Carbon sequestration describes long-term storage of carbon dioxide or other forms of carbon to either mitigate or defer global warming and avoid dangerous climate change. It has been proposed as a way to slow the atmospheric and marine accumulation of greenhouse gases, which are released by burning fossil fuels. Carbon is captured by trees by photosynthesis and stored in the soil. All trees and plants(ie green cover) takes CO2 from atmosphere and releases O2 back to the atmosphere which is essential for survival of other life forms on the planet and the C from CO2 is stored in the soil.
This process is called soil carbon sequestration.

Harshit sir, isn't ocean sequestration is equally bad for aquatic organisms. especially mollusc, crustaceans,polyps.
As there will be reaction of CO2 and carbonates in water and form bicarbonate, as a result It releases H+ ions and reduces carbonate levels in the ocean for the organisms which is the main life form of them
