people into staying put and spending their money in the UK 🤔 😉
It's been 43˚ or higher for 40 days this summer. It's been nuts. Maybe a trip up in the highlands is needed. I'd love to be up that way. Go to John O'Groats and dip my toes.
Aye I’m hoping to head back up to God’s country in the next month or two - but by all accounts it’s like the M25 up there as EVERYONE has the same idea! 🤦♂️😂
Very coool video helps a lot, do you have a video to connect aux lights to hex can by cutting light wires and attaching the hexcan extensions
I have no interest in this whatsoever... but here I am, because it’s Bruce 👍🏼 well filmed video though! Great work
Ha ha cheers bud! That’s greatly appreciated and very kind 🙏👍
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
RDC = Reifen/Druck/Kontrolle Reifen=Tire Druck=Pressure Kontrolle=Control they make it half german half english Reifen Druck Control :D
Big fan of your videos
Is it by any chance can you tell me where did you get your tank grep and the side cover grep
Excellent! How can you tell a Gen 1 versus Gen 2?
Is there much difference between this and the Denali Smartcan? Can you plug the Denali lights and sound bomb directly into this? Or do you need to do wiring, great vid .
Hi ! If you want to add a light for example, I imagine the light have to have a similar connector that the Hex EzCan ? Do you know models of lights ? Thanks a lot
Bruce, I don't know if you've noticed but DPS have installed some software in your Mac's applications folder. 1:59
Ha Ha, very covert isn’t it! 😂👍
Personally Bruce I would of put the power cable under that main bit of the frame just in case the seat was to rub it 👍 what are you finding the main differences between the new and old GS obviously more power but what else bud 💪👍
Yeah I look back and wish I’d taken the time to route it within the frame, but it’s perfectly safe where it is, the seat doesn’t rub 👍
New GS is smoother, more power earlier in the revs and throughout the Rev range, I also notice a secondary kick of power as you hit triple digits, and the gear box is much smoother.
Massive improvement in my eyes 👍
Que faros son ideales para este dispositivo?
czy można sterować fabrycznymi światłami nie podłączając akcesoriów?
An accessory for accessories....seems more complicated than just hooking up an accessory direct to the battery like an old schooler like me 😂😂
Aye that’s fine if your bike doesn’t have a canbus system, but the GS’s and a lot of modern bikes now make it hard to integrate accessories into their wiring looms.
The EZCan simplifies it all for you 👍
Yeap simples to fit any dummy could do it! watch for rubber 'o' rings on side panel that like to go awol ! If you go to the States these things are half the price, freebies off of Nippy wow TMFreebie will be jealous!!😜
Nope I bought it myself - but Nippy’s have since come onboard so got some toys to add soon 👍
I have no interest in the hex lol 😂 but definitely another good watch 😎🇬🇧☝️🤪🏍 love the camper 😍😍😍
Ha aha cheers Buddy 👍
Don't forget to remember to keep any nuts and bolts for your next bike change.
😂👍
Bruce, can you recommend anyone to replace GSA 1200 headstock bearing in Essex? mine’s gone and Motorad want £780 😬
Don’t know Essex I’m afraid but I know a great chap in Bromley, Kent.
Message me at info@teapotone.com if you want his details 👍
Hello, it can be said that the HEXEZCAN and the CANSMART CONTROLLER GEN II from DENALY, work the same, I mean, could you buy the CONTROLLER GEN II to install the RIGID INDUSTRIES brand lights without any problem? ... or would you recommend buying the HEXEZCAN, Thanks a lot
To my knowledge, the Denali Cansmart is just a rebranded Hex EZCan
Hi Bruce I'm currently looking for a camera for the bike, are there any deals on Innov?
I don’t have any at the moment I’m afraid, not sure if INNOVV are going to give me a discount code or anything yet 🤷♂️😬
If you can’t figure that out definitely leave that for the professionals 🤣
Completely unrelated to the content of the video, but I have a question regarding the suspension. Being a chap of, shall we say larger proportions, I’m curious how you would change the suspension to suit your weight. On traditional suspension, you can change the springs and valving to suit your weight, but with this new electronic suspension that has different modes, surely each mode is programmed to suit the stock setup. If you were to change spring rates and valves, would that then not affect the programming for the suspension modes? Do you have to have it reprogrammed to suit new springs etc, or does it adapt to suit?
The GS adjusts to whatever weight is applied to the bike - so when I pillion gets on the bike you actually feel everything stiffen up, it’s incredibly clever stuff
teapotone great, thanks for the reply. Been wondering about all this new fangled suspension and if it could adapt to suit various weights.
Can you do a software update whilst it is connected on you’re bike?
I believe so yes
Are you going to put a aftermarket exhuast on?
Can’t afford one at present sadly, but yes eventually
@@teapotone dominator arnt to badly priced.
What made you go for the Hex EZCan Over the Dinali CanSmart?
I think you will find they are the same thing - made by the same people and just sold as 2 different brands.
As Prev says, the Denali is just a rebranded Hex EZCan
No love for the Denali CANSmart? (Also made by Hex...)
It’s exactly the same thing - it’s made by Hex and branded as Denali 🤷♂️
teapotone - it’s plug and play. Well- kind of.... you have to use Denali brand lights, and accessories... but there is no cutting, splicing, or soldering. I only mentioned it because from your last bike to this new one- you wound up leaving Lot of stuff on when you sold it....
Check out one of your UK brethren- “A Bike Thing”
Oops......you did it again..... ting ting round 2 ...... 😂.... next ... crash barrrrrr !
Eh?
This exactly what I want but I ride a Kawasaki and they don't have a model for it.
Ah that’s pants! Have you dropped them a line to see if it’s something they’re going to do in the future?
@@teapotone no and probably won't but I will for my next bike.
I can't remove my seats! Please send help!
On a Gs?
Turn the key towards the back of the bike to remove the pillion seat, then turn the key towards the front of the bike to remove the rider’s seat 👍
They're changed the freaking connectors again.
Hey Bruce, i know you like the odd little ride out. Here's the 4 x point challenge for you: ua-cam.com/video/W1Vgb7CGuwI/v-deo.html. Love the channel! Cheers Rich
In my country this would void the warranty
No it doesn’t at all
still none the wiser as to what it actually does 🤷♂️
If you don’t know what it does, WHY would you watch a vid on how to install it? 🤷♂️
@@teapotone Must admit I'm the same, what does it do and why do you need it. I've never heard of the thing before and i would have been more informed if you explained what it does at the beginning.
Bit harsh and not needed your answer to one of your subscribers, don't you think??? Surely you can be asked a question without answering it like that?
You can ask me anything you like folks, and I’ll give you my honest answer.
I wasn’t rude Ally, I just don’t get why you’d watch a vid on how to install something that you don’t even know what it is? 🤷♂️ Maybe that’s just me then?
Essentially the EZCan is just an accessory manager that allows you to connect up to 4 electrically powered accessories to your bikes wiring loom, and even allows those accessories to be controlled by your bikes existing switches and buttons - all configurable via the ezcan’s desktop software.
The next vid in this series explains how to do this when I install the INNOVV K2 camera system to the bike.
@stekwack - after reading my reply to you again, I can see how this could be taken adversely so apologies if I seemed a tad short and sarcastic - it wasn’t meant that way bud.👍
@@teapotone no worries I was watching it thinking you might of given some detail as to what it actually did in with your guide to fitting it, if you dont mind me asking what accessories are you connecting to it, I still dont get why you would need it. 🤷♂️
