During most of the song she's completely frightened and trembling… and then suddenly she's all brave and doing the "Don't you dare, you little shit" face
+Purplelady0790 In my opinion, the problem is that the visuals aren't extravagant enough, especially for this very pompous-sounding song. The pointy teeth is the only visually interesting part. Other than that, he's just standing in a dark room.
+Xylo Piano Also, what the heck is he doing at 0:01? I understand that the shifty eyes are to make him look sneaky, but what's he doing with his hands?
I think he is better then Hans, why?.Well,on every single Disney musical movie I aways wait for my favorite part, the villain song, and Frozen had a Villain Song? NOOOO.This pissed me off man...
Hans: True love's kiss? Oh Anna, if there only would be someone who loves you." Anna: "What do you mean?" Hans: You see, in childhood i never seat on the throne. The title of a king was bestowed on four of my brothers, leaving me the prince. So, when i will be rid of you and your sister, i will be come the king and bring summer back to Erendale." Hans: "What?! But-but- i thought you loved me." Hans: "Love you?" Hans starts histericlly laughing wich it triggers the song.
It's clear that the people making this movie weren't even on the same wavelength the music implies he's marrying into the royal family but the actual written plot implies he's going to have her hanged
Alright is it a little strange how: Anistasia (Secret of Anistasia; 1997): Readhead who falls in love with bad guy Anna (Frozen; 2013): Readhead who falls in love with bad guy Paul (Secret of Anistasia; 1997): Evil guy who fakes love to get power Hans (Frozen; 2013): Evil guy who fakes love to get power I'm just saying........
Actually, most or all of Disney’s movies that feature a princess are based on a true story or an old tale from a long time ago. They did not rip of this movie, they created an adaptation of an old tale. Look it up, you might find smthn intriguing
It feels like the screenwriters and the music department worked separately - in the movie he states that he is going to have Anastasia executed, but sings about marrying her to get money instead.
Also ... has anyone noticed how this movie and the broadway musical share the exact same plot? replacing Rasputin with a communist guy who wants to ends his father's job...
Anastasia looks like one of those characters from a "learn how to draw manga!!!" book for middle schoolers (I grew up with the Fox version of this movie so this makes no sense to me, I'm only here bc Tumblr)
Wtf, I grew up with this, without knowing that this was a bootleg. I've never watched the real movie, but always preferred this one, due to nostalgia and the good music
Same with me, I grew up on this version and the golden films version of Anastasia and only saw the real movie like 2 years ago. I still remember the songs from this 13 years later XD
Oh my god I remember watching this movie again and again for hours when I was a child , not knowing it’s a bootleg version but still I prefer this version and I love it so much I even went out of my way at 24 yeas old to purchase a dvd copy since I no longer own my vhs one. Omg the nostalgia. I remember having the biggest crush on prince Paul ??? And I still DO 💁🙈❤️
It's the animation. Like seriously, there is lack of emotion on Anastasia's face and you could have made the prince with more visuals, honestly, what's wrong with exaggeration, huh? You could have had the prince turn into into a snake during "charming as a rattlesnake". That would've been super cool and would kinda pay up for being a shameless Don Bluth ripoff
I can't help but think this should have been Hans's villain song from Frozen. It just WORKS. Disney would have made it less corny, but just imagine this slowed down and more menacing, maybe with some callback melody to "love is an open door" thrown in.
Okay but who else grew up on this ? I remember watching this at my grandmas house as a child so many times. Who thought this was kid movie appropriate. Now watching as an adult just… what the hell man.
If you want the picture of a charming prince I take the cake But now you find me all the more alarming since I'm charming as a rattlesnake My debonair and dazzling personality Was like a dream But now that you're awake the harsh reality is Things aren't always what they seem Taken in my dashing grin You had failed to note the pointy teeth I'm no fraud but beneath this warm facade I'm Prince Charmless underneath Just look at what a lovely little royal pair We're gonna make 'Cause everyone is absolutely unaware We two are both completely fake! You've been grand for the plots I've planned And my gratitude's profound and large Now's the time for the world to know that I'm Hardly harmless illaquitte or harmless No I'm Prince Charmless and I'm in charge
I feel like the song writers had first wanted him to just be a malicious prince but then they went with another direction half way and said that he was also a fraud.
