// ABOUT THIS VIDEO
Johnny, from Crafted Workshop, and I collaborated to build this DIY Modern Plywood Platform bed with built-in nightstands and back lit headboard. It's a big build but it's actually pretty easy. Lots of repitition, but you could get it done with a fairly minimal tool set.

MUY buena calidad, el texto imagenes. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxbnOKZBE4evMO5V2vroHeCjq6d_MV6wJO Un manuel muy completo y trabajado. Resulta muy práctico. Para principiantes y profesionales. Lo recomiendo
Beautiful build! I love how you embraced the plywood layering into your design.
This man is both woodsmith and wordsmith 😂
Perfect finished look and easy to follow thanks for the upload
Hey guys awesome to see you guys work together on this project.
We had a ton of fun :)
Thanks man!
Thank the lord for you! Someone who actually shares their measurements with the world. I couldn’t find one video where someone DIY’ed a platform bed AND shared the measurements. Free or not, at least it’s shared. Thank you. 💜
Definitely caught me by surprise at the end, hilarious, great build!
-Caleb Harris
Thanks Caleb!
YouCanMakeThisToo
So simple but it looks absolutely amazing! Gonna build that as well next month
Dig it. That thing must be rock solid.
haha...it's pretty darn solid.
My first time watching one of your videos. I accidentally stumbled on this while searching for nightstand ideas.
Your whole set up is very calming, artistic, and enjoyable! Like a UA-cam artisan of building(if that makes sense) your narration is so soothing!
I appreciate the content man! Keep it up
This deserves a revisit with the current format of videos.
That looks great!! Lovely
Love the build! And the Kid A, Kid B callouts were awesome!
Thanks man...appreciate it!
I started by watching your diy modern tv stand (the one with colored doors), and have now watched at least 10 of your videos. I really like the way each video is presented and I love the format! Keep making cool videos!
Thanks Chandler...hope you continue to enjoy :)
Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful your job.. congratulations!
Really enjoyed watching this clip, makes me want to get out into the workshop.
I couldn't help but laugh at that final remark 😂
Beautiful project. It gave me some ideas for a bed project I have got coming up.
Thanks Magnus :)
Chris, Glad you guys got together and I was able to find you via Johnny;s channel. Look forward to seeing many more of your videos. Thank you guys for sharing what you do and the processes that are involved.
Hey Gary...glad you found me too! Had a great time working with Johnny - hope you enjoy some of my other builds as much :)
I never thought a diy project could also be an excellent short doc, well done! Thanks.
Thanks Kevin...appreciate it!
GOSTEI DO PROJETO E A APRESENTAÇÃO DO SEU TRABALHO, ME GANHOU COMO INSCRITO, TA DE PARABÉNS NOTA 10
Cool project! I like the form of the bed, and I like plywood patterns in general, but here I'd like to cover the sides with a layer of plywood, it will give a more clean look. Anyway your idea is awesome and I think this bed will stay for a hundred years without any problems.
Awesome collaboration video the bed came out great. I think at least for me working with another woodworker you enjoy the company and tend not to be as focused and dialed in. Awesome job always enjoy your videos
It's all true Thom :)
Thanks!
Gonna skip the base and slats and just build the surrounding part and headboard but starting this tomorrow! Needed a bed low enough for our dachshunds and not paying 1500+ for a platform bed! Awesome build!
I can’t decide if I watch you videos for the builds or the wit!! I LOVE IT HERE🥰🥰🥰lol
congratz spectacles, great build as always and a very inspiring one for the redecoration of my bedroom in our new house
Thanks Tim!
That was amazing looking. keep up the good work I am ready to see the next one.
Thanks Chris
Excelente esse projeto !
Parabéns !!!
That's got some great lines and it looks like you guys had a good time with the build. Win/win....
Hey Andy...thanks! We did have a good time. Really great weekend :)
Really like this
As always... a pleasure to watch the process and a pleasure to watch the result :)
:)
Nice job on the edit, really liked that progress bar for the Patreon plug. Really enjoyed how it was all put together.
Thanks Anthony
Wow u sound so coool and calm u maked my day
I like you Chris! You are the one who’s gotten me interested in furniture building! I recently built my first piece. It was a three legged stool. Thank you for the inspiration!
Thanks Arvid...that's really cool :)
@@Foureyes.Furniture good day do you have a plan for this beauty
Hi , Beautiful bed, great job! To go further, I think it would be even more awesome than bed in suspension (without foot), held by the head of the bed, but how? 🤔😜👍🏽
You're doing a very good job on this project and making this bed💖💙
Perfeito!!!😍
What got me into your channel is your soft voiced narration, and music. It's very relaxing. Keep it up. That's what sets you apart from everyone.
Thanks Kenny :)
3 videos in now, you have the best sense of humor! I've subscribed, and put my work to the side that I was trying to get done this evening.. haha
I have to say I am quite impressed by your video and the editing. Found it funny when you labeled the kid a and kid b. This video made me smile. Thanks for all the tips and your hard work making this video.
Loved the video! Great build, subscribed!
Thanks Frank. Glad you enjoyed :)
Looks great! It really is a good feeling to sleep on something you made!
going back five years and watchin this. damn how far you have come.
Nice build, Chris. I'm a bit surprised at how well that paste wax worked!
Dude...it was night and day. Gigantic difference.
It was insane how much of a difference it made. We were beating the crap out of the pieces trying to get them together, and then they just slid right into place post-paste wax application.
Must... Resist... Urge... To... Make... Obvious... Lubrication... Joke.... 😉

