    I have a K2 230 and I love it! I have already put 30 hours on her of farm/trail riding and she is awesome. Do yourself a favor and purchase the sigma jet kit and put in the 125 main and the 45 pilot. It adds about 3-4 horses!

    i just bought a kayo kt230 yesterday so far Im pretty impressed with the power and feel of it. The price is what got me and all the good reviews. I mainly go it to puts around my farm so hopefully it will be reliable.

    I have a Kayo 230 and watched your video to see the brake and shift pedal adjustment. They're very awkward with riding boots. My idle is definitely a bit tricky and it was too low at one point and would stall, now it's a little high (stays running, finally), but another adjustment is in order.
    It's a good intro bike overall, and I'm happy with it.

    Really impressed with Kayo. Have a KT250 and a TD125 for my son. We're winding up the second season on them with no problems. I'll note, I own a couple other machines and have owned several dirt bikes over the past three decades. I'm also a mechanic by trade. It appears that Kayo's quality is on par with late 90's, early 00's, Japanese machines... and those were pretty darn good machines. My son's next machine will be a larger Kayo. I plan on holding onto the KT250. It's like riding a KDX200 with a modern frame. Great trail bike.

    Congrats on your purchase, and welcome to riding on two wheels. You might be able to knock the top corner edge of the shifter off with a grinder to keep it from contacting the case. It would be fun to hook up at Mt. Ridge and do some single track with you this year.

    I have the kayo bull four wheeler only really have had one issue it has a safety cap on it when pulled it will kill the engine. Great for new riders but. It’s been causing the four wheeler to have some issues starting even though it’s on and in the proper spot. Other than that only other complaint would be the vibration at top speed is pretty bad

    • @justinjarrett4437
      @justinjarrett4437 Рік тому

      I guess I should add with it being a I think a 150 or 250 it’s slower than my cuz’s Yamaha 90 😂 but for like 3k out the door can’t complain to to much for what it is

    My brother just brought home one of Kayo's child size dirt bikes for his kids yesterday and the front brake cable is outside the plastic like that as well. Maybe that's how they're supposed to be?

      I’ve been paying attention to dirt bikes now and have noticed a lot of them are like that. Even Yamaha and Honda. It drives me crazy though cause it takes only a few minutes to move it behind the plate. I think it’s more of the dealer prep crew being to lazy to route it behind when they install the front wheel and hook up the breaks…lol. I’m no expert so maybe there is a reason a seasoned dirt bike rider could tell us. It don’t hurt anything just looks out of place to me.

      @@AppalachianMountainRiders I'll have to ask my brother. He used to really into dirt bikes back in the day. If he knows I'll let you know.

    Hey boss, I just picked on up because I got a killer deal. I was going through the bike and searched through the manual but I didn’t see anything about gearbox oil? I see there are two ports above the shifter. I just want to make sure I get everything squared away on it before I start riding it.

    • @AppalachianMountainRiders
      @AppalachianMountainRiders  6 місяців тому

      There gearbox isn’t separate. Transmission gears are lubricated by the engine oil

    • @omarpadilla7674
      @omarpadilla7674 6 місяців тому

      Okay, so I don’t have to worry about that! Thanks for the quick reply!

    • @AppalachianMountainRiders
      @AppalachianMountainRiders  6 місяців тому

      @omarpadilla7674 I should mention if it’s a 2 stroke then the transmission is technically separate as you run mixed fuel but if it’s a k2 230 then it’s all together.

    What would be a good spark arrestor to install on this bike I got the same one lol

    • @AppalachianMountainRiders
      @AppalachianMountainRiders  Рік тому

      That I’m not sure but you just brought up a good point I never gave a thought. There is no spark arrestor so that may limit where you can take it to ride without one. I’ll have to look into what will work for it.

    I’m sure brake pedal & shifter & levers are pretty cheap but at least they are cheap items to replace easily. Skid plate would be an item to get before you ride anything to hard.

      The k2 230 is easy to wheelie, can either pop the wheel up from a full stop in first gear, ive also had good luck in 2nd gear.
      I'm new to wheelies(k2 is my first bike) so I cant compare, but its certainly doable

    Wandering have you found a better rear caliper for that bike ,it reminds me of the crf caliper

    • @AppalachianMountainRiders
      @AppalachianMountainRiders  3 місяці тому

      I don’t think a better caliper is needed. Well, at least for my mild riding anyway…lol. Set up is fine for trail riding but if you’re riding more aggressively then this is probably not the best bike to begin with😂
