HealthCARE Conversations

People with disability share their experiences of navigating the health system, where they can be talked down to or spoken to via a carer even when they are able to understand make their own healthcare decisions.
This video, designed for health practitioners and those studying health care, aims to improved communication between health practitioners and people with disability. It includes:
* practical tips for effective communication and engagement with people with disability
* the voices of people with lived experience of disability
* tips from Dr Jane Tracy, from the Centre for Developmental Disability Health Victoria at Monash Health.