I grew up with both Anastasia. I find this moment funny. Her face just says: "So...why are you singing? Shut up please. Get to the point." xD Priceless.~
I'm honestly glad I wasn't a kid when this came out. I'd hate to have nostalgia goggles attached to this when I grew up with plenty of higher quality animated movies and shows. Though, to be fair, this is a pretty catchy song. Even if the characters are pretty wooden.
My friend, as someone who grew up with this, it is legit a cartoon from the 5 dollar bin at Walmart. It was never good and the plot what fucking bonkers. I’d watch it just to laugh.
That lyric, “Now you find me all the more alarming since I’m as charming as a rattlesnake,” is like the lyric, “You’re as charming as an eel, Mr. Grinch.”
As a little kid (6 y/o) this song was the awakening of something deep in me and I'm still not sure what it was but I do know that this movie and this song particularly fundamentally changed something in me a long time ago that you can still see shining though in my personality 10 years later
I was fucking obsessed w/ this movie as a kid, i used to watch it every night before i slept. Havent heard thjs in ages, but i knew every word . a note to all artists, even if you aint making the "best" looking stuff, theres gonna be Someone out there whos your biggest fan
"Now henchmen, don't forget to cock your guns!" "Uh, you mean our pistols, sir? The ones that have no cocking mechanism on them whatsoever?" "Yes, those ones! It'll be real intimidating!" "Ugh... just do what he says; he has no idea how guns work. Just make the clicking sound with your mouth, he won't notice."
PJEffect I am like the bots on MST3K so yes, I love laughing at terrible movies. I also figured this was one of those awful movies that try to emulate Disney. This song, though, is surprisingly decent.
Oh, yeah. I know. I just saw some other movies this company produced and they have ones that are ripoffs of Disney movies. Anastasia is very Disney-esque because of Don Bluth so I just put it under the umbrella term.
i got this movie when i was three (in 1998) and when i first watched Frozen i immediately noticed some similarities between Paul and Hans. the song certainly fits both of them
Well, the song as it is is on par with other disney villain songs. However, Anastasia just doesn't give a borsht on how well he sings, her expression alone just wants him to finish. Too bad animation budget cuts make scenes like these really dull.
heh! I love the song...the singing and the rhythm just go together so well...I'm going to give the artist props for trying to draw...I just can't help but notice all the imperfections. Drawing is hard though...so congrats at making a movie! whoever did it
Ah, so this is where it's originally from. Hadn't heard of this movie till now, had only known the Fox version of Anastasia, which is most likely the super version of course. Day animation tho. And dat finger waggling :P lol. And pump action revolvers :PP
Blueberry706 Actually, he’s one of the 12 half-brothers of Prince Charming from the Shrek films, because according to the Shrek 2 musical parody It’s Not Ogre Yet, the Fairy Godmother slept with 12 different Kings.
Some people call this a ripoff but it was the 1st Anastasia film I ever saw as a kid, and I love it! The songs are so great and catchy that this song in particular started playing in my mind as I'm preparing for an exam😁. Anyways, once I'm done with it I'll finally check out the Fox Animation Studios' version for the first time in me life.(I hope the songs will be good)
I actually remember watching this movie as a little kid at my grandma's place. XD Don't worry, at home I had all the real Disney movies, so I didn't have that bad of a childhood.
All right let’s be honest; who listened to this dollar bin BOP growing up instead of “Once upon a December” like most people did? I’ll start first. ... *Raises hand*
I just found a coded message in one of my old books that I'd written about 4 years ago and couldn't for the life of me remember what it said, spent ages decoding it only to realise it was part of the lyrics to this song🤦 I punked myself
The songs great and the animation on him isn't outright terrible but she's scary looking, like a kids anime and Winx club hybrid who's had too much botox so she can't emote!
If Anastasia was a Gravity Falls fan and the guy was Bill Cipher (which he kinda looks like him) I could see her having a different reaction to this. I could see her fangirling over him if that was the case.
