What is a .577 good for when it needs 6+ shots to bring a buffalo down and keep him suffer for hours ? Might an 8x68s , .375 or .416 might be a better medicine ? I believe in God and Mauser, and if it woud be legal I woud try it with my 9,3x62 - like Anno Hecker and Patrick Hemingway - which both shot hills of buffalo and elephants with this calibre .
8x68 are illegal to hunt cape Buffalo in nearly all off the African countries. 9x62 are legal but not advisable seeing that there are better options available. Doesn't matter what caliber you pick generally you'll need more than one shot to take a Cape Buffalo down.. 577 nitro will do the job much better than smaller calibers.
Russ insisted he wanted to hunt with his 16" Carbine, chambered in .357 Mag. I'm sure glad I was able to convince him to bring his .577 Express. For once, dumbass Russ took my advice.

Guys, for the record this is not Mark's first Buffalo in South Africa. Hi Everyone For the record, The 1st Buffalo taking by Mark in South Africa is in 2013 with Patrick de Beer PH and Outfitter of Mugaba Safaris from Heidelberg. My comment is with no discredit to the Outfitter and facilitator of the hunt. Safe hunting. Rooiland Safaris & Outfitters.
Thank you for setting the record straight. Again, no disrespect to anyone but just putting the correct facts out there. Regards. Patrick de Beer Mugaba Safaris South Africa
That appears to be typical of these tender foot African safari guys. They mostly depend on large rifles and lots of mediocre shooting. I don't think they would cut it in a rugged mountain hunt in the western USA where they might meed to hike for 20 miles per day and get one shot or go home with nothing but sore muscles and feet.
Not nice Honorio, and, to revert a compliment, people such yourself are a bit deranged as well - for one they hate hunting bit they are drawn like flies to dung by hunting videos, for the second that salad eating seriously affects the capacity to see and understand that others might have other choices than soy-late. Embarrassing, heh?
Honorio everyone hunts at least twice a day but most let others do the cleaning and killing because the are unprepared or untrained so you hunt at the grocery or pantry .Blame your ancestors because you like hunting shows and can't clean food that God provided for us .
The real shame is on you and others who judge hunters that want fresh meat then buy meat from a store the animals are treated horrible and kept in horrible conditions P.O.S!!!

Definitely on my bucket list!
Oh yeah... Very big, strong buffalo. Nice video. Like.

Bullet placement not great on this hunt. The customer can’t shoot.

That Jeter looks like he needs to do some more walking. 🚶
577 NE that's an overkilling caliber bra
Humbulani sydney Raphalalani it’s definitely not
you’re fine as long as you use solids.
Very bad editing
Big mouth.

Why? They need harvesting.
He said he killed 600 but but in this video it seemed more
Like murder to me because of all the shots
if i had to shoot an animal 10 times i would not put it on youtube!! shameful display!
Not many buffalo go down with a shot
Ja nee hy skiet soos 'n doos...

Yes tell them they shoot like a box.

A .270? Are you being serious, or just ignorant concerning bullet capabilities? It’s not a whitetail they were hunting.
Russ Jeter is a horrible shot. Better off using an RPG.
