    "How"? Maybe do something while installing new ones, like preventing corrosion? You can paint the hubs, yes.
    And chamfer the drums (so the lip won't form). Easy (but too "controversial" for most folks - your problem).

    are those small holes threaded

      I'm attempting to do this on my 2013 Tacoma. I found these holes, but they don't seem to be threaded. It's very possible I just don't have the right bolts. They say 8 mm x 1.25 inclination. So I'm going to order those and see if they work. Toyota's have always had a rust problem.
