If I weren't going to South Bend to see Louisville-Notre Dame, I would love to see Catalina with his SMU hat on at an SMU-FSU game in Dallas.

If they get 159 million every year that's big. Most big 12 are running at 100 million. Next year smu will have 20 million and next year. They need money every year

They need to look at Norte Dame and look into being independent.

So silly. SMU raises a record $159M and you find a reason to diminish the accomplishment. There are very few Big 12 programs that have raised that kind of money year in and year out. If you want the SEC and Big 10 to stop banging on Big 12 why don’t you do the same?

@becks89 I wasn't making this a passing match. With smu keeping up with acc teams. They need at least 100 million each year. Look I'm all for smu, they will keep tcu in check in recruiting the metroplex.

@@robertpearce4316 had to do some deep digging but most raised by a school in the last cycle (22/23) was Texas A&M at $115M.

Try not to bribe the Texas governor this time. It got you the death penalty. That's illegal you know.

My family is full of Texas Tech and SMU alums. For the last 40 years the Methodists have made very small contributions to their athletics. Look at the next few years of contributions as catch up
As a Dallas native, let me point out that Schmooo is not is Dallas but a suburb.

"Small contributions" such as funding the whole football program because of crummy TV money? Outraising some Big 12 programs in fan donations? Etc. Anyway now that the team is back in a power conference more big money folks have come out of the woodwork to support that.

SMU will go anywhere from 5-7 to 7-5 and maybe outside shot at 8-4. But after the first two games the next 4 games are 3 home games in a row starting with BYU, TCU, FlaSt, & the go on the road @Louisville and could see them lose all four of those games before they rebound and finish strong based off their depth and performance and recruiting and scheduling decisions.

That’s short term thinking long term they will be a force now that they are in the power 4
