@@user-nu4um2gr3d you saw and remember one of the best NLCS of all time. The Astros also played the Phillies in '80, in another classic. Skipping classes to watch baseball was part of the charm of baseball in the 60's-70's. Nothing like late-summer baseball. Watching Bob Gibson, Al Kaline, Brooks and Frank Robinson, Clemente, Pete Rose and Johnny Bench was special, beyond words.
Just marvel at the names on the backs of those Reds' uniforms. Rose, Morgan, Bench, Perez, Foster, Griffey, etc. all on one team!!! How in the world did they ever lose a game? They sure didn't lose in the '76 postseason, sweeping the Phils and the Yanks. I turned 16 right before the start of the playoffs. As a huge Reds fan, and an even bigger Johnny Bench fan, the month of October made me the happiest kid in the world!
Jim Kaat really pitches super-fast. MLB would love Kaat pitching in today game in 2024. No delay or stalling in Kaat's approach to this game in 1976. This is when baseball was still great.
Two Hall of Famers in the broadcast booth. Michaels as a broadcaster. Seaver as a player. Not to mention Schmidt , Morgan, Bench , Carlton, in the game
And Perez, along with one of the greatest players in the history of the game, Rose, excluded from the B.S. Hall. Despite his exclusion, the B.S. Hall has several displays featuring Rose Gear..Hypocrites
Well it's a tape recording that was poorly ripped by the original uploader and gone through like 5 layers of digital compression. It definitely looked better when it aired
After school game. It was special back then to come home to the playoffs.
I'm not quite old enough to remember this, but I do remember afternoon playoff games. Mets Astros 86 was one of the greatest NLCS I can remember.

My whole style was Dave Cash in 76. What a summer to be 16.
Oh man what a awesome time with the players and I even remember the umps name
Al Micheal started with the reds even in the booth they had hof
No such thing as a routine close against the BRM, because no lead was safe against the BRM.

Thanks for the video. Do you have the other games in the series
Nope, this is it
Ninth inning back to back homers by Foster and Bench ties the game.
ty fo this appreciate it
Not sure why I am getting this recommended from a horror video from Markiplier but sure.
lol
I guess it is a horror show if you're rooting for the Phillies
Hard to believe we used to think this low definition crap was fine

@falco2911 our reception was snowy as hell as we didn't have cable. My dad would've loved watching this game as it is now.
Sweet... No sissy DH rule in those days!
