THE WAKE!! I loved it! It came out during the new 52 era and it was totally a stand out in my opinion. I love The Abyss type stories with horror type feel kinda like the movie Underwater. I find that stuff terrifying probably due to the fact that I find anything under the water/ocean terrifying lol great book tho!!!!
Also another underrated book in the horror realm that Scott Snyder does so well is SEVERED which is creepy tale and so well done not to mention the art is beautiful and haunting. Check it out EVERYONE!!!
You're welcome, sir. Check out volume 2 and 3 of The Fix too. The story keeps getting better. I hope they finish it with another volume and then put out a hardcover edition. For my own hidden gems I'd probably go with The Fix too as well as Maestros by Steve Skroce and Giantkiller and the first Nocturnals mini-series by Dan Brereton as well as The Psycho by James Hudnall and Dan Brereton, all of which have been collected in tpb (there's also a hardcover of Nocturnals). And probably Flex Mentallo by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely which more people need to read.
It’s a damn crime that THE HOOD was cancelled at 6 issues. A lot of plot threads were left dangling by the end of the story. And when Parker Robbins appears in New Avengers he’s basically a different character at that point. None of the same personality traits. He was basically reduced to yet another generic greedy villain. Lost all of his complexity. I’d love for BKV to return to the character and finish what he set up in the original 2002 miniseries; though I highly doubt it because it’s been almost 20 years and BKV seems to have moved on from the Big Two for indie stuff. Still holding out some hope that he’ll revisit his creation sometime. The Hood is basically a dark mirror image of Spider-Man and I love it!
The Fix is totally underrated. Together with SFoSM and NEXTWAVE (by Ellis & Immonen) are some of the few books that have me snickering to LOL at every page. 😎
Another hilarious Nick Spencer hidden gem is Existence 2.0 and Existence 3.0. Wild stuff about body switching and insane plot twists that escalate from page to page.
I read some of the wake in singles but I literally remember nothing about it. I think I'll pick that up. Speaking of Snyder horror you should check out severed if you haven't already.

The Hood was decent as a miniseries back in the day and a minor character. But then Bendis used him over and over again for a decade trying to put him over and it just never worked. The Fix is fantastic. Lieber is one of the best artists and could really kill it on a more mainstream book instead of being typecast into comedy stuff.

Killer artist and he does creepy so well! Stand on guard looks awesome and I checked it out recently and I love Steve skroce! Boy has his art changed since X-man, Spider-Man, and Gambit with Fabian Nicieza which was totally underrated series.
Definitely we stand on guard for me was phenomenal story . I it felt completely extraordinary how this entire world was based on you know American attack in Canada and basically having this young woman losing her parents and living in the wild and become something that really cause in a very violent way change. Even though we had the reveal close to the end the words that she said are very haunting. Which I'm not going to repeat because I'm not a try to spoil too much but I was sitting there real quick when I finish the entire store I just was blown away how good Brian K Vaughan killed it. I really could see this be a booby but I think it would water it down because this has a lot of Topix it's talkin about and if you really look at it it's very smart. This is definitely a masterpiece for me
The only book I`ve read on that list was The Wake. The first half was brilliant. The second half was a real letdown. Murphy`s art was very good on the first half as well.

At one point you were discussing the reissue of the Wolverine Omnibus volume 1 and you were talking about mapping things out. Why do you think Marvel hasn't mapped out the Wolverine Omnibus 1 correctly by including the Wolverine: Origins 6-issue story at the very beginning, immediately before the Barry Windsor-Smith Weapon X?
