Emojis as symbols, it landed on a mermaid evoking memory of one of my artworks. Reminding me of mental blocks when meditating on shadow work, which I am on the other side of, nearly. This time. Handling ups and downs with grace, ease and a little paranoia. I can better adapt by writing everything down as a reference for later. Listen to my heart and keep privacy close by. Finished with golden glittery energy aura around the wheel. Thank you as always :)

Hi Taj and thank you for sharing this evocative experience. It’s fascinating how the unconscious finds new and contemporary ways to communicate with us. Perhaps particularly pertinent given that the Wheel of Fortune represents the passage of time.
The mermaid seems to carry personal significance for you, given that it reminded you of one of your artworks. Often they symbolise the connection between two worlds - the conscious and unconscious. This duality might be reflective of your journey through shadow work. It’s wonderful that you are making art as a way to connect to deeper parts of yourself. This can be very powerful and was famously used by Jung with himself and his patients.
Glad these exercises are useful to you as you navigate shadow work. You are right that it does constitute a phase in time - an underworld cycle - and you will get to the other side of it. At the same time shadow work itself is never completely ‘done,’ and is always happening to some degree for those choosing to walk the path. It might be interesting to take a look at your birth chart and numerological forecast to see how your year numbers are relating to the tarot.
The golden glittery energy aura around the wheel is a powerful image. Gold often symbolises transformation, purity, and enlightenment, along the lines of alchemy transmuting base metals into gold.
Thanks again for sharing your experience and I am interested to hear how the rest of your shadow work journey unfolds in time 🙂

Thanks for these videos. Being a clinical psychologist myself, I will try to integrate these into my practice.
Are there any textbooks I can study with similar exercises?
    Thanks

You're welcome... and wonderful to hear that you are interested to use these exercises in your clinical work. For texts on the subject, check out Inner Work by Robert Johnson, which is one of the forefront practical guides to active imagination and dreamwork. Also check out The Red Book by Jung for a record of his own experiences with it, plus Jung on Active Imagination by Joan Chodorow for a compilation of Jung's works on the subject.
