Is the front bit of the lether case also "Eco," leather, or is it hard plastic?
The case is great but the stylus holder is absolute garbage. It allows the pen to flex when my fingers rub against it which in turn causes lets the stylus roll to the side then it falls out.
The cases are honestly a bigger selling point than the upgrades this year
For real. That blue and yellow case is one of the only things stopping me ruling out the Fold this year. Otherwise I'd be getting the Flip, upgrading from a Fold.
Ya! The Z fold 5 slim pen case is like the perfect middle ground between a usable pen that is comfortable to hold and a easily accessible form factor.
personally I love the strap case since I dind't want the S-pen myself

I pre-ordered the fold 5 and I was thinking that the new s pen is too slim to my liking, so I bought the standing case with strap. Turns out I've made the right choice since it works with old gen s pen. This gotta be the most functional case of the bunch and definitely a great purchase.

It's crazy how other companies make better cases for Samsung phones at a lower price point point. I bought the Samsung slim pen case and it is built very cheap for $100 definitely returning

As far as the aesthetics are concerned: am i the only one who's getting tired of getting these gorgeous colorful phones, year after year... And the first thing we have to do is hide them in a case? Unless of course we're ok with our $1800 phone to look like a toddler played rough with it in their sandbox after 6 months.
For the price of these phones we should be able to demand phones that actually last...
If you use these phones like a normal phone and be moderately careful with it, like try not to drop em too much and stuff, it survives quite well. Typing this on a prestine Condition Z Fold 3 after 2 whole years. Just had a screen protector change which was extremely simple. Same goes for my mom's ZFlip 3.
Honestly for how it survived, I'm thoroughly impressed. I even brought it for use in a wood workshop for 3 months, during which there were saw dust everywhere. And it didn't go into the hinge or anything, tho I did have a case on

The fold 4 cases were discounted around Black Friday last year. Hoping for the same this year. Glad to see improvements were made across the board. The strap concerned me at first fearing that the strap accessory could slide out in use but with the phone open it does block the accessory from sliding out which is nice. Also sounds like maybe the accessories click into place more solidly than last year's?
The slim S pen case was one of the reasons i went ahead and ordered the new Fold 5. I can't stand the previous cases. I really like having the s pen always available while still being able to wirelessly charge.
But the s pen slim doesn't have remote control function ? So can't take pictures using the s pen.
@@bboyalanleung123The phone has smile to take a pic, show hand to take a pic, say cheese to take one, and show hand to take one. I think clapping is even an option. The loss of the spen to shoot isnt that big a deal.

Pleasantly surprised by the Gadget Case
If the old s pen attachment fits into the new phone case, than the new flex grip attachment will fit into the fold 4 if you have the fold 4 S pen attachment 😎 I have the bulky grip case and the spen case with the stand attachment for my fold 4..this will give me a nice flushed flex grip on my phone 👍

Thanks for properly testing out the wireless charging as some YTers just do it real quick but that isn't enough to fully test it out.
I learned that lesson last year lol so I was ready to correct it this time around

I'm really struggling with whether or not I should get one of these type on small cases or an Otterbox defender. I work outside and would prefer good protection but don't want the extra bulk. I guess it's just
a trade off.
The slim s-pen case is such a fantastic design and really solves all the issues I had with the older cases I've used. Only thing I absolutely despise is the color choices lol. Don't get me wrong, I'm still getting one, but the colors are just not my cup of tea.
I want that strap case design to fold 4 so badly.. it looks so much better than older one
What i feel the main problem with the fold cases is the front bumper for the case uses adhesive and with time adhesive gets worn out and then you have to use your phone without the front protection.
I feel samsung should do more R&D in the case design for the front bumper so that it just clips on just like the back part of the case .

Yes spen case is already have little bit of thickness so adding strap inside it would be no problem and will be a all in one solution.

