@@noorykorky5056 I know I was stating the "why" about why they had to take her away from him. Poor baby has been through enough. I have ASD, my person died in December and I nearly followed him. To this day, I still kinda shut down when talking about him with my family or I just lose it and ugly cry lol
@@xen241 I am so sorry for your loss :*( I lost my twin sister over a year ago and I feel just numb and empty. I also have ASD. I was thinking maybe because he's aware that Leta hurt him and he's bolstering his courage and resolve to not seem as he is...? I don't know if that makes sense...but sometimes when someone has really hurt me...I am so focused on not doing anything vulnerable around them (including masking more so they have less to criticize) that I can seem less autistic. Like...if I am very angry my anxiety dwindles down and I put effort into creating a fortress around my mind and heart and if I don't know if I can trust someone I won't indulge any tells that I am different...because I am hyperfocusing on doing what they won't expect. Like...if someone mocked me or bullied me...I can get to this place where anger fills me and it's not hot it's very...logical and it can diminish my anxiety because finally a sense of righteous anger has made me very self protective. It's usually more the anger taking over and cutting off their ability to see what makes me different/ sensitive/ or traits that I intellectually know could be mocked more by those I no longer trust. I find anxiety brings out more stereotypical autistic traits for me and fear or boredom, too, but a cool anger that burns long term can provide a conviction and takes space in my mind and the overwhelm of the social situation can be compressed because my principle emotional state is keeping me in check and not letting this person see the chinks in my armor. Leta was the only one that Newt could look at in the eye for so long. The only one he felt comfortable around and safe with. Why?!?!?!
Newt definitely displays ASD-coded characteristics, so this makes it far more significant.
