Klara and the sun is being adapted into a movie! I got the audiobook when it came out and never listened to it, but after watching your video I decided to gave it a listen. So far I’m enjoying it ☺️. Another good sci-fi A.I. writer is Simon Stålenhag, I really like the artwork he makes for his stories and his thoughts on solarpunk.

After watching one of your videos, it guaranteed I'll walk away with new ones to add to my ever growing TBR ... 😅😊
Answering your question, AI and the future terrify me .... once intelligence does become sentient, they will manage us cause we're showing that we can't manage ourselves ....

That's such a scary idea of the future but one that seems entirely possible. Thanks so much for your comment and for watching the video. I hope you enjoy the books you added to your TBR.

That’s the problem with a TBR list. It grows way faster than I can read lol.

*The Two Faces of Tomorrow* by James P Hogan
*Daemon* & *Freedom* by Daniel Suarez
*Code of the Life maker* by James P Hogan
More humor and satire than serious AI prediction.

i'd be more excited about AI if it was actually AI and not just some algorithm that spits out words without any awareness as to what they mean. Talk to me when "AI" actually has I

Right! It’s definitely not at the stage where it’s sentient. I do wonder if I’ll ever see that in my lifetime! It mostly follows a pattern I think. However with that said, when I watch NPC video game clips where the characters are having full blown conversations with the person playing a game, it kinda blows me away.

@@PaperbackJourneys if you want a video game with a really good "AI" please look at Event[0]. It's a very short game where you have to communicate with a space vessel's computer in order to return to earth. The AI is really advanced and actually created its own 4th ending that was completely unintended by the developers.

    Nothing by Asimov? Criminal!

@@PaperbackJourneys I didn't mean anything malicious about it. Asimov developed a lot of idea related to AI that were used in most AI novels after him.
I do have a critique about your summary of We are Legion. I don't think your critique is quite accurate. It Is the only one in the list that I have read.

@@mpbaird Oh sorry haha. I was joking. Sometimes it doesn’t come across in text but I was messing around. It was just my over the top way of saying I feel silly not including it. 😃
