What was great to see was Kyle giving Brock the biggest hug I've ever seen kyle give. You can tell he trusts Brock and is happy to have him
That was the most emotion I think I’ve ever seen Kyle show
@@isgreen3funny, seeing that live I said out loud ‘well, that amount of emotion is the most Kyle has expended in years.. he’s probably exhausted’ 😅😂
I saw that too! Kyle finally has his QB...Brock is the key the number 6!
Especially since Kyle is a very calm guy who doesn't show much emotion on the field. That hug meant a lot.
Big Facts
Montana was considered a product of the system at first. So was Brady. And neither one of them were putting up numbers anywhere close to Purdy’s at this point in their careers.
Exactly. It is a passing league now but 100% correct.
Brady was ass his first couple years. Brock has demolished him in the same amount of time respectively
It was a different game then. DBs could mug receivers. they were getting bumped all over the field. Watch tape of the Raider's Lester Hayes and Mike Haynes. Also, receivers flirted with death and paralysis if they went across the middle of the field. Dan Marino and that offensive system was the first to put a big passing numbers numbers
i know it’s been said like 3 times here but yeah it’s not the same. completely different eras
@@johnford9070Brady won a superbowl the first year he took over for Bledsoe.
Can we all recognize what an amazing job JT does breaking down these videos.
Best in the bidness no doubt
I know Shanahan is one of the best play designers, but I think he should get some feedback from JT. His film breakdown makes sense to folks who are not into X's and O's.
indeed!
JT went to UCDAVIS, where the Sochor legacy still lives there. QB's that played there are brilliant and wicked smart.
I remember when he played for the niners. Me and my buddy would always yell JT OBABY!!!!! When he scored a td 😂
Feliciano picking up Purdy like a child has me rolling 😂 48:13
Some guys are just winners and Purdy is a winner, being smart and calm under fire is so important in the NFL, also just admit it, Purdy is a great humble dude
A dude who gives all of it up to God too. I dont understand how you could hate this dude
Just the world we live in now. Too much negativity and no one is ever pleased. O well Purdy is a badass.
@@mathewhsms Some people care more about social media narratives and trolling than watching/enjoying the game
there's no such as someone who's "just a winner" he's a good player but his success has to do more with his team than him any other takeaway is just delusion
Bad Take, I know you never played competitive sports, some guys just find a way to win and stay calm under pressure, can't coach it@@entername9179
Winning with that OL is downright incredible.
Legit, Niners need to draft D line men and O line men this year.
they are loaded at every other position but O LINE.. i expect a large portion of draft cap this year to go to mainly O-line and a few D linemen@@reptarthetrx2408
It’s supposed to be a great OT draft and we desperately need to replace Burfurd. So we got grab at least two OL in first three picks. Have to.
@@robm611 right tackle before a left guard lol
No matter how well I think Purdy played, I can always come on here and he always looks so much better than I thought. And I'm a fan. What are the critics even looking at?
All they see is his baby face.
They want him to be built like Josh Allen lol. They can’t accept that someone his size can play QB that elite. That, and they’re haters and want the easy views and attention
Bottom line is the critics either aren't watching film ( likely scenario) or they know that Brock slander also gets a lot of views and engagement (also very likely). Everyone that watches tape like JT, Chase, Baldy, say the kid is a baller. Every player that comes to his defense says "watch the tape". Can't get too wrapped up in the talking heads no matter how ridiculous it is.
Their egos.
JT! One thing I noticed about the last play. That Linebacker looked to be "spying" Purdy and Purdy still ran away from him. LB isn't even glancing at crossers or getting deep in coverage. He waited for Purdy and still got smoked. So glad to have Purdy as QB1 now. Kid is elite!
same old Brock. The dude niners fans have been telling everyone is special. Thats the word for him. He is a special qb with great weapons and an elite play caller. Thats how you win big games.
football philosophy wise, would you pay him special QB money? going rate will be $65+m/yr by 2025 when he's eligible for an extension. that's what trent, deebo, cmc, kittle, & aiyuk made combined this season. technically they have no choice because carr & daniel jones are making ~$40mill, but what if a team like the raiders gave you a russell or bryce type offer: two 1sts, two 2nds, a pro bowler (LT kolton miller makes just under $14m/yr), and aidan o'connell.
