@@carmsth magic a point guard tho
Za Za I think weight matters more. You’ll never see kd body up with Howard
Very true
Point guard: to get the ball in the other teams half and run the offense
Shoot guard: long distance shoots and (sometimes) get in the other teams half
Small forward versatile player who should be able to make long shots and get inside the key
Power forward: mainly shooting shots inside the paint, sometimes makes 3's
Center: tallest player, always inside the paint to rebound and dunk/layout the ball

How long does it take to "get into" basketball? I'm 14 and 178 cm tall but I have no basketball experience, I've been looking to get into this sport but I am not very fit and I am worried people will think of me as a bad player and not want me on their team? What should I do?
Your fears are totally naturally but they shouldn't stop you from at least giving it a shot. Play as much as you can and watch our videos to help you work on your technique. We're sure you'll be suprised at how quickly your improve! Thanks for commenting :) Let us know how you get on

dead meme play hard and practice
dead meme don't worry that's what teams are for to help you improve and sure people will think you are bad but they won't not want you on the team they will help you improve and encourage you I have bad people on my team but I help them improve and try to make them get goals in games
just try and see what happens
Hey I'm the tallest let me be centre
*5 years later* Still not played another position since then boys
I’m 17, 5”6’, and a senior in high school.... the last time I played basketball competitively was my freshman year on the freshman team. I want to get back into it but I honestly don’t even compare to the skill level. I’m extremely competitive by nature and been practicing for 3-5 hours everyday after school to try and get better. My issue is when I get on the court in basketball pe, I tend to forget how to shoot or what good passes and bad passes are. My handles are better than anyone else’s on varsity and my shooting is decent. I just choke a lot under pressure even though I rarely miss when practicing. How do I fix this?
@Tony Li That makes so much sense... How have I not thought of this.. Thank you so much, this honestly might just be the guidance I need. Playing hella pick up games in my local gym is going to be my new goal. So much to learn but ima stay motivated. Thank you man, I really appreciate you!
Finesse you gotta develop that mamba mentality my guy, convince yourself that you can’t miss, envision the rim being bigger than it is and tell yourself that every game will be your last so you leave no regrets on the floor, I used to have bad anxiety so everyday I’d train non stop and constantly tell myself that death is coming sooner than we all think, life is short and I ain’t got time to worry over making mistakes, if you miss you miss, just go out there and do it again until you make it and with that thought process you become so mentally tough almost nothing can throw you off, after you’ve got that, your skill will speak for itself
A bit late but you just gotta focus on the rim while shooting
Thanks for keeping it simple and understandable

Bruh I don’t play basketball and I tried out for my school team, and I actually made it but I don’t know much about basketball 😂😂
t i r e d same brother
t i r e d it’s a great sport, just get to grinding and you might actually end up loving it, who knows with enough work and good genetics you might become a beast
Wow
travis la flame guys I’ve been practicing and I have some of the fastest handles on the team 😎
t i r e d ayyy fire my guy, if you can, get record yourself or get someone to record you practicing, watch yourself back and then you can look where you go wrong by watching yourself back and comparing it to NBA players, if you’re a PG I’d watch Kyrie, Curry, Lillard, Gary Payton, Chris Paul etc. If you’re comparing yourself to some of the best in the NBA and you work hard enough to the point where you’re emulating them, you’re definitely gonna be a solid player on your team
Lets be real
Im 5'5
Im a water boy
Solved
Eathan Xander Huy Tol wtf are there water boys in basketball tournament? Tf lmao bruv
5'5 im 15 and not sure if im able to be even water boy xd
Im 6 foot but i want to play 3
Lol, the waterboy is a position where the person is situated on the sidelines and will never set foot on the basketball court, except for timeouts. The waterboy's job is to ensure optimal hydration for the 5 players when they return from the court. This is usually through chilled fountain water or a chilled sports beverage, and is usually contained in an orange Gatorade-branded drink dispenser. Usually the waterboy has an below or average stature and has the most low key personality almost to the point of invisibility, yet the waterboy will face punishment and humiliation by the coach and players if his duties are not performed properly. Ideal for players who were unable to earn a role on the actual basketball team.
Lol j/k..I used to be a waterboy for one season:-)
@@Dakid015 i wish i could be a water boy im not good even for that..its sad just sad..

