This is a Winter Driving Tutorial I did for people interested in using 1/10th Scale Trail Trucks in the Snow. Hope this helps out my many aspiring Trail Truckers this year! RC ADVENTURES - djmedic2008 - SCALE 4X4 TRAILING - Upgrade Tips & Driving Tricks
@djmedic2008 so you inspired me to get my honcho, and by getting my honcho, a few guys from my carpet racing club decided to break out their scalers, and now come this summer season, Axial has said that if we can get more guys doing a scaling /ttc competition, they are willing to sponsor it as well as do give aways and prizes to people who compete and win. Thanks to you medic, there has been a chain reaction to scaler activity increase and growth!
Great Vid! I just put my 2.2 Mud Slingers on Axial Chrome Beadlocks on the SCX10 Honcho, raised the body as far as it would go and added an extra hole for height in the front posts, trim the corners of the bumpers and took a hair off of the body in the front. Just finished a run in the some snow in my yard. These tires rock for snow and clearance.
What a great way to spend my morning by watching this video. Great job buddy and very useful to those that are new to the hobby and others that are still learning. Anyways thanks bud and great to see a trail video again. Oh and AWESOME tire cover.
I just got done watching all 51 vidios and every one was great please keep the good work going. Maybe one of these years I will be able to get one if I live that long LOL Thank you for all of the shows.
I drive 1/1 and RC both and turning the wheel does help in both full size and scale. Turning the tires to get the side bit of the tire to get traction to bite anything they can grab does help.. Not turning to change direction, but turning to get moving which gets you un-stuck!
thank you so much for not adding any dorky music to your vids. i love hearing the truck and terrain and even your conversations with other rc drivers lol i hate it when people try making like a music video when theyre scaling, just ruins the video in my personal opinion
These types of videos are awesome Medic. Tips and tricks and advice on truck building. Then out on the trail. All of your videos are great. This in particular appeals to me since I'm a beginner and need as much advice as possible.
Always good filming by you Medic, fantastic work! To all - Make sure your just just focusing your line on the front tires, keep your eyes on both front and rear, because just cause your front is up, dont mean shart..
Nice video bro! Almost Looked like the old mudding adventures with the Tamiaya Tundra! Very nice commentary new folks to the hobby will find this very useful! Love the truck and from what I saw I will keep my tire chains on for a while! HA thanks for the video bro!
I LOVE the way that truck looks! :) Love the tire cover, with ur RCSparks logo. Super sweet! Im looking forwar to a future of UA-cam production, and have a LONG way to go.. hopin to one day acheive somwhere close to your level, but I got the passion, and the drive. Very nice!
as always another great video, very informative, I think the spare tire cover is the best, give my best to your family again thanks for the work you put into making these for us.
Great job, like being on the trails with you, except we are nice and warm :-) Thanks for sharing this. Got some Slingers for my 6x6 truck can wait to test them out. Nice to see you on the trails man.
hey medic and all who posted to the vid just a tip i did to my truck i noticed you are using the stock steering arm i took the spare that came with the kit cut the ends off and where the steering link attaches to and the other hole in the middle i bolted up the other one to double up the middle stiffens up the arm but still leaves some flex to not break the stock servo awesome mods for no extra money ..poorboy customs :) :
Nice winter trail vid Medic...but also spring is coming and I´m real hot for the coming season for rc offroading! LET´S GET READY TO RUMBLE RC-FRIENDS!!! ;-)
Nice :-) . At 12:10 , happened to me too inside I pipe with ice on top and water under. The esc got wet and burned up... I have a video on my channel from it actually. So now my scx10 goes brushless ;-) . Trying something different :-) . Keep it up !
a long set of sand ladders or waffle boards may have help get out of the ice trap. it looked like your rear wheels were getting stuck under the ice ledge. so yeah ramping is the way forward. : )
Hay bud, this popped up after yesterdays video, I remember watching this way back in the day. :) Kinda miss the old intro, didn't realize it till it played but ya, was good to hear it again.
Medic, do you have or could you do an after run vid where you show how you clean your scx10 including bearings etc. basically what you do after you run in water. Would be great!
Medic, first of all let me just say I have watched and enjoyed many of your videos and have been subscribed for a couple of months. I noticed that you said you were using a 27 turn motor on this particular rig and was wondering if this is a typical motor size that you use for this particular type of trailing? Keep it coming with the great vids. I think it's awesome what you are doing for the RC community just by sharing your passion for this hobby!
Showered and greased!!! Definetly a great tip brother!!! lol! And use a little tiiiire-shine too!hehe.. man..fun! Good to see u out doing some camera work, cool vid!, and rig is lookin nice!..later.. Oh, the viewer comment below.. predator tracks would be a pretty cool option that just bolt on and off. not to expensive too,- or kind of... Hmmmm
Yay another video. Such a great video @djmedic2008 love the show. I just have one question how do you lengthen the stock shocks like you did?? Is there a thread on the forum somewhere?? Please help if you get this thanks :)
Awesome job medic! looks like you had a blast! did you conquer the hill behind you in the end? seems like that truck would have done it well. thumbs up!
Hey Medic, From a racer/basher my hole life, You have got me hooked on scale RCing and a lifetime of fun I never seen in RC before (or was interested in =) What do you think of the rc4wd TF2 for a first timers scaler truck? Thanks for the vids, The Best Bro!
Another good show medic...I am in the middle of Doing some upgrades to the SCX10 right now...2.2's, closing in the Dingo body a little to give it a better look. And of course a driver...I have a question for ya? What is your opinion of the lift kits you can buy for the Scx10. Sure you have seen or even used them before. Wondering about you opinion..Thanks
Hey Medic! i was wondering if you could possibly do a mini e-revo brushed to brushless conversion video or recommend some gear to turn it into a brushless beast. This would be super helpful! P.S. Argo's are gonna beat the Stampeders :D go T.O.
Great videos Medic, me and my mates enjoy the show :) Just out of interest Medic, when your out and about trailing is there anything you bring with you? I mean we all know sods law happens and we break something so tools are a must, but is there something thats essential to you? Even if its a thermos :D
Hey medic, was there a reason that you put the MudSlingers on? maybe for scale looks? or do they preform better in snow. when winter comes around where i live its gets deep and my truck cannot get any grip. do you recomend those tires?
im curious, this looks like alot of fun and id like to start, but where do yall find trucks that have like the realistic body style, like the two tone chevrolet Truck, or like OVERkill where do yall find the trucks like those?? other then that I love what yall do here, i just started watching these videos today and it looks like alot of fun what yall get to do
@djmedic2008 Love your vids man. Neighbour from the south of Calgary (Lethbridge). Just bought a Wraith, curious if you know of any sweet spots to crawl in Lethbridge? Also, where do you usually crawl in Calgary? Looks like you like to Bow River.
hey medic. I have a couple of Tamiya CR-01s. Pretty nice rigs dude. Being a scale crawler guy yourself, just wondeing why you don't have one? Did you give up on Tamiya after you converted the crap out of your 'high lift'?
@XProGamerX12 any traxxas is really good especially the 4wd and the normal sizes ones not the mini ones or the 2wd ones they aren't that bad but... yeah.....
2 quick questions, where do you get your bodies for the scx10 because im not real fond of the stock body, and would you recommend using a chassis lift kit like the one by level3rc to fit 2.2 tires on the truck? thanks and i love your viedos!!