Haters gonna hate. Go ahead keep hating. Niners are in the superbowl.
Brock is making plays with an average offensive line, with the exception of Trent, so his processing has to be quick and precise.
@FakeAccount-rx9qy - Honest answer? You let this Super Bowl and all of next year AND half or whatever it is of 2025 play out while you figure the answer to that question.
The cap rolls over, and the 49ers have intentionally made moves to be $35m+ under the cap this year so as to roll over expenses into next season.
They originally wanted Lance to be "the guy", so there were always long term plans to have him and his 5th year extension lead to the same time line of a pay day. This wasn't some shock in terms of a projected cap hit.
Aiyuk and then Brock are the only stars not under a long term future deal. It isn't like Bosa, Deebo, Fred and others have deals around the corner. Also, several have been front loaded to intentionally leave space on the back end in these coming years, and so they wouldn't cost much if they had to be cut/traded in the future.
Other organizations like to backload contracts to "win now" and then suffer with or without a ring. Kyle and Lynch have been extended yet again and are playing the long game in all phases.
Even if Brock gets paid big, like Jimmy g was once made the highest paid qB in the NFL, they will likely front load him so - like with Jimmy - they could get out of the deal early (2-3 years into a 5+ year deal) with little or no hit.
Kyle and Lynch are not mortgaging their future for the present and never have been.
@@ronbintscatcoyou just can’t give up an elite QB once you find one. They’re way too hard to replace. Hence the price tag. I think Purdy isn’t even up for debate, the hard part is who else you trade to pay him. To be fair several guys will probably be retired before he is paid, most likely Trent and maybe Kittle (30 years old)
JT doesn't say this but what's interesting to me is that EVERY analyst who says the Purdy throw to aiyuk was a bad throw and over thrown and "should have been picked" NEVER mentions that there was a PI called because the defender slowed down aiyuk and prevented him from being right where the ball was. How is it overthrown or a bad throw when it would have been spot on had the defender not interfered and got called for it...? Why do they leave that very important detail out?
My guess is because pass interference doesn't always get called so you shouldn't really bank on it. I could easily see no flag thrown and the defender happened to intercept it.
The flag was thrown and picked up with the announcement "there is no foul on the play". It wasn't declined, it was picked up.
I think you misunderstood they are saying that if the defender doesn't slow Aiyuk down its a perfect throw as it would've hit him in stride not talking about what happened but what would've happened
@DanielGonzalez-vo5ni - Who misunderstood what? If ifs and buts were candy and nuts, we would all have a merry Christmas. It wasn't an overthrow, but it also wasn't a defensive penalty either.
@@DanielGonzalez-vo5ni The issue is it shouldn't have been thrown because the defender was over the top like that. The DB had ALL the leverage on that play. I fully support Brock and the Niners, but that play was 80% luck and 20% Aiyuk making a MASSIVE play.
I remember watching the play at 9:50 live and thinking, "Does Kyle watch this channel and is doing that to fuck with JT?" lol
I've been thinking the same thing everytime CMC starts 7 yards back and runs into a wall
I saw it and thought, “JT is gonna hate this”. Like I understand the normal motion, but purposely moving him back feels so dumb
I think he does this to make defenses believe he won't be a receiving threat. If he lines up closer to the LoS he might grab the defenses attention and might not catch the pass. Just guessing though. Still think its weird overall
seems like they could fake or run a screen out of that easily with room for CMC to read his blocks
@@shane-zl8bu Nah, any defense with any brains knows CMC is a threat at any and all times in this offense. I'm with JT, the moves backwards make no sense what so ever.
I'm normally with you on the Deebo effort concern, but playing through a shoulder injury, I think I'm gonna give him a pass on this game.
Deebo is well known not to put in 100% effort
@@kaihamasaki9307that's true, at the same time it's so well known Shanahan has been able to weaponize it. When an alleged deficiency scores you a walk in touchdown, I would give it a pass. The fact Shanahan even thought to weaponize it is next level trolling at it's finest 😂
I agree with you. Deebo's presence is worth more than a few blocks.