I'm 4 years old and 2 ft tall, I suck at basketball, so I've been the team's waterboy. I wanted to try being the team coach, what position should I be in?
Center
Shooting Guard
You should be the ball
The hoop
Be the coach’s *whistle*
I just moved to the Philippines and EVERYONE hoops here, but i'm hesitant to join in because the last time I played was in high school gym. Thanks for the quick breakdown, now I'll actually understand what's going on while I watch from my apartment window 😂
The high school girls basketball coach wants me try out next year (Sophomore year). I have some basketball experience and I’m alright I guess. I like to run most of the time but I’m average speed and tire. What position should I try? I’m competitive, tall, and athletic according to the coach

I am a 14year old 172cm in height and a good shooter and a good defender. I can block shots too. I can also finish at the rim. Which positions should i play??
I came here bcz tomorrow is my sport meet😂😍🥰🥰
What should i play? I'm 14, 150 pounds, 6 ft and have a vertical of like 26 inches or something. I'm not very good at shooting from behind the three point line, but I'm good at layups, ofc.
Play center.
Im tiny and it anoys me so bad, because I want to play small forward. Im 5,10 and 15 with most Small forwards being 6,3 or higher in my year.
ikenna unamadu
Be a shooting guard
the thing is when i was 15 (now 16) i really wanted to be a center at the height of 5,11 but my coach was like no you have to play small forward sometimes your body dictates your position and even your skill set even now im around 6 ,3.5 pushing 6,4 i still play small forward with the occasional move to center while in game you are 15 so you will probably grow a little more
ikenna unamadu you should try being the water boy
ikenna unamadu I'm also 5,10 and 15 but instead of small forward I picked shooting guard and ive had a ton of success at that position
i feel bad for u mate
Hey guys just started basketball half a year ago (used to play soccer and was one of the best in my state). I’m pretty athletic, my height is 6 foot and I’m 15 (projected to be 6’5 like my bro). If I learnt the game well and practiced hard would I be able to get into the nba?
Can somebody tell me what position I might be best for? I'm not tall. I'm good at defence...I like getting the ball. And I'm not as good at shooting
Cutiepie 68713 small forward
probably a power forward ur not good at shooting and your not tall so you cannot be a center or a guard nor a small forward since you cannot play all position but u like getting the ball so im gonna assume ur decent at driving to the rim so u will probably be playing on the upper post thats y ur a power forward
point guard they’re the shortest and get the ball a lot. They usually don’t shoot and try to make assists
The centre
-Daniele - then don’t touch the ball. What do you want the ball for.
This was super helpful
Great video thank you for the help🙏🏽
This was so simple and easy to understand great vid for beginners!❤
I came here because I’m trying out for the basketball team at my high school with no experience except for terrible middle school instructions
What if I'm twelve and 164 cm tall. What would be the best position for me? I'm not very good at shooting as well.
You seem tall for you age. If you aren't naturally attacking-minded then perhaps a more defensive position would be best for you. But honestly you are still young and can definitely work on your shooting ability if you want to be favoured for more attacking positions :)
Thanks!

3pt - 8/10
Defense - 9/10

seems to me like your a point guard if your passing is that good either that a shooting guard but more a point guard

I’m 13 and 5’9 (176 cm), the tallest in my immediate family is around 6’3 (190 cm) would I play center when I grow up if I were to grow to say 6’5 (196 cm)

Nice
But pleaee do well to add subtitles
I didn’t hear properly
- I'm 5'4
- Good at passing
- Not so good at dribbling (because i easily get scared during 1on1 but im good when im free)
- Not so good at shooting midrange probably 3-5 out of 10 tries when cold but when hot 5-7 out of 10
- Not so good with 3s
- Good at Layups
- Good at rebounding because of high verticals despite of height (but sometimes reckless and short so i prefer to not get the rebound and give it to the taller team mates
- Good at Defending
- Good at stealing the ball (but also reckless sometimes)
- Get blocks sometimes (probably 2-3 blocks per game near the 3pt line and midrange)
I know I suck but I want to know what position should i really go with to practice on it.
maybe power forward

