Fjallraven Classic Sweden 2018

Last week i hiked the Fjallraven Classic in Sweden. classic.fjallra... The idea came from my best friend about two years ago and when she asked if would go, the answer was yes. So after a long time preparing, she, her boyfriend and me boarded a plane 10 days ago to Kiruna Sweden. On 18-08 at 13u it was our time to start the 110km to Abisko. I can now say that it is the number 1 trip on the top 3 list of adventures i have done. What a beautiful hike, amazing scene's, with all kinds of weather (rain, high winds, sunshine, some snow at night). What makes the hike though is the underground you walk on, and the weather. The 20kg backpack was not bothering me at all. So although tired, we were really fit condition wise after the finish. Were we without injuries, unfortunately not. I fell and hurt my leg, my friend had problems with her knee and fell also very hard on her face only 10k before the finish, luckily not seriously injured. What else happend, i lost the solar-cap from my camera, forgot the pegs from my tent on the third night!?, almost fell into the water, getting something to drink. So it is not just another walk in the park, something a lot of people participating think. Someone from the organisation told us that, from the groups started after us, at least 160 turned around after the first stage. Some of them had never seen a forest!!
Would i do it again, no i won't. I now have the hike in the USA on my mind, and perhaps the one in Hong Kong after that :-). So enjoy the pictures and i would really recommend you to do this hike!! (But come prepared ;-)!)

Ook ik hem hem dit jaar voor het eerst gelopen.. Zag me zelf nog wel even voorbij komen in de video ;) Ik ga hem zeker nog een keer lopen , en dan wat langzamer dan de eerste keer..
Leuk dat je jezelf zag 😁. Ik doe hem niet nog een keer, volgende wordt Amerika.
were there many mosquitos during the hike?
Actually there weren't. I guess that had something to do with the weather. Only on fifth day when the sun was ouy and temperature went up a bit, there were musquitos, but they didn't do anything, and disappeared when the wind came.
At any point how much water did you carry
Hi, I carried 1 liter of drinkingwater for most of the trip, i don't drink that much during trips. The last two stages however, from around Alesjaure, i took a bit more, because they told us there wasn't a lot of clean drinking water further down the route. Especially the last stage, there is not much to find. At most campingsites there is good drinkingwater to find. We had two places were we had to boil the water, because we went past the crowded places and the water from the lakes, i didn't trust that.