Considering it got Aiyuk put in the doghouse, surprising that deebo only puts on 5% effort on plays that he doesn't get the ball
@@sirKISERdeebo can also take a checkdown for 60 yards and a tuddy i’m fine with him conserving his energy lol
JT was actually pissed off about the stupid game manager claims. Anyone that watched the tape knew he was the furthest thing from a game manager and a very aggressive QB 😂
53:10 #31 looks like he was going for his signature knee hit. Fortunately, Kittle was starting to go down and his body moved where he missed, but you can see where his head was going.
yup. Fuck that guy. Same hit that took Higbee out. Completely unnecessary with kittle already being tackled by another player. Zero reason to launch like that and not even try to wrap up.
I was so worried Kerby Joseph would take out Kittle’s Knee during this game. So thankful there were minimal injuries from this game.
I anticipate these breakdowns almost as much as the games 😂 Amazing job JT, I appreciate you.

You have way too much time
His toughness needs to be appreciated more by the talking heads but never will
It looked like Aiyuk had enough spacing when Purdy started the pass that he would run by the DB when he released it. He envisioned that circus catch to be clean in the endzone in stride. Looked like the db knew the route by the leverage and bumped Aiyuk off his route. Except the db couldn't catch it through the contact. Ball bounced up where Aiyuk could make a play. single coverage 1 on 1 and Purdy trusted Aiyuk to go make a play.
JT, your breakdowns are my new addiction. You took me from knowing nothing about X/O schemes to yelling at my screen for motioning #23 back 5 yards behind scrimmage!
Trent Williams said it as well as any of Brock's teammates. Interview after NFC Championship game. "Brock did what he did all season - Brock is the Main Reason we are here."
I've noted before - Trent Williams' giant smile when Brock orchestrated his First TD drive vs Dolphins - after taking over when Garafalo went down.
That was a "no doubt" smile from Trent. I'll never forget !
I’m not a coach, or a player m, just a Niner fan, but I really appreciate your candor, the ear-muff gut checks and the great breakdowns. I feel like I’ve learned a lot this last year watching your videos. Thanks for what you’re doing.
51:18 was easily my favorite play of the game. The ability to stay on his feet and find that FB, absolutely beautiful play.
that's a fullback getting his toes in like that, wild
First.
I was honestly surprised that Purdy was able to pull it out in the end. Straight up baller.
He was the potential to get better too. They need to heavily invest in offensive line in this upcoming draft.

Crazy thing, is he just going to get better! Can't wait to see two amazing QB going back and forth. 🏈
“You got a corner route from Cabo right here” I fuckin love JT humor man 😂😂😂 don’t ever stop roasting everyone’s favorite motion and Cabo. I love watching these because of those slight comments 😂😂😂
i honestly feel for Juice because it's so true 😭 love him and he's an amazing FB but they treat him like a create-a-player
Can't believe you skipped, "if you know you know" every time Kittle is involved
@@jdcommander7026 can’t forget about JT fantasy team 😂
I believe the reason that the Niners run the motion from 5 yards back, is to allow the intermediate routes to open up easier. Aiyuk gets behind the linebacker and the linebacker comes up to cover the route that starts back. They both break on the route at about the same time forcing the linebacker to decide between the intermediate or short with. If they both start at the line the safety immediately picks up the deep route. Just causes a bit of confusion for the defense.
Ya, I mean you can see it when that play runs. If CMC had started on the line of scrimmage and run the route 3-4 yards deeper like JT was suggesting, that middle LB who was breaking on the route just blows him up instead of tackling him after the catch. The point of starting CMC farther back is 1) to prevent defenders from being able to jam him, and 2) delaying when the defenders are able to see and react to what route CMC's actually running, making it more likely that the routes in front of him will move the defenders out of position.
Has the adjusted motion actually led to positive plays in the past? Asking seriously, I don't know if there is an example
@maxwellmarengo9785 yes. My memory sucks, i think it was against the eagles. I only remember because i literally told my friend that they run that all the time and it never works, and it immediately made me look like a fool lol
Overall, certainly usual top notch analysis of Purdy's play
however, I do have one bone to pick regarding Deebo 19; the man is being held together with bailing wire and I'm sure his coaches told him don't get involved in tackle scrums it anything to re-injure your bad shoulder which has a fracture so I'm sure the coaches know exactly what he's doing
No, I certainly haven't watched any other film of Devo, but he's been injured since the early fall so perhaps you've seen this before
/240129
Best part of the first big scramble was as soon as kittle sees Purdy running, he pancakes the LB while Deebo missing his block. He even said later if he got the block off, Purdy probably would have scored
Thanks for the fast turnaround JT!!!!!