I'm upgrading from the Z4 to the Z5 and I wish I'd seen your video before getting the Z5 spen case. I prefer the Z4 spen and could have used the strap case for half the price. The Z4 spen feels like a real pen not an ice cream stick
Thanks, and I hope you're able to do a similar video for the Flip 5. I rarely end up with one of Samsung's cases, partly due to the exorbitant price, but also because 3rd party stuff usually ends up being more interesting and useful for me. The FlipSuit case for the 5 looks like a fun novelty, but way to pricey.

Is there also an attachment for the new Fold 5 S-Pen so that you can use the case with the stand/strap and the new S-Pen or is the Slim S Pen Case actually the only option? (I would even consider buying a third party attachment if there is one)

I'm getting the Fold 5 and interested in that modular case with the strap. In the video you say the old s pen fits into the slot but how should I go about getting a new S pen? Do I have to buy a certain model that comes with that modular piece to slot into the case?
Shane can we still install cameras glass protectors? Those 3 glass lens but the slim case with slim s pen does not seem to have enough gap spaces to install it. TIA.
I have fold 3 and original samsung case for fold 3 feels better the larger spen provides a great grip and since its on the side it doesnt provide extra bump , what i would like to see is combination of leather and and clear case so the screen is acessable when you use backside camera for selfies , would be more practical

Worth testing both wireless charging and sharing in future case reviews. My Fold 5 with no case on can wirelessly charge other devices (e.g. Buds Pro or Watch 6 classic), but cannot wirelessly power share with the standard Samsung S Pen case on. YMMV.

Wow the s-pen case is so much slimmer now that the old one looks absurd! This definitely replates a slot imo. Too bad the phone is still way too expensive after so many generations.
Yep , and im guessing the S pen still doesn't have the useful bluetooth function that proper galaxy notes had , and the watered down ultras too.
the cases look ok , but it still looks ridiculous with the super narrow form factor , I would never but one of these.
@@mikldude9376 I'm not quite sure what bluetooth function watered down on the ultras? I've owned several previous notes and I'm currently using the S23U and It's pretty much a Note in anything but name.
@FrostArchon he meant the Bluetooth remote control features. Essentially, S pens in integrated Note and S22U + S23U phones are Bluetooth connected so the button can be used to shoot photos and videos. With the Fold the pen don't have Bluetooth connection. You need to buy the special Spen Pro to get that feature, but then it comes with its own sleeve.

I'm aware the fold pen is missing Bluetooth features.

I'm tempted to get the phone and a case, but it seems there's no 1st party cases that has a stand and s pen, which is what I'm desiring. You know any good 3rd party cases with both?
So I have a Fold4, and I love it. However, the inside screen got a bubble in the middle, and it just grew and grew. I'm getting it replaced because it's under warranty, but do I really want to? Maybe upgrade to the Fold5, but is it worth it? Or go back to the S (my last phone was a S21) and get the S23. If I don't get a new full year warranty on the replacement of my Fold4, I'm not going to keep it. Any suggestions would be great.

I have heard that the some of the spen is a little loose and it falls off the case. Is it a manufacturing defect or it gets loose after some days of usage?
I know you said it won't wireless charge with the stand attachment, but what about with the strap attachment?

So, when using the stand in the vertical position just be aware that over time it will break in the vertical position. For some reason, the weight of the phone over time will break the hinge. Source my Z Fold 4 kick stand hinge broke over time because I used it over time.

Hi. Thx for the case review. Could you measure the thickness of eco-leather and slim s pen case on the phone? I'm changing my Fold 3 for Fold 5 and I was using Aramid Case which is very thin. I'm looking for most slimmest experiance.
Glad to see Samsung Finally got rid of the "Flower" Design on the Wallpaper! Now that is cool, I think the contrast between the color looks good!
I have the zf4 spen case, I see that it fit the zf5 with the only con of the flash cut out. I don't mind the extra lip of that case with the spen, but I know that with the front bumper part of the case there's really no gap between the front and back parts of the case when the phone its close. Can you try having both front and back bumpers on the new zf5 while close to see if this will be an issue. I would like to not have to buy a whole new case if I can just use my old one. I can just cut out a hole for the flash if that's the only con...
