  • Quarterback Kirk Cousins delivers a standout performance, pushing the Atlanta Falcons to a thrilling 22-21 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football. Aaron Freeman breaks down the clutch performances that led to the win. He breaks down why this was a "peak" effort from Cousins and the standout performances from Jessie Bates, Bijan Robinson, Drake London, Darnell Mooney, and others.
    Later, he discusses the performance of the Falcons defense and why it was good enough to win despite giving up a lot of yards and clock. He discusses how much of Philly's success on the ground was due to the absence of linebacker Nate Landman. Finally, he discusses why this was a necessary win for the Falcons to get their season back on track, and gives them a fresh start to build more success this season.

      I think against the Steelers #1 his arm was hit on the one and #2 he's not 100% generating power with his legs from the Achilles injury. Some of it came back last night, especially later in the game last night. Kirk is conservative. He's trying to protect the ball too much and not turn it over. Now these Sean McCay coaches, KOC in Minnesota and now Zac Robinson in Atlanta don't mind the interceptions, they want him to take risks and let the WR make plays. One thing I don't like about Kirk is that he'll run the play that's called. Very rarely will he change the play at the line of scrimmage. Sometimes you have to trust yourself and overrule the OC. The QB is seeing things on the field the OC doesn't. Asshole Rodgers does it all the time. That's why a weak ass OC like Nathaniel Hackett works with Asshole Rodgers. I'd like to see a little more of that swagger out of Kirk. You need that cockiness out of a QB to win a Superbowl. Take charge Kirk!

    Calling for Penix after just one game is ridiculous. It takes time to get the wrinkles ironed out. Since the number 1 unit didn't play much during the preseason, that only made it worse and that is on the head coach. • @tracyperry5351
      @tracyperry5351 8 днів тому +1

      You know why Hurts had 170 yards? Because the Falcons kept everything in from of them and then rallied up to make the tackle on all of Hurts' short throws. That is the basic philosophy of a bend don't break defense. We did the same thing against Pittsburgh. Being a bend don't break defense is not a bad thing. If we can do a better job stopping the run, I think this D is going to be very good. Judon is a HUGE improvement but we still don't have an elite pass rush. Our corners (even AJ) are not lock down guys against top tier receivers but they are physical and great when coming up to make the tackle. Jessie Bates is arguably the best all around safety in football and if you give him enough chances, he is going to make a play. Simmons is still rounding into shape and getting acclimated to what we do but he is excellent as well. Linebackers are not perfect but they are solid when all 3 are healthy and they can sub situationally. I would give the D a strong B so far this season overall and I think they can get to an A as Judon and Simmons round into their best selves.