Without a doubt the best QB film breakdown on UA-cam
Favorite football channel. You are doing the lord's work putting these out FOR THE FREE!!!

The MU is clutch! Thanks for the analysis/op JT!
"You got Thor right in your lap" LOL, good joke JT, thx
JT You are the man dude
I love watching you break down these plays. THE GAME MANAGER
GTFOH YOU TELL IT LIKE IT IS AND KEEP CALLING DEEBO OUT FOR NOT BLOCKING.
I hate to blame Deebo on that CMC flat catch but he is nursing a bad shoulder. He does make up for it in the second half with some awesome yac effort to step it up with the rest of the team.
Best channel out there. Great work JT.

To quote Super Mario: “JTO? A HERE we GOOOOOOOO!”
Great episode
man ive BEEN waiting for this video!
That O-line was consistently taking L’s again. I’m dumbfounded when people say that the Niners have a good o-line in which they don’t.
Its because we have Trent Williams so they must be good people don't realize even with him playing its still ranked 26th I think also Brock from my recollection didn't take a ton of sacks this year so he kinda covers for there deficiencies and people just assume they're good
How come JT hasn't got himself a QB coaching gig with some team? The man is the very best on UA-cam breaking down QBs and plays.
because this makes way more fucking money lmao
This was a fascinating breakdown. Broncos fan here, Purdy has the intangibles and could have a bigger career than Mahomes. Hope 49ers win it all
Whoa slow down!😂
All I can say in Deebo’s defense is that his shoulder is hurt and he’s probably playing through a lot of pain, especially after the dirty blindside hit on him, so his blocking ability was down
On the sideline throw to Juice, Lamar did the same exact escape against the Queefs. The same exact footwork and duck move. Incredible.
Friggin loooooooove these breakdowns. Gonna miss them when the season ends. I just wanted one more, and got one after this win. GO NINERS!!!!!!
And ANOTHER ONE! (DJ KHAAAALED VOICE). Loved the video, definitely seeing Brock unlock/unleash more and blossom right before our eyes. 1 more game to play, and I still feel the 9ers best game has yet to come this post-season. Thanks as always, JTO!
Game manager NO MORE.
I just subscribed to your channel, and I just want to tell you to look at the film- the X-ray of Deebo's shoulder. Perhaps he was smart to save himself for another play...
First thought i had after the game... looking forward to this video!
fanastic coverage.
i love this channel
For the one that Aiyuk played D on, I felt like if he knew it was coming he could have turned and caught it.
Haven't seen a quarterback never get nervous at any time of the game like Brock purdy. Even when a guys right in his face he doesn't scare or try to go down for a sack. It's been this way since the day he started
STOKED FOR THIS VIDEO! 🔥
great video jt
May not be O Line school, but it’s an awesome channel because you spend 3 minutes explaining what a left tackle does so I can understand why everyone drools over him and why he’ll be in Canton. Thank you JT for helping me see a sport I’ve been watching damn near 40 years.
One hour and seven minutes. Thank you.
Thanks!
After going down 24-7, I started playing 'Letters to 87' (Dwight Clark) on repeat on a second screen, and before every snap I said, "Do it for Dwight". Then magic started happening. You can thank me for being a superstitious fan. 😅🙌
They played with the spirit of 49ers legends in the second half. There was magic in the air. What a legendary comeback.
Per the NFL rulebook: "It is pass interference by either team when any act by a player more than one yard beyond the line of scrimmage significantly hinders an eligible player’s opportunity to catch the ball [while in the air]." Significant is defined as a change not due to random chance, no matter how small. The defender's contact clearly alters the receiver's stride and path.