Ahaha love the end part. Great job you did together despite your feeling for not achieving such perfection or focusing during the process. Love you and your content, always!
Thanks Cris...we had a good time!
A good ending....
Muy bueno muy bueno 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thats a really great design.
Love it Chris.
Thanks Dave!
love this!
I loved the LED idea!
Came out great! Excellent use of the paste wax. Loved the commentary at the end lol! - Jim
Thanks Jim :)
This is my first time watching your videos, and not the last! Cheers
Great job!Almost four eyes pattern on the bed cover!:)
Yeah...sort of. That's a happy accident
Really great job gents :)
awesome! well made video, simple with a great voice over. I would be surprised if you couldn't make a great career out of this!
Super cool you shouted out your Patreon supporters! Love the channel man!
End result is very nice.
Biggest thing I got out of this was your extra vac hose for the mitre saw. I have the same one unfortunately and it drives me nuts how bad it is with dust collection haha!
Ending was really deep, mate! A job well done!
Nice build! The leds are a nice touch too.
Thanks!
I enjoy your kind of humor so much! Thanks man!
Thanks Markus :)
Sound like michael cera. I love it!
haha...George Michael :)
Loved the ending. I can tell that you enjoy subtle irreverancy as well.
Yes...so subtle - many won't even realize there's a joke in there :)
@@Foureyes.Furniture 9 times out of 10, I watch your videos in hopes of a subtle joke.. dont get me wrong, your great work and 90s, day time TV show / Bob Ross type style keeps me interested as well. Huge fan, first time writer, long time watcher -John
I would have missed it if I wasn't looking for it!
**late to the party comment**
I just discovered your channel, as I am getting into woodworking as a hobby and hopefully more than that at some point. I just wanted to say your work is phenomenal and your content is very well put together. You have a great approach to your narrations. All your videos are super calming. Keep up the great work! If I have any profits from woodworking, some of them are heading straight to your Patreon. Stay golden
Oh and I'm a God this is for you for doing a beautiful job for making a note💙💙💙.
good company + good craftsmanship = great build.
Yes indeed :)
The bed looks awesome, and the concept is so simple!
Why didn't you build the base the same way as the top? Better design with base matching top, easier to assemble (with wax), no crappy L-brackets, no gaps.
Anyway, great job, very inspirational as usual.
Lots of work for very little payoff :)
Lots of work, with only 4 layers? I'm not sure I get it, but I assume you must be right...
HODYO Design B.B.
Good point. I would definitely use the same layered design for the base. No reason to use L brackets.
Nice work
Beautiful build and cool collaboration.
Thanks Cammie
Here is Johnny! :)
Great build, thank you for sharing...
:)
Congrats Chris!
Haha definitely had to go back and listen to the last minute again with the new perspective in mind.
Awesome modern looking bed! My only concern is I could hit the back of my lower leg against the side of the bed getting up and out if the bed. But overall, the design and detail of the bed is nicely done!
Making this bed currently! So far, so good.
Cost estimate?
"We noticed it had become night, so we called it a day."

