This is a much easier pattern to follow the the ones you need to increase double crochets from the middle. I appreciate the time and effort you put into posting these instructions. Buy a crochet stitch handbook to refer. This will make crocheting easier. There’s many things to learn. Don’t be discouraged. It takes years to learn many things well.

There is front post and back post double crochet sister...but if you are new to crocheting,it might be hard.
I hope you figured it out by now, but IF you haven’t look up basket weave. That would help a lot
