Good video. I was able to get at the cables with just unscrewing the first two bolts you removed and used a block of wood to hold up the console. Only took a few minutes to adjust and is back to working how it should. Appreciate you making this video.

@@baumerofficial hey thanks!!! Seems like a common issue with these loosening up! I may use a little locktite next time

It’s happened twice now to me, thanks for the video boss. Wasting a day at the dealer for this makes me want to kick rocks.

    Thank you for posting this…
I had a similar situation except my cable came off at the brake ring attachment at the wheel.
This showed me how to loosen it enough to re-attach the cable.
Now my parking brake is tight.

Well well 😂 I did that both where out. This design is crap cause when you release fast the cable don't have time to go back to position. That light delay causes this to happen again . I know cause all my rear break and spring are brand new. And I adjusted the cable the tightest it could be. Then it worked fine so I decide to jurk it quick pull release pull release and it happen again. So, all I did is to had 3 rolls of Duct tape around just for the stupid cable tip not to slip out. Then I tested it like crazy 🤪 and it remained fine since.

Keep an eye on it! Ive had to do this twice now. Id suggest putting a dab of locktight on those threads. I cant tell if the cables are stretching out, the brake pads are wearing down or if the nut just rattles loose over time. Ive had better luck so far with a little lock tight on there. Another horrible design by jeep lol.

There’s an adjustment down on the brakes too if you get the handle tight and it still doesn’t hold on hills, but I have never tried to adjust it there.

Idk that is really weird. I just went to park while out running around town and it was just all the sudden super loose

Or... you could adjust the Drum Brake with the Adjuster Wheel like you're supposed to...
    Takes 5 minutes.
Longer to clean them off then to adjust.

Or you could see how my cable came off the thing under the console like I showed….. that was the problem. It needed to be put back on… so I loosened the thing and it back on and tightened it. 😂 🙄
