Welcome back Becca! I pray that you are finding solutions to your issues and that you are staying healthy. I can speak for everyone in that we have missed your down-to-earth and inspirational analyzes of Angelina's music, as well as other artists. Your interpretation of this song is pretty accurate and I would just add that Angelina relayed to us at a live stream a few months ago that this song is dedicated to her fans, the angels. We are the ones that love her and that she loves and we keep her going. I don't think I have ever heard an artist dedicate a song like this to their fans. When she says she loves us she means it. I don't know exactly when she wrote this song but it is possible that it was during COVID when she was not able to perform and perhaps she was down on things. But the knowledge that she would be in front of her fans at some point in the near future kept her going and kept her strong. I am hoping you're able to do more but of course move at your own pace and do what you can when you are able. Peace and love.

The combination of her talent, her fantastic growth, her unique voice, the profound lyrics and the beauty of the emotions they convey leave me simply enchanted, grateful to have met her 10 years ago and to have had the pleasure of being able to follow her incredible evolution over the years. The mix of styles, timbres, voices, genres and tones that this girl manages to use is incredible, it's not only a question of her primary jazz training, which she has developed excellently, but also of all the musical sources that she has absorbed in these wonderful years of experimentation and training, which she reworks and connects in a unique way, like the true artist she is. I still can't decide which song I prefer, 6 new songs are too much to digest at once, but I loved every minute spent listening to this EP. I love her extraordinary ability to mix old and new in music, it's another of her extraordinary characteristics.💛🧡❤

Now I know you're in the middle of the EP....but please queue up Princess of Ruins near the top of your list. That is the song she debuted in Vegas, surprising all that were there (me too, blessedly). It's about the beautiful story where she gave her shoes to the shoeless girl when she was 6. Like the story itself and the poetic way she wrote about it in a book published when she was 9 (!) - the song lyrics are beautiful and profound. Would love to hear your take, as no reactor to my knowledge has done this yet.
Maybe by the time she finishes reacting to the EP, James Thiel will have produced a video for "Princess of Ruins" because none of the versions I've seen don't do her justice & it's hard to understand some of the lyrics.

To my regret, the differentiation between the sexes has been completely overturned since I was educated in the 30s-40s, We were taught that there were authors and authoresses, actors and actresses, poets and poetesses. Even ladies and gentlemen, girls and boys have been discarded, other than on very formal, for the all encompassing "guys" or "you guys". At times, I despair.😪
I don't personally care for Diva, but l can live with it in the case of fans, as to honor someone. It literally means Divine. I wouldn't use that description for any human being , male or female.

I take those words to be representative, respectively, of externally imposed hardships (playing off of metaphors like "going through fire" or "getting burned") and internal struggles (by the common analogy of rain with tears). I guess it's kind of a surprisingly minor point, really, with everything else going on in the song, but I figured I'd just put that out there…