The BA Ricochet was definitely defensive PI. The CB has a right to the ball, but not to run through the WR or impede his progress. Incidental contact is running side by side, both going for the ball. Vildor knew that he was beat and deliberately hit Aiyuk. They picked up the flag because BA caught the ball.
Shifting cmc back makes sense. He’s the checkdown, if he goes inline, the routes overlap.
"You got Thor right in your lap." Earmuffs ... effing hilarious.
Who is Thor? Huchtingson?
@@jamesnelson8469 Linebacker Alex Anzalone.
Great analysis. One thing that jumped out at me was just how well the Leos played on pass D - not one of their specialties. The other thing was Brock's perseverance and, at times, brilliance. A rock. A humble rock. Well done!
Awesome JT
I’d love to know if Deebo or any other 9ers hear your constant critique of his effort. 😂😂

Deebo out there playing with a broken shoulder, blocking, caching, getting carries and all JT does nitpick "effort".
The 36:00 throwaway is crazy isn't it? That was basically the perfect defensive play call for how the Niners ran it, a good chance for a pick and Purdy manages to process it all and throws it away.
47:00 - CJGJ got 19Problemz on his mind. Overplayed Deebo's slant, and allowed for the Aiyuk inside throw. Certainly it wasn't like CJGJ lost the game there for DET because their offense dropped some balls, but that was 3rd and goal with SF down 14. If he made that play who knows where this game would become.
At 37:48 can't you argue that the throw was on time and would have been a catch if the db and Aiyuk didn't get their feet tangled and slow Aiyuk down?
I love it when you tell the truth love your videos
JT, love your work!! Thanks for this look at the KC D! I was hoping you’d do this…jacks me up for the game!! Go Niners!! ✌🏼
We the best !!🎉🎉
Love watching these after watching the game. Always feels like such a failure watching live. Watching it back with your commentary makes bad plays not look so bad based on everything that is going on and how plays should be read. Much respect and thanks!
Most people can’t throw a football let alone throw one accurately with pressure and getting hit. Many of his bad throws this year were tipped or while he was getting hit yet he maintained composure.
I'm a 49ers fan and Purdy is genuinely my favorite player, he's so quietly talented and clearly works well with the team but stays humble and lets his teammates shine. Some players are great at letting their fellow players shine. I feel like a lot of the critics seem to forget that this guy is still a second year quarterback and he barely had hype behind him before he entered the NFL. He looks like a vet in his 2nd year and that's great. I hope he is able to work out some of the mistakes so he can become one of the elite QBs of the league. He's got such a high potential and he's already super talented. Go Purdy!
What's crazy is he should also be Comeback Player of the year he was injured in last years NFCCG and came back in time for the start of the season
Would have been cool to see JT at the game! Once a Niner always a Niner! You will always be part of the history sir! From the faithful
Great breakdown JT. Purdy has the qb processing power, guts and throwing ability to get the ball to where it needs to be. Now, he's showing that he can extend plays and use his legs as well. Game manager/system qb my ass! This dude is going to be lighting up the league for the next decade.
Amazon job breaking down the plays. It makes me appreciate my team even more when I review the plays here. I mean, I am amazed watching the game. My wife consistantly hears me scream "Holy Cow! I cant believe I just saw that happen!"
#55 is our official Purdy Picker-upper. Scoop that man! Love this team. 👊
That’s my QB! 🔥🙌🔥
At min 50 when Purdy runs, I love how CMC is right there protecting Purdy when hes on the ground
OK, love the Seinfeld reference right at the beginning of your video here one of my favorite episodes because they actually let Kramer keep the money he wins at the horse race track made me laugh out loud though "father was a murder. Mother was a murder "lol.
Deebo really let me down in this game. There was a couple Purdy run where, if debbo would've blocked, he would've gotten 10 more yards and in one case a TD. Deebo gotta learn how to go from receiver to downfield blocker. He didn't do it for some of the other players either. Deebo didn't effect the game cause when it wasn't to him, he gave up on it
Lol. Stop it. We don't win without deebo.
@kenw2225 uh, he was almost non existent in the second half and wasn't playing against the Packers. Don't buy into the media narrative. Nick Wright is a punk bitch. We can definitely win without him
He didn't even make it a quarter last game. At least he had some big timely catches in this one.
He’s obviously injured
