Well done in getting so many videos out 😊. I struggle getting one out a week. Keep up
    The good work 😊

Are you impressed? Well, I cant keep THAT up. Its just I had something I wanted to test, in terms of getting new Subscribers, which was, is it better to promote videos adhoc, as they come out. Or, is it more effective to produce and release series of videos, as then viewers can box-set watch them. Well, lets see how it goes. And anyway, I do tend to make videos that are longer than 30 mins, so this was another way to make them more edible. Mind you, this one STILL came out at 40 minutes.

Yeah well impressed they take em so long to do lol 😂. It’s been a massive learning curve for me UA-cam I get the idea of trying different things I’ve been trying for the past year but really enjoy it and as long as we all enjoy doing what we do and learn that’s all that matters and of course save more retro computers whilst we at it 😊

Yes, its a learning curve, for sure. I like to share tips and tricks. Im not sure others want to hear these! :), BTW, I just tried my BlueSCSI v2 external, plugged into the back of the GVP and.... it worked!, I recorded making mine, just the soldering, which was the first time I recorded myself soldering, which is NOT easy, to DO and record at the same time. So I may record a 2nd half of that process, the software side, and then get ANOTHER video out. That would be a benchmark to beat, 4 videos in a 2 week period.@@Retro4u

Great setup and a well executed restoration, the GoDrive is particularly neat. WHDLoad quit key doesn't always work with the 68000 CPU, need a 68010 or higher to get this working consistently. I'm always impressed with the performance of an Amiga with simple additions of some Fast RAM and HDD. Not sure about the stuttering, maybe something to do with the Zulu SCSI? That long boot time makes me suspicious. Nice idea using the pill box for screws - must get one!

Hrm, I'll have to see about putting a 68010 in my machine. Dont want/need to go any faster with it as I have a 68030 A2000 and 68040 A4000. Trying to keep these beasts original, as much as I can.

Unfortunately, because the unpopulated RAM chips on the motherboard occupy the same logical space as the trapdoor memory, you would not be able to install both and have 1meg chip + 512k slow.

If I did populate them and NOT have the J2 cut and soldered, would that appear as Chip RAM? Or would it also map to SLOW. I'm wondering is there ANY way on this 500 to get 512KB of SLOW ram, plus 1MB of Chip. I understand SOME slow is REQUIRED for some earlier games. This machine is primarily aimed at the earlier era of Amiga.

@@ChrisThomas-lt8jd From what I understand, the jumpers serve the same purpose whether the ram is on the board or in the expansion. In practice, there are so few games that have a problem with the 1mb chip configuration that it's probably not worth worrying about. IMO for maximum compatibility with all floppy games, the most sensible thing would be to use an expansion with a switch on it and forget about populating the empty spots on the motherboard.
