  • Following threats by Labour to embark on industrial action a new minimum wage, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, says the sum of N494,000 being demanded by organized labour, which cumulatively amounts to N9.5 trillion bill, is capable of destabilizing the economy and jeopardizing the welfare of over 200 million Nigerians.
Mr. Idris said this at a news conference in Abuja

If the government led by Tinubu can increase poverty then he should be ready to increase wages no need to complain when such amount has be looted from the government treasury in the past and currently now.

N60,000 is a slave wage. It is far below the Poverty Line of $2.15 a day recommended by United Nations. It cannot pay for transport, rent and electricity, school fees for our children, healthcare and other basic needs. Every Nigerian worker has unemployed relations depending on their salaries. We should stop accepting insults from these ministers earning millions in allowances and salaries each month.

If you don't know how to go about it step down for people who have the answer. Are you asking Nigerian workers to work in poverty. Bring down the cost of living an labour will reduce their demand. Why are the government officials and elected politicians not having minimum wage that you are giving to Nigerian workers? As a minister what is your wage per month. Bring it out let's analyse it. Then you will know that you are just deceiving Nigerians with your wage proposals. If the government can't afford that of labour how is the government affording that of politicians?

Nigeria is a big joke, you can only be sensitive to the present conditions if the executive level has exercised that same sensitivity..The government still spend greedily on themselves, till this very moment former governors and presidents still collect outrageous sums of money as pension, they are entitled to over 10 million per month, free healthcare locally and abroad, villas in locations of their choice, disregarding the ongoing recession.
On top of all that they still pay themselves RIDICULOUS amount of money while serving your tenure, like the 15milllion plus they are payed per week,or is it the brand new SUVS, unnecessary foreign trips with personal assistance and the personal assistance own assistance 😂jokers we have up there leading us,.😂were is the inspiration or patience to persevere.
The day governors and their deputies, senators, house reps, I.g of police, defence ministers etc go out on the street protesting being owed salaries,,then the vast majority of Nigerians would calm down

Labor is not realistic and am beginning to see this guy's as in capable of working for the people. They just only show there ego and some people follow them not knowing this people have become or the union have become a party. Even place like uk just increase per hour rate by less than one pound and labor want to go from 18000 which is the old rate to 494,000. We need to check this people well ooooo if they are capable