I remember my mom actually bought me this dvd and it was like two in one dvd, so it also had this weird caterpillar Mulan. my mom found this in the bargain bin at Hastings and she was trying to save some bucks. Remember I love this movie but now looking back I’m like why😂
My Secret of Mulan Music CD, brought me here, also because I have wanted to see this movie. Love the song, very catchy. Ex-Prince Paul is right in some points about the facade, hehe!
The Song: Great.
The singer: Great
The sound effects: Good for when it was.
The actors: Fantastic.
The animation: *Vomits*
Lol so srue
So true.
I feel like all the budget went to the voice acting part… I'm actually kinda glad they did that
Jayfeatherisawesum Hey you're a warriors fan :D
Lilllate Yeah the voice acting was given a lot of time....
Yeah I think that the animation art is good but the animation flow and timing is to slow for the audio
The actor is obviously having a good time playing this role, haha
Eva D. I would too.
They say that the villian is the most fun role to play
I would love doing the role too.
Now let's wave our index fingers back and forth while we wait for the orchestra to catch up.
Haha
OMG URNAM 7 AAAAAAAAA
I am Russian Dracula, now watch me as I spontaneously spawn a tall hat and black coat, WITNESS MY WIZARDRY
Oh good, found one of Hans' brothers. Just got to find 11 more.
Oh god,I thought I was the only one who thought this is kinda like Frozen! XD
Rain Peach
Yep *takes out check list and checks him off*
Rain Peach LOL
Rain Peach lol
PleAse don't mention that idiotic excuse of a prince who used Anna
During most of the song she's completely frightened and trembling… and then suddenly she's all brave and doing the "Don't you dare, you little shit" face
XD. Exactly.
Lilllate I thought she love the general but why does this guy have her
And why is she shaking😭🤔And how come the general didn't even save
I've seen the whole movie and the animation is all over the place.
Lilllate, the singing made her question why she's afraid of him XD
Lilllate
Lol ikr
This animation does not do the song justice.
So true
+DigbyTheGoat It really doesn't.
+DigbyTheGoat you understand this was a movie quite a while ago back, before a shit tone of shading like HOME and such.
y'all need to shut up because Paul was the original Hans.
its true though.
Cam B that's so true!
OMG Lol xD
I think he is better then Hans, why?.Well,on every single Disney musical movie I aways wait for my favorite part, the villain song, and Frozen had a Villain Song? NOOOO.This pissed me off man...
***** lmao no its not
Anastasia in the beginning of the song: Trembling in fear
Anastasia at the end of the song: "Are you done now? -.-"
Russians must have been so strong and advanced that they made a pistol-shotgun hybrid what with them cocking those guns.
This is the villain song that Prince Hans deserved
YAS! Seriously though!
Hans: True love's kiss? Oh Anna, if there only would be someone who loves you."
Anna: "What do you mean?"
Hans: You see, in childhood i never seat on the throne. The title of a king was bestowed on four of my brothers, leaving me the prince. So, when i will be rid of you and your sister, i will be come the king and bring summer back to Erendale."
Hans: "What?! But-but- i thought you loved me."
Hans: "Love you?" Hans starts histericlly laughing wich it triggers the song.
Yessss❤
Wait... Weren't those revolvers? Why did they sound like shotguns? Am I going crazy?
Even Anastasia looked confused
+Annica321 Let's play "spot where the animators really messed up"
They are flintlocks guns not revolvers.
Beta Devlin your right
It's clear that the people making this movie weren't even on the same wavelength the music implies he's marrying into the royal family but the actual written plot implies he's going to have her hanged
The song is fantastic but the stupid animation has no dynamic or emotion
The song alone if good a little cheesy but good but the animation is so stiff and lifeless
I have not seen this movie, so I'm kinda just laughing at her expressions near the end of the song. She's just like "Really? You done yet?"
Alright is it a little strange how:
Anistasia (Secret of Anistasia; 1997): Readhead who falls in love with bad guy
Anna (Frozen; 2013): Readhead who falls in love with bad guy
Paul (Secret of Anistasia; 1997): Evil guy who fakes love to get power
Hans (Frozen; 2013): Evil guy who fakes love to get power
I'm just saying........
