    I LOVE THE IDEA OF A BULLET JOURNAL! I'm watching a ton of these videos right now and I'm getting so inspired. I loved the "books to read" page. Definitely going to add that in mine!

    an app you might like for keeping track of the books you read is goodreads. they even let you set a yearly goal of how many books you want to read. But i love your idea of writing them down as well :)

    I watched your most recent video and asked myself, "When did I subscribe to watching videos about college?" But then it hit me. Planner she must be a planner. I somehow had missed this video but I love it. Westcott does make a six inch ruler that will fit in the back of your Moleskine. Oh and I love the nail polish.
    P.S. The college video. Excellent advise.

    I currently use an Erin Condren, but I've been loving having a bullet journal for on the go so that I don't always lug it around. I just always need to have SOMEWHERE to write things down. I like using my BJ to pre-plan and then dump it all into my EC. I love how creative you are with the shapes and stuff like that.

    Oh my gosh, I literally just searched bullet journal on UA-cam because I felt like watching some bujo vids and the first thing I notice is a sticker from The Blend! So cool to know that other people are into this kind of thing at Dayton. (I go there too! ;D)

    I have only found out about this whole "studyblr" thing just now and since I'm all up for growing up and withdrawing procrastination, I took my planner for this year more seriously. HOWEVER, I wanna give the concept of having a bullet journal a shot. Is it too late? :/

    • @GabrielTheMagolorMain

    This is absolutely cool ! I loved how you organised your journal it's simple yet it looks fabulous ! I wish I saw your video before working on my journal :(. This is actually the first time for me using a bullet journal... This explains why I got a lined Moleskin instead of the squared one... and actually I couldn't write using pens because on the other side of the page it will leave marks... so I am using only a pencil :(

    How are you getting on with your new weekly set up? I've been doing this since november and change my layout almost every week.
    In your previous bullet journal video you mentioned you were struggling with using your habit tracker and gratitude section. I've found it loads easier to make doing these part of my planning routine. I do my gratitude in bed just before I turn out the light and my tracker when I check my journal in the morning.

    • @AmandaKrutsick
      @AmandaKrutsick  8 років тому

      +Gemma Ford I'm getting along really well with my weekly setup and it's been nearly 4 complete months! I've changed a handful of things that I put on the right page, but the general layout is still the same. I've also been good about keeping up with my journal in the morning for 5 minutes and at night for 20! The habit really helps me to stay on track.

      +Samantha Lauren brainstorming and looking for ideas for my layout has been happening since the beginning of December. Actually sitting down and drawing it all out took me a total of 8 hours over a few days at the end of December. Setting up each month from that point forward only takes me about 20 minutes or so!

  • @Ellpep
    @Ellpep 8 років тому +49

    I'm sorry but its 3:30am and too many people have called a contents page an index!
    An index is at the back it says all the pages something is on, for example, if you looked in Y you might see UA-cam on pages 17 42 and 9, a contents page is similar in that it says the page somethings on, but it is not the same!
    okay, rant over, have a nice life :)

    • @apaigec0
      @apaigec0 8 років тому +2

      I think people put Index because that's how we're taught in school when it comes to journaling. I agree it's something that goes in the back and is alphabetized, however in school when teachers have you put together a journal, the first step is always to number the pages, then keep track on the first page labeled "index"

    • @Takselen
      @Takselen 8 років тому +6

      You can index in other orders than alphabetically, and this is an index, as you'll end up with something line this:
      "Instructions: 2
      Future log: 10-11, 60-61, 130-131
      July: 12-13, 132-133"
      etc.

    this was really inspiring:) i loved everything about your journal, also i have a question do you have to have a pacific book to do the bullet journal system? or can you just like go to walmart an pick up any journal of your choice an then make a layout of the things you want? an im like really new on journaling an i could use tons of tips:) an also when do you get your inspiration from?

    • @AmandaKrutsick
      @AmandaKrutsick  8 років тому +1

      +simplyjenni I use a gridded Moleskine because they are my notebook of choice, but you can honestly use ANYTHING, whether the pages are gridded, lined, or blank. Whatever journal you like will work perfectly with the bullet journal method. Then, just like you said, you lay it out however you want. I like to take a blank sheet of paper and sketch out ideas first. I get a lot of my inspiration from the study community on Tumblr and Pinterest, and I also get ideas from a Facebook group called Bullet Journal Junkies :) I hope this helps! Feel free to shoot me a message if you have any more questions!

    So, I've only recently learned about bullet journaling and I've watched a TON of videos about it and I have looked at the designs of MANY journals. I have to say, that yours is definitely the coolest one that I've seen. I will probably incorporate some of your ideas like the goal charts and books to read. I see that you posted this in January. How is it working out over half way through 2016? Does it mess you up if you forget to fill out your journal for a week? Or do you fill yours out on a daily basis? Thanks, girl. Your video is amazing and very helpful!

    • @AmandaKrutsick
      @AmandaKrutsick  8 років тому

      I have an update video coming very very soon on a half year update, but the short answers to those questions are: it's working fabulously but I haven't been as active with it this summer, it doesn't mess me up if I miss a week and I tend to just fill the blank space with doodles or printed quotes and things of that sort, and yes I fill it out on a daily basis and at the least I look at it once in the morning and once in the evening! So glad this video was helpful to you!

    • @AmandaKrutsick
      @AmandaKrutsick  8 років тому

      +Sherry Baierl I plan out three months at a time and leave about 4 blank pages in between them for my extra stuff. Some people plan ahead in a cheap, small, store bought planner and then copy over when they're ready to start the next month. Find what works for you! :)

      No it is similar or the same to a planner or planning.

      It's halfway in between planning and scrapbooking! You can integrate scrapbooking into it (like my monthly memories pages, for example) or you can make it very plain and basic. Totally up to you, and that's the beauty of it!

    Can you recommend a color wide or thick marker that doesn't bleed ? I hate to turn next page and see the color coming trough

    • @AmandaKrutsick
      @AmandaKrutsick  8 років тому

      Most wide or thick markers are going to bleed because of how much ink they put on the page. I don't have any recommendations, sorry!

      If you use a leuchtturm instead of a moleskine I find there isn't as much bleed through. Leuchtturm seems to work with a lot of different markers.

    I know I am a few months late with this, but in my personal opinion, if you lose a journal (or anything really) that you cared enough about to put a return address or contact information on, it's the right thing to do by returning it and people don't really deserve a reward. I would probably thank them a million times and if I had cookies or something in my house at the time I might offer them one but a cash reward is just ridiculous to me. Would they still bring it back if they didn't get a reward? Hopefully. So the reward really is unnecessary to print onto the page or to have at all.I know you said you weren't positive if you would have a reward or not so I just don't think you should put a reward down unless you write $0 but I'll give you a cookie or something.