Im 5'4, can play good perimeter defense, can shoot mid range, good acce l and decel, and rebound. What do you think i should play
Well I just came here to finally identify what should position I played because , way back there, my father train me how to play a good basketball player way back then, he always keep saying that, "You should never be contented in one role or position, You will get easy to be defended, You should know how to play the 5 position or simply You should play "All around" so that in any situation you can quickly adjust and make a good play," although my father's strict guidance and training where i want to quit playing basketball because how hard he train me but in the end , thanks to him I can play basketball And help my team to win our every game although I'm not saying that I master all the position, but what my father taught me the basics of those , In the end, I was the one who benefited all of the hellish training with my father,
P.s my father is not a pro basketball player, He is only a regular player who loves to play basketball 😊
Small Forward is the more complete or fully player but I like Power Forwards too
I'm 13 and I'm 154-55 cm long and weigh 40-41kg. Good dribbling and technical and can shoot pretty good. What should I be?
Thank you so much
It's been a long long time since I played basketball. I can't be a point guard or shooting guard because I'm not a shooter. I consider my playing style as a power forward but maybe I'm a small forward?
Thank you
How about the strech 4 , combo guard , swingman, 3&D , point forward , combo forward? lol!
First league game today, probably should’ve watched this earlier.
Thanks really helped

I don't know cuz I shud play small forward cuz I'm a decent shooter and have rlly good handles and good defenses. But I think I cud play centre because I'm 13 and I'm 6ft 1 so I'm d tallest. The thing is I love shooting and don't wanna be a centre just to get the rebound and pass it to someone else so they can shoot. Can some 1 help
Become an all around player and be able to play each position. If you decide to play pro, this will make you a flexible option and more likely to get a good role
I'm 6'1, 195-200 lbs. and can primarily drive, what should I practice as? My friend who knows basketball says either power forward or shooting guard(for some reason lmao)
I'm almost 6'1 175lbs, play combo forward.
people say i m center because i m big and tall but i m good at shooting 2s and 3s so which role am i in?
No jumping rules?
I'm 14 and 5'7 im not that good at long range shooting but inside I'm good...i have ok ball handling and i have amazing defense what postion should i play?
I play small forward or point guard
ball is life
I'm 17, 5'11 good at shooting and layups but bad at defense and dribbling which position should I play?
Sounds like you'd make a good shooting guard or small forward but whatever the position, you'll need to work on your defence!
I am a 13 year old and I only played basketball for 1 year and I never got coached. I am 5 foot 7, 114 pounds and I want to get in a basketball team in school. But idk if I am good enough because there is like 80 people and only13 makes it and idk what position I should play if I do get in. I am fast and somewhat good at dribbling and shooting. What should I do and what should I play?
Nice Video! Guys I am 14 and 160 cm. My midrange game is good, defense is best on the team, above average athletic. I don' really have handles and it is hard for me to sauce things up. Lastly I am the playmaker of the team as well. I would say I fit a forward position but my height is an issue. Any help?
What posistion could i play if im 6'3.5 and 17 yo. I weigh 175 lbs. Im new to basketball and i just wanna learn.
I'm a 4'7 and point guard and small forward
I'm 2'1 and weigh almost 9 pounds. What position should I play?
Me who play small forward need to get rebound cause our center who is tall but suck at rebounding
Can someone please describe the exact role of a small forward, please? I'm 6'3, 158 pounds and pretty good at shooting, I'm wondering what position I should play. I'm 14 until October
I'm 5'1 96 lbs 12 years old and I am good at getting rebounds but bad at shooting and dribbling.
If I’m 11 years old, 5’2, and 112 pounds what position should I play
I’m average at shooting, good at defending, good at layups, and good at dribbling
Either point or shooting guard but PG seems best based on your description
Im 13 and 179cm 60 kg.Where would i suit?
Good defence
Ok shooting
Bad dribbling
beerus sama im not that bad at dribbling so i cant control the ball.I just cant do all this fancy crossovers and ankle breakers.
60 kg at 13? That's unhealthy, but if I was u I would work on my dribbling. Probably the most important component
Wow ur tall
I am 15 and 175cm
What is high and low post mean
When i shoot the basketball it doesnot spin. Is it important to spin the ball and how can i improve this
I am 168cm and 65 kg which role should I play?
In in highschool and I really wanna play power forward or center but in only 6ft
Im 13, 5’10, Good shooting, ok layups, good handling, good passing, and mostly shoot from long range. What Position?
I'd say small forward
For your age anyways. Your coach would probably assign you a role depending on your skill.
