I am an older man and have listened to different versions of this song through the decades. But, none of those that I have heard before have even comes close to the beauty of Josh's voice and singing of O Holy night as it is sung here! To top it off, the video of Christ's birth and the events just prior and just after his birth are also so well done here and so moving.! I think the beauty of God shows through in Josh's voice and is this video!

14 years ago I stopped my addiction and this is the song that wiped my soul clean. I sat in a parking lot listening to it and my deceased grandmother came to me in a vision and made me whole again. Every year I listen to this song and cry like I’m a child again bc I felt a power unlike any other. I can’t describe the feeling I had but this song and Groban’s version is truly spiritual. I will never forget that moment as it had come to define the person I have become. I thank God every day that I was able to overcome that addiction because it brought me to a dark and desolate place that all who read this should avoid. It may sound cliche, but we all who suffer from this disease have to take it one day at a time. For those who need to hear this, welcome your rock bottom and use it because that’s all you can do. It isn’t easy and it might not get better right away but the alternative is darkness.

Jesus freed me from a life long addiction as well. A life long battle with sin ended with a prayer that changed my life. I still struggle with old thoughts from time to time, but I’ve been awakened to the reality of my sin and given the strength to turn away from it. I love hearing stories like yours. Praise God!

Jesus Christ was the only person who stood up and said, "NO" to the Roman Dictatorship of over 2,000 year ago, Romans had been ruling the middle east and Europe for the past 12,000 years and he said "ENOUGH", Jesus was the influence of many others to finally say, that we are all human, and thus want to be treated as so, as did Martin Luther, in the 1500s as did Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, Ruby Bridges, and many others in our day in age, We are all Human, We all deserve to be treated as such, and we all model, Jesus Christ, religious and non religious, Jesus was a real person, Jesus is a model to stand up, and say that you and I are humans, and that we humans shall and will be treated as such, so help me!!!

Jesus Christ didn't come to stand up to the Roman government. You got it all wrong, my friend. He did not preach rebellion against Rome at all. In fact, He said "Render onto Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's." He was not a political figure or this humanitarian most people visualize Him to be. I am not religious myself. But as far as I am concerned you are missing something inside of you if you cannot appreciate the absolute beauty of songs like this. Of all Christmas songs, this is my favorite and though I don't celebrate Christmas with the same reverence that religious folk do. It has to be my favorite part of the year to be with family. I adore Christmas music in all its forms and Josh's voice in this song gives me chills.
You seem to have a good heart and a wonderful soul, and I believe you are closer to God than you realize. He reaches us in many ways, even through the voice of one of his children. Dare yourself to open your heart to him. In any event, have a wonderful and blessed Christmas.

I know you wrote this a long time ago but Jesus is coming back soon . He said in the scripture "no one knows the day or the hour , but when you see these things happening know that i am near , even at the door..." If you have never asked Jesus to be real to you and to reveal himself to you and experience his love please consider doing it for heaven and hell are real just like Jesus and we will have to make up our minds soon where we want to be for eternity.

Jesus Christ was the only person who stood up and said, "NO" to the Roman Dictatorship of over 2,000 year ago, Romans had been ruling the middle east and Europe for the past 12,000 years and he said "ENOUGH", Jesus was the influence of many others to finally say, that we are all human, and thus want to be treated as so, as did Martin Luther, in the 1500s as did Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, Ruby Bridges, and many others in our day in age, We are all Human, We all deserve to be treated as such, and we all model, Jesus Christ, religious and non religious, Jesus was a real person, Jesus is a model to stand up, and say that you and I are humans, and that we humans shall and will be treated as such, so help me!!!

Jesus Christ didn't come to stand up to the Roman government. You got it all wrong, my friend. He did not preach rebellion against Rome at all. In fact, He said "Render onto Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's." He was not a political figure or this humanitarian most people visualize Him to be. He was and IS the Son of GOD who came into this world to DIE for us and give salvation to ALL who believe and abide in Him. Even to the Romans and all those snobby Jewish elders. Well, you are close. Pontius Pilate certainly comes into play. They probably have records of Jesus Christ. In the Bible, it indicates that Jesus Christ was crucified under Pontius Pilate. He actually let himself be crucified, because he knew that was the Father’s will for him. So he could die one time for all of our sins. So that God the Father would forgive us all, once and for all. He paid a hefty price. After three days, he rose from the grave and appeared to many people for quite some time, after which time he ascended into heaven and he is now seated at the right hand of God the father. 😊

If this were not true then why would he have given up his only Son Jesus to come and die for everyones sins if he was going to send some to hell. I am an atheist but can still enjoy the beautiful music of the carols. Josh Groban's version of this carol was absolutely incredible. His voice is stupendous and he can sing any style of music.