Would Disney really stoop so low as to rip off a mockbuster?
I think they know how unpopular and unheard of this was .. so yeah rip off
Yay more peaple noticed this
or even better!
Both name Anna...and set in same era too..
Actually, most or all of Disney’s movies that feature a princess are based on a true story or an old tale from a long time ago. They did not rip of this movie, they created an adaptation of an old tale. Look it up, you might find smthn intriguing

@@Omarsh1692 To be fair, it is more accurate.
Anastasia looks like one of those characters from a "learn how to draw manga!!!" book for middle schoolers
(I grew up with the Fox version of this movie so this makes no sense to me, I'm only here bc Tumblr)
yea she does
I grew up watching the Secrets of Anastasia. I thought the FOX version was a remake made in the 2010s
T-that's not how revolvers work.
I do believe you correct. :P
I want to see them fire those. They'll burn their fingers :3
I was like that's not how a revolvers used you can't go shot gun with that
Well, I think a colt-shotgun would be one of the most powerful firearm ever :)
Even worse, I think they're flintlocks...
Same 😂 this movie has some brilliant songs 😂 that I can recite it off by heart
Today I learned this movie was bootleg?
I watched the bootleg then the real, didn’t realize it was a bootleg until today.
I though this was from some TV show, this was a movie?
So this is what I missed out on through my childhood??
Princesses, Russians, and guns all together in one movie
That's all I've ever wanted
and don't forget the talking instruments instead of the typical animals-
Oh my god I remember watching this movie again and again for hours when I was a child , not knowing it’s a bootleg version but still I prefer this version and I love it so much I even went out of my way at 24 yeas old to purchase a dvd copy since I no longer own my vhs one. Omg the nostalgia.
I remember having the biggest crush on prince Paul ??? And I still DO 💁🙈❤️
same
Literally!!! (I still have my DVD from when my mom gave me all her burnt DVDs and CDs lol)
seriosuly
i love this song XD
the actor is having the time of his life. you can tell hes just having so much fun XD
Charmless: I'm prince Charmless!
Anastasia: Farmless?
Charmless: NO! Charmless!
Anastasia: Barnless?
+Ricky Rehbein (1992andbeyond) Brainless.
For as bad as this ripoff was (Not as bad as Golden Film's Hunchback but still pretty bad.) the songs were surprisingly good! Especially this one!
I know right. Some rip offs have amazing music
I grew up on this collection and the prince collection so i feel like im biased when i say i like this one better lol 😆
I can't help but think this should have been Hans's villain song from Frozen. It just WORKS. Disney would have made it less corny, but just imagine this slowed down and more menacing, maybe with some callback melody to "love is an open door" thrown in.
Miles Alton
YAS
That would've been so cool
Song in the nutshell: So, yeah, I was pretty obviously the bad guy from the start. Don’t know why we waited till now to reveal it.
Okay but who else grew up on this ? I remember watching this at my grandmas house as a child so many times. Who thought this was kid movie appropriate. Now watching as an adult just… what the hell man.
Is incredible that the director of Luca worked in this movie.
Seriously?
@@josephmonasky9495 Yes, seriously. Enrico Casarosa designed the characters and the backgrounds for that movie. Read the end credits.
The original Hans !
If you want the picture of a charming prince
I take the cake
But now you find me all the more alarming since
I'm charming as a rattlesnake
My debonair and dazzling personality
Was like a dream
But now that you're awake the harsh reality is
Things aren't always what they seem
Taken in my dashing grin
You had failed to note the pointy teeth
I'm no fraud but beneath this warm facade
I'm Prince Charmless underneath
Just look at what a lovely little royal pair
We're gonna make
'Cause everyone is absolutely unaware
We two are both completely fake!
You've been grand for the plots I've planned
And my gratitude's profound and large
Now's the time for the world to know that I'm
Hardly harmless illaquitte or harmless
No I'm Prince Charmless and I'm in charge
I feel like the song writers had first wanted him to just be a malicious prince but then they went with another direction half way and said that he was also a fraud.
