Nice and congratulations. 😁 How many years before you retired? Anything in particular for a reason that made you resign? Enough funds, etc? 😁 Want to get info for my future options as well. Thanks in advance
I love it pag may PcA ang pasyente, hindi ko na pproblemahin yung pain control nila. It helps a lot lalo pag mga post op. Almost same tayo ng routine and work in same unit, sa Gen Surg and Bariatric din ako here in WA. Thanks for sharing your routine to us 🫶
Post op RN here. Having PCA has pros and cons. We do not use it a lot anymore. We use multi-modal pain approach using Tylenol, Gaba and Robaxin RTC. PRN lang ang narcotics. If we have PCA, more work kasi we have to check pain level and volume left in the PCA q2 hrs. So parang nagbigay ka rin ng pain meds q2 niyan.
@@NurseJuanOFWNo, not usually. That is rare. But sometimes pag hard stick, ikaw rin ang gagawa. Sa ED, when they start IV’s, they get the labs na rin. When I have to start a new IV then I just draw the labs too. To save the pt another poke.
Being overwhelmed is normal when you start. It will definitely get easier. 😁 Also, see how other Nurses do their work and copy the Good ones... And create ur own style while while adhering to standards.. 😁

Watching about earthquake in Japan, and your YT recommended. Hello there. Dito ka rin pala sa Louisville kabayan!! Nice to know marami tayong kababayan na travelling nurses dito kasi kulang talaga mga nurses dito. May emergency shortage ng nurses dito. 😅
Ninja moves sa epic system yung halimbawa 8 and 9 na meds, save nyo po yung pabalot ng 9pm then just scan the barcode kapag pwede na i-scan. Kung d naman nakaka apekto yung time ng meds or routine meds naman nya or not strict yung timing ng meds pwede naman siguro i-ninja moves yung ganun 😅 🤫
Form a nurse organization for Pinay & Pinoy nurses without excluding other ethnicity. The main agenda are establishing nurse to patient ratio like in California USA and abolishing the ban on nurses carrying liquid pepperspray purely for protection combined with a high decibel Dog Guard horn. I contacted nurses organization and I got the feeling that something catastrophic has to happen before these issues are taken seriously. They're there purely to collect fees and increase their numbers.
Just saw in my feed ( new) nice to know how it is in bedside, though its in KY 😂 I left the bedside 20+ yrs ago and I dont miss it lol. I rather sit all day in computer and review all your notes :)
Can you imagine 6:1 ratio in a full COVID unit? That how we were during the height of the pandemic. ICU level ang mga pasyente na puro naka hi-flow and NRB pa yung mga pasyente. Meron pa naka Vapotherm at BIPAP, na feeling mo dapat naka intubate na pero kasi because COVID, we found out thats it is better not to intubate. It was a war zone talaga. Kahit yung nurses parang hindi maka survive. The worst night was when we got 11 very sick COVID admissions in a shift. It was chaos. But we survived. 😅
Karma is real kung baga. Kami na nagwork sa covid, ilan lng ang natamaan. Wala pang vaccine noon. Kaloka. 😓
