My boyfriend passed away a few days ago.. his name was Benjamin as well.. he was and is my soulmate.. he turned me onto your music about a week or two ago.. the last two weeks before he left, he we played your music and some other music as well.. we watched deadwood and kissed and went for walks.. he played the guitar and sang.. he had such a beautiful voice. Anyway.. thank you for your music.. he and I really needed it.
@zacharyboor23 thank you.. it doesn't feel like it.. music has always been there to save me but My Ben saved me.. he has been saving me for the past year. I don't know what I would have done without him.. he showed me what true unconditional love is from another human adult. I learned so much about myself being with him. We both did. I don't want to be here anymore. I just want to be with him.. it's not fair.. and if I could end it, I would.. but all that crap about if you end your own life, you can't chose where you go.. = / stupid
Gotta love the highs and lows of life to make it sound real like him. Im 60 only tingled with 3 covers in thet time. Hell of a trade to to do that. Bless ya kid. Montains give solice
Benjamin...you covered one of my favorite songs. Thank you bud. Can't wait to see you again if you come back to California. I cant stop listening to this! Thank you. The man the Legend!
Love your music brother!! Please don't stop. This country's going to shit and this is all we got left good music that comes from the heart!!! God bless you brother!!!
I've been following you for a few years since I coincidentally saw your street performance with Ashley of the song "Waitin' Around To Die". TVZ brings me those moments when wallowing in shit makes you feel good, maybe because you already They're far away, I don't know. Also the video for "Comin' Down" is one of my favorites, I haven't heard the words needle and spoon together in a song since "Dead Flowers" by The Rolling Stones, and I love the video in black and white. Anyway, greetings from Barcelona, Catalonia.
I wished for Ben to cover this song, i even commented a couple times. I would like to hear Tecumseh valley it was written on a banjo would like to hear it in that version. Ben your music saved my life. I love and appriciate your music. I found your music from Townes music. Love it. Jason Dae West aint too bad....lol
Wow bro I grew up playing this song with my family during pick it parties my dad calls it. You really convey this song well. But then again when do you not? You’re such a great artist I recently show my Dad your stuff. He’s 73 and he loves it. We love you Ben
Such a great cover. thank you for sharing. I can almost hear Emmylou Harris singing her version right along with you. Now wouldnt that be something, Benjamin Tod and Emmylou Harris
Hey, my first time hearing you and I'm suitably impressed, you have earned my subscription. That looks like an LG 2 that you're playing. I have a '59 of that model, beautiful tone but not as pretty as that one, seen some hard times. Nice playing man.
I was sitting here ready to correct the spelling on the title when I decided to Google it first. Of course it was spelled "Poncho" and not "Pancho" when Townes wrote it. I shouldn't have doubted Benjamin. Shame on me.
Nice job brother. Covered this one on my channel too. You should do "Nothing" like this. Your live version is bad ass. Also Verlon Thompsons verof guy clarks song "the guitar" would be cool to see ya cover. If your taking requests. Lol
Excellent cover Ben. I really enjoy your music. I've been playing guitar on and off for 27 years. As of the last 9 months I play fiddle and bluegrass banjo. Do you have any suggestions for keeping up on multiple instruments while working full-time?
I've always tried to dedicate an hour. Some days I don't play at all but others I'll play for two hours. It all balances out I think. I've known too many who've given up on playing instruments but I know that's not an option for me.. If it does something for you and your soul you will find the time.
This guy looks younger and healthier than he did a handful of years ago and sounds better than ever ❤
Sobriety does that...
@@SeamusPercy-tc3fli cant wait for the relapse album

Two of the greatest song writers of all time
I never comment, thank you for giving Townes the recognition he deserves. You have more fans than you think you do.
I’d love a recorded version of this on Spotify
Townes would be proud. I'd love to hear your take on Marie or A Song For.

Townes was an inspiration to you, You are an inspiration to Me, And many others. Keep it up.
Gave me chills. Two of the greatest. Tod and Townes!
Damn son! As good as it gets!
I thought that The lost dog cover of "waiting around to die" was amazing. I think this is even better.
Me and my grandma's favorite song. She would have loved this rendition
I always tell ppl that Ben is our generations Townes, always cool gearing him do a Townes cover 😊
favorite song glad to see one of my favorite artists cover it
Thank you for this Ben. I’m looking forward to more songs and covers.

Hell yeah!!! Your rendition of this eclipses the original. Not an easy feat. Can't wait to see what you do next. Much respect.
Thank You!
Amazing Ben! Thank you for sharing 💙
Amazing
Wow
Really hearing in this version "only let him go so wrong" Ben know something I don't? Always heard long but liking it
Here you can see how Townes finger-picked the chords and also how Steve Earle totally co-opted his style.
Fingerpickin is just a style it comes to ya or don't

No disrespect to Merle and Willie, but this is how this song should be done, spare and heartfelt, like Townes did.
Really well done
👍👍
good stuff buddy.

FUUUUUCKKK YEEEAAHHH!!!!!!!!!!
Nice.
Where do you buy all your hats???
Nice Gibson
Always hated the produced song willie and merle did of this but this here is a gem
Where can you find the tabs for this
So, lefty set up poncho.. got it
Y'all heard of an old guy called Willie Nelson?
Willie covered townes van Zandt on the song Pancho and lefty
Is that an LG-2?
