IFR to Boston For a Burger and Beer

- On this 3rd day of this big adventure, the mission was to fly to the Boston area but had to plan a fuel stop since the weather in Boston was not great and didn't want to risk a low fuel situation. I filed IFR to Penn State and then continued on to Norwood Municipal thru storms and having to circle for a while to wait out the weather.

FAQs
- What airplane is this? This is a Cirrus SR22T (Turbo) Generation 6 (G6) built in December 2018.
- Why do you fly so much? I fly for business primarily supporting my clients and staff at meetings and conferences and vendor partner relationship building for my Government Payments platform company called Autoagent
- What do you use to record your videos? I use 3 GoPro cameras (models 5, 6, 7), I use ND4, 8, 16 filters on the cameras, I use a Sony FRD-AX53 4K camera with mechanically stabilized optical zoom, my iPhone 13 PRO MAX for many of the video shots you see when the 4K camera is too bulky to carry. I record audio with an old iPhone using voice notes and I use a cockpit audio recording cable I bought on Sporty's.
- What software do you use to edit your videos? I use Final Cut Pro on a MacBook and iMac
- Where do you find good royalty free video clips? I use artgrid.io
- Do you do all the editing? Yes, all this work other than some filler video clips and music is my work 100%
- What oxygen system do you use? I use Precise Flight cannulas and their X3 oxygen conserver regulators with the boom cannula. Works good but the boom could use some better engineering.
- Do you promote products? Never! I keep my videos sponsor free and continue have unlimited and unrestricted fun without a "boss" or watching my words.
- You fly so good don't you make mistakes? I make tons of errors which I will never show you lol
- Where are you from originally? I was born and raised in beautiful Greece and came to the US as a College student. Loved the Country decided to stay and build my career here. Best decision ever.
- How do you afford to own an airplane? Airplane ownership can be expensive but when done right, in the US, it becomes a wonderful tax deduction that can allow you to fly for business almost for free. Get trained well, get a bank loan and buy yourself an airplane for your business.

Wow, this was a treat. Flying into Norwood. Flew over there just a few weeks ago from KCEF for some maintenance items. I am from Mass living in Savannah, GA and am flying home in a few weeks so when I saw your title IFR to Boston my first reaction was “No way is he going to pay those fees at Logan.. I have to watch..” Just to see you filed to Norwood which is exactly what I am doing to avoid getting hammered in the wallet. BTW I also fly an SR22.
No way I’d land at Logan, didn’t even cross my mind. What generation SR are you flying?
@@NikosWings I so much want to land there because I think the approach would be great over the water and being from the area. But you are right to be cautious. They really don’t want us little guys there and the price says so. I am currently in an 2021 SR22 NA. I have an order in for an SR22T delivery expected 1st qtr of 2025. I just flew to vail with a friend in a 22T which was amazing. Keep up the cool videos and let me know if you ever pop into savannah. There are a lot of cool places to eat here.
I need to find a new career that allows for this, I miss flying so much after retiring from the Army. I had a job with the airlines but covid got in the way and then I decided to not go back after they started back up. Just not happy living in airports and living that lifestyle. Now I work around aviation but its not a flying job and even making good money still cannot afford the plane I would like. Always like the videos and what you bring to youtube, cheers!

I’m going to go out in a limb. Most business owners I know who fly have a variety of GA aircrafts where they can offset their write offs on a AP. I don’t understand how some can offset owning a jet such as Phenom 300 and write that off. It’s operational cost are around $3000/hr.
And the entire cost, everything from the cost of the aircraft (depreciation) to operational costs, fuel insurance databases maintenance hangaring crew costs is a wrote off at 100% in the US. In other countries it’s not.

Never had a 4-blade prop, not sure if it makes a difference
@@NikosWings I was curious about this, just if the 4 blades achieve something in performance/hours further than just a noise reduction. Thanks!
The 4-blade prop is heavier, more expensive, and generates more thrust at low speeds, but more drag at high speeds, albeit better ground clearance due to shorter blades. But they do look cool.
Do you ever have a less than perfect landing? I long for the day I can grease a plane in as you do on every video.
Oh yes more times than you think. Keep in mind that in some videos the landings are NOT as great as I present them to be. It’s called editing lol