I hate to be *THAT* person... But I'm pretty sure it's "ill-equipped", not "illaquitte" 😅
"but utterly heartless."
Oh Anna-stasia, if only there were someone out there who loved you
Wow, Internet Date Meetups have taken a new extreme
The song is great, but the animation is rely dead...
I was going to say the exact same thing
Even the typo?
Nevik Drakel
Yes.
...
That's what you get for being a smartass, smartass.
I felt the same way
It's an old Disney movie. Cut it some slack!
This song is definitely up there how can I refuse from the princess and the pauper with how good it is.
XD pump-action revolvers had me laughing.
Lol yea I was kind of questioning that myself XD
those guns bred with some shot guns
loliheartfoxy
Im sure there was a shotgun wedding involved, so atleast those guns aren't bastards.
They are flintlock guns.
the music is good, but the actual animation and choreography is horrible
this looks like a fourteen year old on deviantart animated this
Nah, looks to "good" for that
It’s got some good songs though lol.
I feel this song needs to be longer. Then again. I'm simply biased because I LOVE villain songs. :D
So basically this is Hans before Hans even existed.
This one is better tho since he has the banging song
Best villain song to come from a rip-off.
I grew up with both Anastasia. I find this moment funny. Her face just says: "So...why are you singing? Shut up please. Get to the point." xD Priceless.~
Who is the actor? He does a really good job at singing!

Between the animators and the musicians you can see who cared more about their jobs lmao
So many women would kill for wardrobe change skills like that.
I was today years old when I learned that this movie was a bootleg.
Sick-ass song, though.
True
The song was the best part imo the rest was pretty boring or made no sense
That lyric, “Now you find me all the more alarming since I’m as charming as a rattlesnake,” is like the lyric, “You’re as charming as an eel, Mr. Grinch.”
The actor had so much fun and you can tell
I think the animation is part of what gave this movie its charm...its part of why its so memorable for me

Oh my, Frozen-esque bad prince who is secretly a bolshevik? I must to see this movie, it expects to be glorious.
nadin1898 it isn’t
Anastasia has talking instruments that are her family’s souls stuck on earth
This song is so amazing I am now compelled to watch a movie I've never heard of until now

the original prince hans
Keep in mind this song is from the crappy company that has made the Secret of the Hunchback and other horrible and lackluster Disney ripoffs
Yeah. Note the minimal and recycled animation. If it had been Disney, there would have been some actual choreography.
Alicia Horton
The song is good but the animation is all over the place.
Yeah, for shamelessly ripping off a wonderful movie, the song-writing isn’t that bad!
Anyone else think of Lord Barkis from 'Corpse Bride' with this song? Where can I watch this movie?
Luthien Megido The Secret Of Anastasia, it's up on UA-cam but I wouldn't recommend it unless you like laughing at terrible films

Prince Hans before Prince Hans.
Wait they pumped pistols?! Pistols are supposed to be cocked!
They are actually metal waterguns.
Best villan song ever!
All right let’s be honest; who listened to
this dollar bin BOP growing up instead of “Once upon a December” like most people did? I’ll start first.

*Raises hand*

Where'd he get the random picture frames from?
This is such a great song
So she goes from shivering in fright and looking concerned throughout the whole song before suddenly becoming unimpressed by the end?
The songs great and the animation on him isn't outright terrible but she's scary looking, like a kids anime and Winx club hybrid who's had too much botox so she can't emote!
11 year old me lip syncing this song and pretending to be a badass villain:
ME TOO WHEN I WAS LIKE 9
If Anastasia was a Gravity Falls fan and the guy was Bill Cipher (which he kinda looks like him) I could see her having a different reaction to this. I could see her fangirling over him if that was the case.
*VOMITS*
As someone who like the show myself, yeah. I too puke at the thought.
Fist me papa Same here buddy.
Eugh
Bill's canon humanization by Hirsch himself is far less pretty. i.redd.it/fgiy44ijixwx.png

Prince Hans? Is that you?