A little subtle word play :P

How many plywood boards did you use
It's really cool to see you two work together on this one. And that you use just plywood not some fancy hardwood.
Thanks Valpor...it was a good time...and we knew we were going to have to work fast while he was out here - so we wanted to make sure it was something big, but that could be done relatively quickly.
It was a super fun build, and I love using plywood in this way. It’s an incredibly versatile material.
HAHA!! The ending was the best! I loved this one!
Thanks Josh...appreciate it :) :) :)
That'z awesome work. Loved it. 😍😍
You are good at building when you made that video blank that making up that no tendo switch you did a beautiful job at it
great build
nicely done!
Awesome!
Awesome design 😍
I dig the concept. I wish it would have been done with red or white oak to make it pop. Overall the design and concept was great. The headboard made the whole project and really took it to the next level. Great job.
that is goingto be the most solid built bed ever. Earthquake proof
Good job
Awesome build, and clever comment at the end!👍
Thanks Dustin :)
You're doing a great job🥰.
That stop jig is genius! Awesome build, you guys!
Such a soothing voice.
Very amazing skills 4 eyes , When things get a little better @ home w/money I will send to your Patreon account . I'm a single dad and life gets a little tough but we're getting by w/the help of your videos my kids and I have made all of our furniture . P.S. It's not as nice as your stuff but it works , so thanks for your awesome videos ...
Thanks Gilbert...appreciate the kind words! Don't worry about not being able to do Patreon...if it fits your life at some point go for it. In the meantime, just tell your friends about my channel :)
Great project idea and videos, thanks. I bought the plans and scaled up the dimensions from a standard Full mattress (54" x 75") up to a standard Queen (60" x 80"). But, after cutting all the planks, I realize that the design is actually a bit too short for a standard Full, and as a result, my side boards are a little too short to fit my existing Queen mattress (it will probably just barely fit, but with no clearance for sheet access at the head or foot). After studying the Sketchup, I realize that you built it around a 74" long mattress, which is 1" shorter than a standard. I'm sure that there's some variation in normal mattress lengths, but I would suggest that your plans should be based on the standard size (and yes, I should have drawn it all out and measured my mattress before cutting... lesson learned)
Now I'm debating between cutting 1" from the footboards (which may or may not mess up the symmetry), or else shifting the side rails out by an inch or two, and adding a cosmetic spacer at the foot. Neither is ideal, but the Purebond plywood is too expensive to justify re-cutting all the side planks. I'll make it work, but figured I should point it out.
howd it go
@@Miggggy Hey, thanks for asking - it came together okay, but with some reworking required on my end. That's due more to my learning this stuff on the fly than with the source material, but the adjustments I had to make to turn it into a queen size didn't help. I'm going to put together a video of the results, along with some thoughts on the size adjustments, will post here.

Молодец!
hard work pays, great job bro
Thanks Man :)
You have a voice that can be used to narrate children's adventure stories. Bedtime stories. Aside from that, this was an awesome build and great idea. End result was fantastic. I like the option of staining/painting the wood. Again, good video!
Thanks Adrian :)
Просто супер
Great!!!!
Cool very nice.