Whats your cheapest truck? Thinking of getting a truck for a change instead of super fast stuff! What do you reccommend?

hello medic, excellent piece,it would have been epic to have burnt up an electric motor in ice water though. LOL.
Hey Medic, From a racer/basher my hole life, You have got me hooked on scale RCing and a lifetime of fun I never seen in RC before (or was interested in =) What do you think of the rc4wd TF2 for a first timers scaler truck? Thanks for the vids, The Best Bro!

The slingers work good
it's nice to know that the lead singer from system of a down loves RCs like the rest of us.
Can u take 1.9s and run the same terrain and can you also Make a video on how to make dually tires? thanks for taking time to read this!
Medic, are you modding your lipos also? I've always been so afraid to go in the water with them.
yup its great
@XProGamerX12 any traxxas is really good especially the 4wd and the normal sizes ones not the mini ones or the 2wd ones they aren't that bad but... yeah.....
To support that: I may be wrong, but I believe most small scale R/C cars/trucks are more powerful for their size than their full scale equivalents...
2 quick questions, where do you get your bodies for the scx10 because im not real fond of the stock body, and would you recommend using a chassis lift kit like the one by level3rc to fit 2.2 tires on the truck? thanks and i love your viedos!!
Nice truck
I would like to see you get some rc4wd predator tracks for your scx10
