Thank you very much for your hard working , may tell me how i prepare for IELTS exams ,there are many courses online I don't decide yet each one of them.
I worked in the US for a number of years on an international team comprising Japanese, Russian, Korean, Italian, French, German, Austrian, Swedish, Spanish, and American scientists. Funny fact, we could easily understand everyone else despite our very strong and different accents and frequent grammatical errors, but we often could not understand the American fellows speaking proper English. This is frequently misportrayed in movies, where the English-speaker main characters speak to foreign characters who, despite their very poor and broken English, seem to understand them without any problem. I think that for anyone with a low/intermediate level in a foreign language, it is much easier to get understood than to understand native speakers. I bet it's much easier for an English speaker to understand another fellow English speaker speaking broken Spanish than to understand a conversation between two Spaniards.
Hey teacher, how's it going? Thank you so much for this class, every day I'm watching your videos to improve my listening and speaking. Regarding from Brazil 🇧🇷
Dear Adam. I have watched some of your videos about 2 years ago and I really find the attached quizzes in every video lessons here so usufull. I really like to do it. What's more, almost always get a high score.
Thank you, your pronunciation and speed are understandable and comfy, so I enjoy watching the lessons. The topic is legit cos for natives all these words are cas
The "dunno" phrase surprised to me, even when is a natural sound. I'been enjoyed your work cos, always is great and, this video was a bit cas, what isn't usual in your ones but legit like always in them. Thanks so much. F'real I hope you are having a very nice time my friend.
11:13 "Eventually, you will find the actual meaning" But sometimes this "eventually" takes several months. For example, I heard a word "igzaiti" several times when I was listening to the radio, but I could not find this word in any dictionaries. After the programme I new everything about the meaning of the word, but I was still not able to find it. Only several months later I met in a text a strange word "anxiety" with the similar meaning.
Hi Adam, all in all these abbreviations are understandable; think that abroad I met people who spoke the dialect in the street and it was almost impossible to understand them! Let's say that a lot is up to the intelligence of the native speakers; for example, if I speak to a foreign person in my native language, I avoid using too much slang as it is likely that the interlocutor will not be able to understand me.
Sir,How much I like U & the way of your teaching, Definitely U R Unique.please never interrupt your teaching,We need U 4 ever.👌👌🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I would like to draw your kind attention Madam. I'm really dim at English speaking. I need a English practicing partner. I hope you will be kind on my request. Can we practice English Madam?
Thank you very much Adam for this val (Valuable) video. Lately I realized that people started to use invite instead of invitation, which makes me a bit uncomfortable. Would you please make a short video about that. Thanks again and good luck
Hi Adam, how's it going my friend, long time no see, by the way it was an excellent video, great explanation of those expressions I already know some of those, but it doesn't hurt at all to go over them, thanks for the video Adam.
Hello Adam! I love your English lessons and how easy you make them to understand everything. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. By the way, I have a doubt: Is Urban Dictionary a website? I wasn't able to find it =( Can you help me, please? Thank you in advance and regards from Spain ^^
Hi Adam, this too has been a treat for English lovers as usual. my heartful thanks to you. However, here I'm gonna ask you on a bit out-of-the-topic matter, because I couldn't spot your email to send my message. Well, I'm an English teacher from India. Now that I've got a will-be-or-won't-be state of mind about an usage, here I am to seek your say : "I have been teaching English twenty two years on."; I have written this sentence, replacing "I have been teaching English for twenty two years." As far as I can guess I have seen such usage of 'on' being a postposition with the same meaning of 'for' as a time adverb with the sense in question, although I can't cite any example sentences from any source right now, I'm sorry. However, I guess such an alternative expression is currently on. But the problem is some of our teachers are all saying, with depreciatory approach at me, that it's bad English, it's ungrammatical English. Now if you kindly put your observation on it and let me go deep into the above-said grammar issue, it'll certainly resolve the on/for shilly-shally that I'm going through. I'm agog to hear from you...
If the native speakers WANT to be understood by foreigners, they have to speak slowly, avoid idioms, and to use the simple grammatical constructions. In other words, they have to use the language the adults use while communicating with kids.
You're absolutely right! I'm so grateful to teachers who taught the class to enunciate while speaking in class. I have met so many native speakers who can't grade their language because they don't even realize they are speaking a regional dialect.
